Standing in one spot during a song is EXTREMELY rare for Gaga. She’s not like most artists who have to stand or sit in front of a microphone to sound good. She’s usually at least playing the hell out of a piano, doing choreography, or at least running around the stage being a general badass 😂
This intro is so badass because she really gave what she promised us, THE FUTURE! She pushed the boundaries of art and music and it's really impressive that she was doing this in her debut.

I was there!! V Fest 09 in the large outside tent where Gaga performed was just manic. People were pushing to the front and people were getting crushed. They had to take people from the front of the crowd and over the barrier away from the stage. I was nearer the front once the show started. I was kicked, elbowed, covered in lager and beer and there were condoms and balloons flying around everywhere. It was so incredible! Great memories! :D
So, her new song just came out. It seems like she is referencing her older persona in the video. But the comment section there is filled with people complaining that her sound is "outdated" and needs to up her game to "current sounding" music... But when she changes her image and releases different sounding music, people complain that she should "go back." Oh well. I still love her for being who she is underneath the wigs and makeup.
