- In this video I'll show you how to make a homemade table saw using a circular saw.
For various woodworking projects I found that circular saw isn't enough for me. And for more precise cuts I need a table saw. Instead of buying one, I made it by using circular saw.
Try to made it simple and cheap as possible. This table saw cost me only few $ - and that was for screws and zip ties.

🤣😂🤣😂
This build failed to mention how dangerous this setup is without a riving knife attached . While making a cut yesterday , the piece of timber jammed up on the saw blade and was launched into the wall at crazy speeds . Riving knives have been mandatory on all table saws since mid 2000s for this exact reason . Without it , it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN an accident is going to occur .
Thank you 👍🏼
And for over a hundred years men used table saws without them.
If you want a riveting knife, put one in.
Do you nag strangers because they are not wearing a seat belt while driving?
It might have been more productive to explain how or even just paste a link on how to add the safety feature; I cannot take away from the dude who took his time and effort to put together this content; it is Useful & Actionable information; is it complete, perfect or a 100% solution; maybe not; and the subsequent comment about the safety feature is equally useful as well; even though it doesn't include real useful information, beyond presenting a problem.
@@mark98115 if I can stop one bloke from getting seriously injured in the workshop my comment was well worth it. This macho man culture of disregarding safety doesn’t make you seem like more of a man, it just makes you look like a dummy. We all have families to feed and if you get seriously hurt its them that will pay the price
@@wx2833 Google is free and anybody who reads my comment can do a 30 second search. I ended up buying a dedicated table saw because I dont want to play Russian roulette every time i’m in the shed.
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
Fantastic straight to the point no time wasting.
EXCELLENT.Keep them vids coming.
I love some good problem solving. This gives me many more ideas. Thanks.
You make it look so simple and your attention to detail and keeping it basic makes me wanna make one this weekend. Thanks
I've watched many videos but your's is simple to follow
Incredible. I needed a table saw for small hobbies but this works great and I can save the money for wood. I have some additional ideas to make this better. Thank you.
I made one just like yours!!! Thank you for your advise, so simple and so easy to do, I'm an amateur woodworker, I just started, your advise and examples have been very helpful
Hello .. was just wondering if this table you made still worked well through many uses ? Or did it heat up easily?
@@divanvdm1 did you try it?
Nicely Done! Thanks for sharing. Thumbs Up
Perfect for low budget! Thanks!!!
Thanks for this. Just built it today after watching your video in the morning. What a fantastic jig for a circular saw. I'm ready to make stuff...
This is freaking awesome!! I'm gonna do it :D Thanks for the video!
perfect. Clear instructions and thanks for showing me the preferred screws to anchor the saw as well You thought of everything.
+Rocstoneau It's good to be helpful!
Love this. simple yet useful. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the inspiration. I've wanted a table saw for a while and I had all the materials you used with your build, so I built one very similar.
The saw I used literally cost me 20 dollars 20 years ago. It's been on a shelf collecting dust not being used.
My first cut was perfect on the angle, but the cut was not perfectly straight even though everything is square.
I attribute this to the cheapness of my saw.
I might have to make a slight adjustment to the fence I use to compensate for not cutting straight.
All and all I'm very happy with how it turned out.
this is so awesome. I've needed a table saw forever now, and it occurred to me today that I could probably make one, but really didn't think it would be this simple. thanks a lot for this post. :-)

Awesome work with simplicity and precision !
Exactly what I needed, thank you for simple tip
Probably the best table saw tutorial/video I have seen. Simple, explained and AWESOME!!! Thank you for this video, I am going to make one!!
All well done, this very good job nice and tidy. A good professional job also need a motor starter instead of that power cable trial. That makes your saw more safe.
This is the simplest one I have seen. I am a few months into joinery so this is my skill level. Thank you.
Very simple and good !
Thanks for making this simple, to the point, easy on the ears and eyes.
I have an old 9 1/4” circular saw that is just too heavy to use for any length of time and I don’t have a table saw!
Problem solved and thank you so much!
Build starts tomorrow!
Simple and effective. Thanks!
How can someone dislike this?
Excellent. Easiest circular saw - table saw conversion I’ve seen so far!
I like it but OP need to add a riving knife for safety.
Amazing my friend ! Very simple , easy to do , not complicate ! I watch at least 10 video how to make Homemade Table Saw with Circular Saw , I think your video is the best ! I owe you a cold beer !

