      I noticed you had a few cut-together edits between shots. I understand the desire to remove some of the boring parts in between shots but I am always suspicious that what REALLY happened is that you didn't get that perfect shape you needed for next shot so you had to manually set it up and thus edit video together to appear as though you ran it out. Perhaps consider not doing that in the future. But a nice video none the less. Subscribing because the world needs more pool !

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 5 lety +1

      I was just cutting to keep on pace with the music and to speed up the video. I will try to at least let the cue ball stop moving before I cut to the next shot for future videos. Thanks for the subscribe and feedback.

    The ball youre shooting at is frozen the one from the mosconi cup isnt. Makes a difference, ball is easier to pocket when it’s frozen. Not denying the fact that it’s a shot Alex was very capable of making for someone of his caliber, it’s a slight but important difference.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 5 lety

      I've seen this said a few times. Being just a bit off the rail makes this shot a lot harder cuz you need more accuracy. You have to be sure to hit the object ball before the rail. Still though, he should have gotten out at that level, but we all make mistakes.

    Comparing your practice tables to a Mosconi Cup TV table is like thinking a toddler is old enough to smoke and drink. The table conditions are very different between the two. Perhaps you may remember that new cloth and warmer environments allow for more slide to occur, making it more difficult to play a ball around three two or three rails. And the deep shelved pockets don't make it any easier. But I'm not surprised you showed some video of you 'making' the shot in your 'practice' time.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 4 lety

      You are not wrong, but I still think Team Europe should have won that game. Alex is of a caliber that he is highly favored to make that shot whether the table plays tough or not.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 5 lety

      This is probably my favorite pool hall anywhere. It is filled with Korean Professional players who are practicing drills and playing matches against each other every day of the week. Also, they have a daily pool special of just 12,000 won (about $10 USD) to play from open to close every day. All of the equipment is extremely well kept, and the owner is none other that Kim Ga Young, previously number 1 ranked 9-ball player in the world. She has trophies from the U.S. Open, World Titles, and Champion of Champions tournaments strung on display all around the pool hall. If you are ever in Seoul, you have to go.

    The outro song? My friends and I always reference that song while playing but I didn't know there was a pool version haha. Nice vid, Kazakis choked plain and simple. If he was on practice table he would've gotten that shot 99/100 times.

    Its easy for us to say things and shoot balls in practice game but when your in the heat of a battle especially in a stage like that though there what we call pro there still human and feels the same presure as we do,arms getting heavy, cant see the lines, brain overhitting and the worst is the adrenaline. So what you think? If you heard what shane said in the interview regarding the shot he said its a guess shot though we know it became like almost auto pilot.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 5 lety +1

      I can't even count the number of times that I have just put my brain into auto-pilot on a key shot. I am looking at a shot and I just can't seem to see the angle. I just get down and hit it and hope that it goes in. Most of the time it doesn't. I can't imagine the pressure at an event like the Mosconi Cup. Much respect to every pro out there.

    TV tables react differently to spin and power. Not your average club table. If a seasonned professional takes this kind of decisions there is a reason behind it.

  • @flyant321
    @flyant321 Před 2 lety +1

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards

      It the standard table that they use in China for most events. Couldn't tell you the name of it as the place I shot this at closed years ago, but the tables did play well.

  • @creeypiensa

    So... should I expect you to beat Kazakis in a match? Is that what you’re saying.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 3 lety

      I'm saying he choked under pressure. He is a great player and should have won that game and Team America was lucky to get another shot at the table. Don't be so sensitive to think that a single criticism means I think I am a superior player. I am far from that level and the fact that I could execute it consistently shows that he should have gotten out.

  • @danelobe2524

    The problem is your table is nothing like the slick bran new fast tight pocket table they were playing on. Nothing.

  • @darrencarpenter6552
    @darrencarpenter6552 Před 4 lety +2

    The more I watched this video, and then rewatched it to make sure I was hearing you right, the more of a fool I realize you are with your comment. On a practice table under conditions that you created, I imagine Kazakis makes that shot 99.7% of time. However, Kazakis had all the eyes of the Europeon pool nation watching him. The pressure of letting his team and NATION down was on his shoulders. He believes if svb get backs to the table, he himself has lost the cup. (Look what happened to Filler in this years cup) Plus Kazakis has had a pretty bad tournament up to that point if I remember right, that increases pressure. Add to that, the conditions of the table are so much more difficult than what we get to play on in a pool hall. They are slicker, english doesnt take off the rails the same, squirt and deflection of the cue ball is much more. To think your recreation of the shot is even 10% of the difficulty level that Kazakis faced, I think you're over-estimating. You should be ashamed of your comments regarding that shot. Someone needed to say it to you.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 4 lety

      Is it wrong of me to say that I think he is skilled player who is quite capable of making that shot? That is all I am saying in this video. You don't think that he normally wins from that position? He is a world class player. USA was lucky to get another shot that rack.

  • @ericshaw7859
    @ericshaw7859 Před 5 lety

    Ok so you can make the one on the rail, around the five, but you didn’t do it there. Have you not heard the ridiculous crowd behaviour at the Mosconi? They are brutal. Booing the players, yelling, hooting and acting like idiots. I would like to see you playing there under that pressure.

    • @WorldofPoolandBilliards
      @WorldofPoolandBilliards  Před 5 lety +1

      Not saying I am better, just that I think the casters were wrong and that Europe should have won that game.
