    The Herringbone pattern is a must have in your toolbox of flameworking techniques.
    Derived from the streets of Ancient Rome…this pattern has a long history worldwide.
    Join me as I explore this gorgeous pattern using some simple twisted cane!

      Hello Narakai-😁 I am glad you enjoyed it! I can’t tell you how many times it took me to get the cane just right for this one.
      First they were all black and white and I kept getting ‘twisted up’ with the directions I was making them in 😅
      I could have made a 5 minute montage of my fumbles! 😂✨
      Thank you Narakai! Have a wonderful week, see you soon! Hugs R- 👋🏽💫🌹✨

      I try! 😅 However…nobody sees all of ones that don’t make the final demo. Sometimes I get totally fed up with trying something over and over again…and then I will do a completely different style and it looks awesome! Its when I stop trying that I tend to make better work… 😂.
      Thank you so much for your comment, Diana! 🌹 R- 👋🏽💫🌹💫✨🖤

    Just beautiful Robyn, thanks so much for taking the time to create your beads and share your techniques. I get so excited when I see you've made another video for us! I don't know anyone else in person that does lamp working, but your videos feel like I'm having a chat with a really good friend about a shared passion. thank you so much! 💜💙

      Hello Clare! What a sweet comment! 🤗 I have always felt like flameworkers are hiding in little pockets…speckled around the world! We are a tiny group of people! I have always said…”if glass working was easy, everyone would be doing it!” But it’s not. 😂 and sometimes we find ourselves hiding behind our torches on a Friday evening, obsessing over melting glass instead of being social!….I know I do!
      It can also be a lonely journey…. That’s part of the reason why we started this channel…so we can share our passions with like-minded people like you…. and create new friendships along the way! Thanks again for your comment, Clare! See you next week! 😃 Cheers R- 👋🏽🤗🌹✨🌹

    Hi Robyn! Just discovered your weekly video and thanks so much, I can’t wait to try! Beautiful pattern! This weekend was a very busy but great one for me since I was officially invited to my first exhibit of my glass jewelry works at a glass fair in Normandy,here in France ! And they sold well! Can’t believe it! It was mostly fusing and little flameworking, since I am a flameworking beginner. And that was partly thanks to your great videos and to your kind encouragements ! I am so grateful ! 👍🙏☺️🌹

      @@scottwoodresearch as I was just saying in the group I’m in it’s the 2 actions together I find hard - twisting & pulling as my hands are really weak so can do one action on its own fine but put the two together & you get the twisty I just made nicknamed the wonky donkey twist lol not totally straight but it does have a twist lol xx

      @scottwoodresearch  Před rokem +1

      Lol! I have worn those same shoes, Jo! 😅 it does take some practicing…Sounds like you are almost there! I still have a hard time doing the backwards twisting. With that said, I think the Wonky Donkeys have their own signature style making for some very unique patterns! ✨🤗🌹🌹✨

    I have some Devardi glass rods and tubes, but turns out their glass isn't an easy one to use, they pop and explode a lotunless you take an extreme amount of time to warm them first, but also the glass keeps changing and becoming rough and not smooth like glass, so where is a good place to order glass for a beginner? All I have is a hot head torch as well with straight propane

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  Před rokem

      Hi Andrew! 👋🏽 I agree with you….the Devardi glass is not the easiest to work with. I usually buy all of my materials from Frantz Art Glass online. They are so helpful, and if you call them they are very knowledgeable about everything flameworking! Wonderful people! I prefer to use Effetre glass but also enjoy CIM, Vetrofond and Double Helix glass rods. I have to be honest though….I have never worked on a hothead torch. I do see that they have a ‘hothead ll’ torch that is made to work better with the glass. You might have this already? I would begin with a variety of Effetri glass and go from there but don’t hesitate to call Frantz and ask what they recommend. 👍🏽✨ I hope this answer helps you out a bit! Thank so much for reaching out!! Take Care- Robin 🌹✨🌹

    Do you have 3 different twists? That you apply to bead?

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  Před rokem

      Hi Maria! Yes…the are three different canes. Each with 3 colors. I didn’t have quite enough of the yellow to make the full pattern so I added the red cane because it was the same direction in twist. I am glad I did!
      Things seem to look more harmonious to me with magic of 3! 😂🌹 Thanks Maria - Cheers! R- 🤗👋🏽🌹