Nice. Simple. Very useful for a beginner. Thank you.
Brilliant. I was making this whole conversion far too complicated and you just made my life a whole lot easier. Thank you!
I liked your simple conversion for a table saw. great job.... How would you add a saw guide?

Going to make this one. Thank you.
Omg I thought about going and buying one but I was thinking of transforming my circular saw but didn't know how to do it. Thanks! This saves a lot of money as I have 2 circular saws 💜
A very good solution if you need a quick table saw.
here's a few tips for building a table saw yourself
Find a suitable set of plans online
Find a colleague who wants to build one too so you have another person to help you
(I discovered these and why they work on Wilfs wood blueprint site )
I think Amazon Prime and ordering a table saw for £100 could be quicker lol
@@justrobin1234 but when you deattach it from the table you have a regular hand held circular saw. Thats at least why I personally am interested in this project
Robin you are seeing it all wrong. New DIY people can’t afford to buy all these tools. You spend a fortune ! However , a corded circular saw is cheaper, and better yet, you can buy second hand and make up the frame with wood from anything eg recycling day on your street. You used pounds so I don’t know how much this is in USD but in USD you could make this for $30
Very nice! You are talented. I personally am scared to use a table saw without a blade cover and a kickback preventer. Thanks for sharing!
Great sir. Thank you so much. U have explained the simplest way of doing it.
This is freakin' AWESOME!!
dude..omg, i was wondering if this was possible. thank you 👌. I couldn't finish my project today because I couldn't cut straight. I don't want to spend so much on tools.
Is it possible? Yes
Is it safe? Fuck no
People need to understand that table saws are probably the most dangerous tool in a workshop and when sh*t goes bad, it goes bad catastrophically. How much does it cost for the ambulance ride, hours of surgery, months of physical therapy, and the lost income being out of work all that time if you cut off a few fingers? Tens of thousands of dollars if not more. How much is a cheap table saw with actual safety features like a guard, riving knife, anti-kickback things? About $200-250.
Don't get me wrong, i love diy stuff. I make all kinds of jigs, tools, etc. But there are some things that are so incredibly stupid to save a few bucks...
@@LBCAndrew I’m so glad you said this since I havent seen a single other comment like yours. I think that table saw is second only to the lathe in terms of “can kill or seriously injure you the second you let your guard down”. Every time I’ve turned one on I’ve been reasonably terrified of it and I think you kind of need to be in order to not lose some fingers... not like completely tense almost shaking terrified but constantly aware of what can go wrong. I understand that table saws are somewhat cost prohibitive to the average person but I’d argue that the average person doesn’t really need one. If you’re just doing stuff around the house a circular saw will get a vast majority of the job done and is a much better option than a DIY table saw... just the thought of people doing this worries me.
I think their time, money, and safety is much better spent on just practicing with a circular saw...
Perfeito 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You certainly know what you are doing thanks for video 👍💯
easiest way. you saved my life and my pocket. keep it up
That was the first table saw I owned back in the late 70s. I made it myself. I cut some angle iron from an old bed frame, and had them welded together for the stand, then I screwed the wooden top onto it. I still have one today along with the one that I bought from the store, in my workshop
I see people make hybrids like this as a fairly standard thing. They appear to start with a small table saw then build a large platform around it. So I thought "I have a skill saw, there isnt much difference... I wonder if"... then youtube....
My question is, how do you make it to where it can make angled cuts? If you saw out the hole at an angle, would the hole be too big to hold thin material without snagging? U know? But for what I'm doing, I dont see myself needing to cut an angle that often.
@@MythicGuitarCompany cut a large hole, like 10"x2", route a ledge, and make separate blade inserts. You can make zero clearance inserts for the angles you use most, like 0°,45° etc.
In England you are the money saving expert
I really enjoy plans from woodprix instructions.
That's awesome Brandy!

