- The Ariel Rider Kepler is a stallion of an ebike. A/R recently reduced the discount offered by $100 so the price is now $1,899.
26x4 at tire ebike with 1000 watt motor and 52V 20ah battery in traditional bike frame.
BUY A KEPLER: lddy.no/1ddo5
NOTE: I recorded this prior to the price increase.
Thank you finally someone actually gives a full review and tells you about the charger , no other reviews say anything about the charger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great looking bike! I always enjoy your reviews.
Good Vid Chris. Love those mirrors!
100% agree with the video. Well, maybe 95% agree - haha, I think the size of the rack is perfect. My brother got an ebike and talked me into it - and they are fun AF. I got the Kepler and can easily out run his Juiced ebike. But, he loves his too...I think all ebikes are probably just fun.
To each his own…ride on brother
What juiced bike does your brother have
@@codyhammer6293 He's got the RipRacer. It's really fun, a lot smaller and easier to manuver. It's locked to a class 3 so he can't get it over 20mph with throttle only, once they put out an unlocked controller for it I'm sure it'll be quite a bit closer.
Still for me the Kepler is the better fit for what I wanted.
Nice choice for background music to start off with!!!
Great review!! I have a Ride1Up 700 series for a year now. It's great but I want something with better range/battery. This seems like a good slight upgrade. Thoughts?
I'm interested in a comparison of this bike to the Philodo H8 dual drive e-bike. I suspect the range of that 78.2 bike would be less with only 48v battery which would drain even faster with two 1000W motors being driven. I'm looking to ride off road as much as on road, usually on gravel trails.
Great content 👍🏽🎯
Appreciate that
I keep seeing a lot of great reviews on youtube and I'm considering getting one, but I gotta say I'm starting to notice a difference between the reviews I'm seeing from tubers who may have recieved the bike for free and/or have affiliate deals with AR, and the reviews I'm seeing from non-tubers on FB and the BBB. This company has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau, by the way. It sounds like a lot of these bikes are shipped with serious defects that lead to months of back and forth with a not stellar customer service. I'd like to see you and other tubers address this elephant in the room for people who are thinking about this bike. Theres way too many bad reviews online for this topic to be glossed over by youtube reviewers. How common are these problems? Are the defective bikes shipping 1 out of 1000, or is it 9 out of 10?
I like what im hearing about the power. I'm 250 lbs and ride a lot in traffic, so I'm always getting in situations where I need to get out of a car's way asap. So I like what I'm hearing about the power. But I'm also a plug and play guy and can't stand products with a huge amount of set up or learning time, creating accounts and passwords, etc, and I have zero patience for defects and trying to get a hold of customer support. If I gotta call customer support for something I just bought, that is already a giant fail. I just want things to work correctly and be usable, and for a brand new product, I dont think that's unreasonable. So, I'd like to see some reviews that cover these specific issues, with feedback from viewers who actually own one. How long did it take to arrive? When you put it together, did it work correctly, or were there "problems." Were you able to use it immediately and consistently, or did it work for a week, and then you spent 6 weeks trying to get some non-defective part shipped? Was customer support supportive, or did Chloe belittle you and imply the problem wasn't their product, but your intelligence? Why do the AR responses on the BBB website seem more like they are condescending and trying to win an argument vs. trying to make sure you are good to go and super stoked on your new bike? THAT is the review I want to see for the Kepler before I spend $2K on one. Maybe these defcts are just anomalies, but there's definitely too many bad written reviews out there for this issue to be completely overlooked in the video reviews I'm seeing. I'd be really happy to hear more current owners chime in on this. Thanks.
I bought my Kepler and have had no issues. I also know 3 or 4 other people personally who have AR ebikes and from what I know they haven't had any issues. Defects usually happen during shipping for the most part. I'd suggest joining the AR groups on Facebook to get more details on some of your questions, there are lots of other owners in there to learn mfrom.
@Chris Crossed cool, thanks. I'm still considering it. I just dont want problems. Maybe i should be the one to do the review im asking others to do. Lol. Thanks.
Thanks for this. I am really interested in this bike. After reading through several of those complaints on BBB, I've decided not to purchase this bike. Not because of the mechanical issues, because those can happen with any bike, but because of the rudeness of Ariel Rider in response to their customers. Not to mention charging shipping for a defective part that THEY are responsible for. AR seems to be a despicable company. It's too bad becuse they could have an outstanding product if they chose to treat their customers with respect.
@@jrr3787 Sorry to hear that.
