That was really cool. The snaptain won the bee fight. Nice flight. 👍👍👍👍👍
The way they were going at it this time with that larger swarm it looked like the quad was getting knocked around a bit LOL
Cheers for watching bro 👍
I found, flying without the phone, straight off the controller alone, is pretty decent. For some reason, range is easier to maintain. Once airborne, I bump through the gears, to 3rd, high speed. The recordings go straight onto SD card. I can get this thing to near 500m on a normal controller without upgrade antenna. Anything past 300m and you need to kinda be aware of potential signal loss.
One thing worthy note on these type drone, is to pack rubber foam under the lens to help reduce vibration when flying. Of course there is newer stabilised cameras now, but still worth.
🐝 attack bam
SP500 copped it hard this time bro haha, have a good one Jay 👍
Haha the 🐝 love you bro, nice camera 👍🏻
They like to video bomb me all the freakin time man, hahaha Take care Cam 👍
I’ve never seen a swarm like that before. That was a bee massacre 😲
Awesome video Dave 👍
Think this was definitely one of the largest bee swarms I've flown through and I've had many attack my drones in different location when I fly. Thanks for watching bro 👍🍻🐝😁
Wow bro those bees 🐝😂 wow that brings back memories of the h502e. Lol Great video and mod brother, Cheers and talk to ya when you wake.
Hi Donnie cheers for watching brother, this would have to Bee🐝 one of the largest swarms I've came across. Funny how at the start of the video I was explaining the last flight with the sp500 on Xmas day 2019 just past that I encountered them.. They must of heard me talking about them pre flight from the backyard and were waiting for me 😂😂😂
Nice mods bro looks a very nice and clear photo feed all tho bees that was just crazy bro
Cheers for watching Kirk mate 👍 yeah the bee swarm was crazy lol
Great flight and mod
Thanks Duke👍
Nice cool run out..👍..man them are some aggressive bee's..👌..cool video...
Cheers Todd, yeah these bees always seem to like my darn drones for some reason... I flew it up higher this time and they still went for it 😆
Your lucky! How lucky that you get attacked way up there!!!
Pretty nice range for this quad and the bees seem to like it as well.
Yes they sure do...seems like my drones must have a sign on em, they're always targeted lol cheers Greg
What is it with Bees and drones? I recently had my first Bee attack, on a much smaller scale. Good clear video quality.
Nice to see you flying again.
Thanks for watching David, these bees that attack drones are male 'drone' bees, they actually have no stinger and their job is to mate with a queen, so when they hear the buzzing of a quadcopter they are actually attracted to it. In one of my older hubsan h502e bee attack videos from 2017 I had a link to an article on it that was written by a bee keeper and drone enthusiast, very interesting stuff
Hello, can someone tell me if is possible to fly this Quad "indoors" ? and why it has 2 wifi antennas on the bottom ? Thanks
That has surprisingly good video quality. Sometimes when you open the tx they fold the antenna whisker in half and it kills the range. For whatever reason, I swear they do this on purpose 🤷♂️
The Bee 🐝 footage was Epic👍
Yeah I don't know why they do not expose these antennas from the factory...especially when they decide to make those stupid fake foldable plastic looking antennas instead on most toy grades. Thanks for watching Steve 👍
i realize I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch newly released series online ?
👍🍀🇮🇪 amazing video sharing
Thanks John
Nice mod Dave. I did a similar mod with minor improvements. You need to Bee careful where you fly these days!!!
Haha something about West Aussie bees mate🐝🐝🐝, they love the quadcopters and drones. Its happened to me countless times, but this one would have to of been one of the largest lol. Cheers for watching mate, hope all is good in SA and the isolation restrictions have lightened a bit 👍
Good morning, I have a question, I bought a Snaptain SP500 drone two days ago, I wanted to charge the batteries, but for 6 hours the green lamp flashes and the red lamp lights, the description shows that they should charge 2.5 hours. Should I still charge them?
Yes they take a long time to charge, thanks for watching
Hello from Wales, UK. Nice video and such a simple mod dude!
Have you taken the actual quad apart to see if you could expose the antenna inside it or would that be a pointless move?
I'm currently piloting on drone sims lol but buying this quad as my first so i can crash it etc before buying a decent flyer.
Hi Greg yep i did look at that option but the antenna inside wasn't really long enough to expose outside of the shell, this drone can travel just over 500m though, i done a max distance test in another video
@@PERTHWESTOZRC
Last question for you as I'm completely new to rc hobby in general, the antenna poking out the top of the controller, would it matter if i fed that through a platic tube of sorts to keep it from bending and snapping over time, would this affect the overall signal you think?
Ah cool good to know, im assuming soldering a longer antenna inside would be possible, if the connection isnt too small on the board of course. as my soldering skills are mediocre. Thanks for the reply. Subscribed and liked! Bee lucky 🤭
Having issues with this drone, it gets really hot when battery plugged in, is this normal guys?
Also have a Sandisk 16gb MicroSD inside the drone, when I record video it records the vids ok to my phone and saves them but the sd card videos are all corrupt. The card was formatted to FAT32 prior to inserting to the drone also. I'm going to mess about with it tomorrow again but Im hoping I havent been sent a faulty model.