I was wodnering how you would be able to make a riving knife for this kind of table?
Also he has the blade too high for his cut
@@MrSongwriter2 oh! I made that comment 5 years ago. I got myself a kid since then haha
@@Oliver-ug6ks Lol yeah I’m late to the party. Was looking at this caus a mate one wants to make one but I think it’s a pretty dangerous project and he would be far better with cross cut jig and rip guide and use circular saw as intended
I'm waiting new projects from u
Brilliant, loved it so simple to make unlike some others
That was the easiest one I've seen so far. Very simple and effective.
Simply open the multi plug on off switch and fasten it to the side board.

There are a few components to building a table saw. One place I found that successfully combines these is the Wilfs wood blueprint (google it if you're interested) it's the best plan that I've seen. Check out all the extraordinary information .
Why would people give this a thumbs down ? This is really well done, instead of buying an expensive table saw you can use the circular saw you already have!
probably because there's no explanation of the dangers e.g. need for accuracy when setting up the fence to prevent yourself eating the wood czcams.com/video/5c23SqUxDg8/video.html
Where is the guard behind the blade? That's why
It's dangerous and irresponsible. Does taking a circular saw, inverting it, and strapping the trigger down sound safe to you?
You just solve my decade problem, thanks.
Knowledge able learning within minutes.. Very well indeed.. Thank you Sir.
Gr8 video. Would prefer a human commentary instead of a computer voice but
I've made homemade tools like a router table and jig saw table, but think a circular saw is a bridge too far. Its awfully dangerous, more so than the other tools I mentioned. Once as a teenager saw someone cut off their finger on one and seen pictures of circular saw accidents. I have an old Craftsman circular saw, but wouldn't build a table, this one I'd prefer ro buy with all the latest safety features. Good luck with your build.
FX P if your worried about safety you could teach the teenager using it not to go near it with out using a push stick or build a safety board that goes over top the blade so that no one can trip and land palms down on the blade there's all types of ways to make this more safe I personally wouldn't allow kids that didn't know how to work with power tools to be around my stuff to wear they could get hurt this is just. Quick easy way to make a table saw if you don't have one in a job site is yours broke down I don't see this being some ones one and only table saw in less it was for personal use only and in that case if they made it they should have power tool safety in mind while using it
Well if you mean that this is more dangerous than buying an actualy table saw, i would say they are the same. whatever danger you may have with this you can also find in an actual table saw.
FX P I agree with you
FX P I totally agree with you. I was in the process of buying a table say then thought why not make one but after seeing a few videos bad reading your comment it’s safer to invest in a table saw with some good added safety features.
I know people who have cut their fingers off with an actual table saw.... What's the solution? Quit woodworking or quit being a bitch.
Thank you, very helpful for what i need to do.
nice straight to the point!!!!!!
that sort of melamine boards are very weak against moisture and pressure. in temporarily its good emergency tablesaw. but for long run, at least 3x3 supporters are needed. for board and saw both of them. anyway goodjob;)
What would you recommend to use then ?
sounds like a dubstep song
+Cadaver I was wondering when we were going to add the beatdown section for extra brutality
Awesom, great job, very simple
No more robot voices. Join me in this human centric rebellion
It's a realy nice job you have done here. But you should think about to insert a safety switch at all. Sure: It will work, but in time of an error in your electic perhaps it can be fatal. And think about that some people would do the same thing because they have seen it here ... just my 2 cents ;)
If you were to mount the power bar on the front rather than the side you can hit the off switch with your knee. That's why they're located there on table/arbour/cabinet saws.
Good idea, using your knee. Since you might not have any fingers left for the purpose.

An accident waiting to happen. No safety cover at all. Poor design advice
+Gregg Wyatt been using similar design for months now, safety is in your common sense not in the design of things
+Maciej Walaszek safety devices are designed so idiots with zero common sense don't get chopped into pieces.

Great project Dr. Hawking
I can always tell when someone hasn't had any formal training in carpentry and this is another plank teaching bad habits. Where's the riving knife, where's the crown guard and where is the feed off table to stop hands reaching to the back of the blade? Some joker will end up with no fingers watching crap videos such as this.
Horid grammar