No issues with my low step.. Battery case needed to be snapped together better. Now it's just fine after popping one corner shut. Strange thing.. Ok now. Gears were off a bit. I turned a barrel adjuster to get the chain perfect. 2 minutes or so to fix the chain nice. Overall a good trouble free bike since Sept 3. 👍
I would like to see a display update. Wish we could set the PAS levels to a % of power wanted for each level. An accurate voltage displayed would be nice.. And a good accurate Showing of wattage being used. A on off switch or some way to put on and off a cruise control also. Other than the display I have no complaints. Maybe better grips stock. Anyway, great look at the Kepler.👍
Interesting ideas
One of the display screens shows the wattage being used at the moment.
@@SmokeyTreats yes but I don't know what kind of accuracy that indicator really has. Nobody sees anything over 1320 or 1340 for a flick of an instance. Most will show constant 1200 or 1500 going up a long hill.
Your speedometer looks pretty synchronized with the GPS. What wheel size and diameter do you have it set at in the settings?
Im not sure, never touched that setting.
I was wondering where you purchased the water bottle holder at? I will be ordering a Kepler here in the future would like my water bottle more accessible than under the crossbar. Thanks
On amazon the kind with velcro straps amzn.to/3knkwxz
Thanks
Thanks
How would you compare this to the Himiway zebra and Aventon Aventure .2?? I’m looking to make a purchase on my first fat tire e-bike
It’s lighter and faster than both of those, and costs less. If you just want to go 28 or less they are good e-bikes. But I still love my Kepler
Thank you and does it have a cadence sensor or torque sensor? And is it a free wheel hub or a cassette hub?
comparing this bike to the EAHORA ROMEO PRO any suggestions?
I dont know that ebike but I love my Kepler
I am researching ebikes. I notice that the Kepler is on backorder on the website. Does anyone know how long the wait is to get one? Good video. Thanks for the review.
I had to wait about six weeks to get mine.
Everyone said they were happy they waited 6 weeks average. 👍
I am a 5’8” tall woman. I am trying to decide between this style and or the step through frame. Do you think Someone my height will be comfortable riding this style?
I am six foot tall and the Kepler Stepover is a LARGE bike, I barely fit. You def need the step thru but its not much smaller. If I were you I'd find an ebike with 20 inch tires to be honest.
@@ChrisCrossed Yes, I think I will be ok with the step through. Thanks.
what was range you got on bike and how fast where you going the whole time
On throttle only with hills I got 27 miles. Speed varied. Havent done a pedaling range test yet.
I'm seeing this on sale for $1,899 and I'm contemplating whether to buy it. Did you top it out without pedal assist?
It has full throttle.
@@ChrisCrossed Oh okay so you were reaching 30 without pedaling? I might have just misunderstood
@@OchoBandito correct
That rack on the back can i put a seat and pegs for a 2nd rider?
I suppose you could but I think it’s meant only for cargo
Im looking at this and the lectric xp 3.0. Do you think its worth the the extra money to get this kepler? Xp is $1300 with long range batt
Depends on what you will be using it for, Kepler is faster with better range
@@ChrisCrossed Im looking to commute to and from work 18 miles each way. Also thought it would be fun to have a back seat for my 8 year old girl to ride on from time to time.
@@taylerellis378 the Xp would be a better bike for kid passengers
@@ChrisCrossed do you know anything on tge G-force T42 do you think the quality is on par with the xp 3.0? It has a larger 750watt motor and 20ah battery so im leaning toward it for the range i need. Im worried the xp 3.0 cant make a 30mile commute
@@taylerellis378 i haven’t tested it it yet but it’s on my radar, looks to be better all around from a specs standpoint
Can they supply with narrower tyres
I added 26x3.0 vee tire speedsters but it only comes with 26x4
I almost bought this bike twice now but hold myself back every time because of the brands reputation for having awful customer service and not replacing/fixing anything after getting your money. Sooo many Reddit posts about it and their trustpilot review rating is 2 of 5 starts which is horrendous. I can only assume people who review these so much are being gifted them because no video so far has been upfront about how bad the company is. They do make some cool bikes though….
I bought mine with my own money. Haven’t had to contact them at all.
I'm actively looking at this or the Aventon adventure. I would love this bike but I am reading about people getting bikes with something wrong and not getting any help from the company. Adventon has a dealer 2 miles from me that does any warranty work and just dropped the price to $1499.
@@familybusiness1417 mine came with no problems, the vast majority of ebikes work fine out of the box, so chances are you'll be fine. The Kepler is currently on back order.