Hi Greg, having the battery go immediately hot when plugged in is not normal at all, I can dee the battery being slightly warm after a full flight, that's normal. Not sure why the SD card is corrupt after formatting, have you tried a different sdcard? Sometimes I find certain cards have issues and other cards work perfectly on drones, but its not that common that happens, Hopefully you get it sorted out mate and thanks for watching 👍
Thatz HELLA good range!!! Mine seems like it gets to the corner of my block and turns right back around!!!
Thanks for watching mate, expose the antennas and you should get better range 👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC I'm doing that literally as we speak!!! Did u just pull yours out thru the holes or did u take the camera piece apart? I have my camera/sd card part removed and was just wondering if I should take it apart further or not
@@hcic8738 did you also turn off beginners mode lol?
It does make me wonder why all the toy drones don’t have the antenna fitted outside the controller anyway bearing in mind some come pre fitted with ‘ pretend ‘ plastic folding antennae, just route it inside for gods sake, it’s hardly breaking the bank and adding extra cost
i agree i so not know the logic in keeping them inside the transmitter like that and those fake antennas are useless to even have on the tx just for show
PERTH WEST OZ RC Exactly, the Chinese are missing a trick here, they could show a picture in their glossy adds raving on about an external moveable 2.4ghz aerial for maximum signal strength and super dooper coverage and all that crap , people would be impressed. I know I’m taking the rip but it’s true!
I can't fly a drone to save my life so your videos are as close I get . Think I would stack it into my neighbours house within five minutes . Sweeeeeet video though mate , those bees were not impressed haha
Cheers for watching Jack👍
Those bees were really going after you.
Yeah they definitely were, its not the first time I have encountered a swarm in different locations when flying...thanks for watching Robert👍
That is crazy David. I wonder why the bees go crazy over that drone and attack it? It isn't like the drone is close to their nest. They must see it as a threat. I wonder what would happen if you tried a different drone like the Fimi A3 though I wouldn't want you to get your good drone caked in bee guts.
Yeah the male bees are actually also referred to as "drone bees" as they have no stinger... Not that the word drone has anything associated with drones, purely coincidental. Their job is to protect and be attracted to the queen and the congregations are usually quite a few feet higher than where the hive is so the sound waves from props from quadcopter or drones does attract em.. If I took any of my quads out there they would no doubt be all over it. Maybe I'll try it on one of my other brushless ones like the Fq777 F8 but it won't be my a3 lol.
@@PERTHWESTOZRC yes you should!!
Did you feel the antenna outside helped the range enough to do that?
Yeah well its a simple mod that does have its benefits...I didn't try a full on range test this time but I had great control out at 300m on this flight
I have an SP500 as well. I haven't performed any mods on it. Will do some distance testing this weekend to see if it will be beneficial.
Great video!
Thanks for watching Chris, my WiFi antenna mod proved very beneficial as I gained nearly an extra 100m.of fpv signal...this tx antenna exposure does have its benefits also👍
Does bees seem to follow you every where nice flight
Yes it seems that way hahaha 😆 cheers for watching!
Omd Bro 😱 you had more than me. Thats what you call dangerous Sex lol 😆 good control and you kept calm 😉 hope it doesn't happen to me again 🤞 great video Dave 👍 really enjoyed it 👍😎😍👍
Would love to get more range out of my sp500
Hi David its limit its 500m, thanks for watching
How did u take out the antenna?
Open the camera module up
I remember the bee attack 😂🤣 they really don't like the sound of that drone🤣😂
It's got a good punch for takeoff, not bad for the money, and a good RTH, always important 😁
No need were harmed in the making of this film 🤣😂🤣
Haha cheers for watching Steve 👍
What's the deal with the bees. The particular noise frequency of that drone? I give you a bee🐝+ for this one.
Yes Robert you're correct, the male bees are attracted to the frequency of the sound waves the quadcopter gives off so become attracted to it
That’s unbeeeeelieveable. I’ll see myself out
Haha, thanks for watching mate, 🐝Bee Safe and enjoy the hobby
PERTH WEST OZ RC absolutely am sir. I bought a jjrc x12 the other week and loving it. Bought a mini whoop for the kids and we been flying it all day. Got my eyes on a mavic though... when funds permit
Do u have a video on how to mod the antenna like u have done on this video? Thanks
I just exposed the factory stock antennas like I showed at the start of this video... Do the same to the camera antennas as well
@@PERTHWESTOZRC got my answer dude apolgies u didnt see this comment!
How do you get the antenna mod??
Just open up the WiFi unit and transmitter and expose the stock antennas that's all, very simple. Thanks for watching Austin 👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC thank you so much. I just got the drone for my birthday and it is very good
Do you have any link for the mod?
I mention it all at the start of this video buddy, thanks for watching and subscribe for more rc videos👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC hard to understand that
👍👍👍👍🎮🎮🎮👍👍👍👍🇳🇱🇳🇿
Thanks Gibson brother👍