@@ChrisCrossed I wouldn't need it immediately as I just had surgery so I can't ride for 2-3 months according to the Dr. I read somewhere that they had a warehouse flood and that causes the back order
Since the Kepler entered the market, how often has the price fluctuated, and do you think that these 1,799/1,899 sales will pop up in 2023?
It had always been 1799 until just a few weeks ago. So this is the first time they ever increased the price.
@@ChrisCrossed That's surprising. Based on another video I watched, uploaded in April, an Ariel Rider rep said the price would increase in May. I guess they extended it.
@@Dgrif12 yeah they kept it there for a while
@@ChrisCrossed Thanks for letting me know. I'm set on getting this bike for commuting to work, and I will probably pursue the payment plan so I can catch it while still at an affordable price.
@@Dgrif12 a good investment
If only they made a 2.4 inch tire version of this!
That would be cool.
Hahahaha it has front & rear Brake lights and tail lights...
How does the Front Brake light function???? Does it Flash some how?
ha, slip of the tongue...
They've raised it to $1,899. What kind of mileage are you getting on a full charge? Thanks.
Yeah i recorded this before the change. On a recent ride on flat ground i did 30 miles and still had 61% left. Havent done a full range test yet.
I have gotten 75 miles pedaling with low speed assist at 15 mph or some at 12-13 mph .. Combined trip Average 12.5 mph 75 miles pedaling with it. Level ground .
@@ChrisCrossed yes..50 miles I had 51% remaining at average 12 mph or so
This is low speed due to using mostly sidewalks and in heavy traffic road areas with no bike lanes at all. The rest was 25 miles of parks at 15 mph average. So 75 miles got me down to about 13% with a few blasts of throttle only to test battery after 70 miles at 25% .. it still hit 28 mph at 25% throttle only.. That all done with my top speed set at 45 kph.
@@ChrisCrossed I get 25 to 26 miles on 100% battery before it hits 99%
Oh.. I found the hill test.
Does the bike have cruise control?
No
Ok that's good to know 🙂
This is a great bike all around especially for the price there's no negotiating
Agreed!
At 9:45 you say it takes too long to show an Actual Speed test(unlocked). That is Ridiculous!!! A Definition of....speed test, Dictates that you run from 0 to Max Speed POSSIBLE.
Cadence or torque senser
CADENCE
DO A VIDEO ON THE APP THAT WORK WITH BIKE
I like the white letters
They will get dirty eventually.
You recommend this for the Range. Yet you don't mention that you tested and verify the projected range.
On flat ground the Kepler will probably get 70 miles if you ask me. 45 miles of real world conditions also possible. Will do more range tests in the spring.
@@ChrisCrossed probably...is not Verified. This is a test video. You should actually test the range. Then post the results.
@@djmcgranary714 I have two previous long rides on the Kepler where I say what the mileage was…this is a long range bike
@@djmcgranary714 He already said he would do long range tests in the spring so he's somewhere cold. Calm down
Why would you want to trim the speed/power down. If you want less speed just throw less throttle....
Because PAS 1 is too fast, I need slower speed at the lower levels. Min speed is 20 mph out of the box
The turn signal light is So Fing small, it is an Insult to claim it exists.
yeah i dont use it much
Did I hear that right...? 35mph
Ok yes, riders have been known to even get 37MPH from some of the other vids ive seen
28 mph is the legal.max speed in USA. showing the bike. Goes 35 mph is a red flag.
I rarely hit that speed, just showing its possible.
You must be that kid that ratted on people in middle school.
This bike rocks I'm so glad it goes that fast definitely a huge selling point for me, mine's on the way
Karen Award Gifted
Lol. Jealous?
I got ariel rider Kepler bike today but bike is too high you can’t use. Absolutely I have to sale it cuz can’t refund almost 1k i’ll lost. If you wanna refund it’s impossible with Ariel rider company don’t buy this bike. Video is advertisement.
FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND TO BE LEGAL ON THE STREETS AND STATE LANDS FOR HUNTING YOU CAN ONLY USE CLASS 2 E BIKES 20MPH SO IF I HAD THIS BIKE COULD I USE IT ON STATE LAND HUNTING OR ON THE CITY STREETS IF SELECTED TO 20MPH MODE OR NO PLEASE YES OR NO OR NOT SURE NO GUESSING
It comes as a Class 2 so its legal everywhere. A few states have restrictions about ebikes but no ones ever gotten a ticket for riding an ebike. Just ride bro.
It will technically be illegal cuz the motor is 1000. Legal max is 750w. But no one checks ever, so just don't speed.
