Richard is riding high from another magazine article lauding this podcast, but was the journalist right about the audience. If the maths teacher he picks is anything to go by then they are actually much worse. His guest is thoughtful ginger genius Tim Minchin.
They chat about how Tim is the tent poles of this podcast, the devastation of having his film cancelled four years into production, Rich pitches a predictable new musical and they discuss if there is any hope left for humanity. See Richard’s attempts at skiing here • Richard Herring is the... . Sadly motorboating exploits were never caught on camera. Check out Tim’s new show, Upright.
just love listening to Tim Minchin. He says he has nothing to say, but it is such a pleasure to listen about an intellectual and humble celebrity who has a LOT to say.
What a smart, genuine man. Respect Tim.
22:13 "You're an animated character. You look like you could have been drawn by an eccentric Frenchman."
Named Parker, a mute pervert wanking into a hedge.
Upright is definitely worth a watch. It's excellent.
It's fantastic. It went from really good to world class in the last 2 episodes.
I just watched the last episode and I am in pieces! Such an emotionally affecting work. A comedy drama that delivers on the comedy and then punches you in the feels without seeming manipulative.
Tim is completely justified about his pride in his contribution to this beautiful piece of art.
That series destroyed me. In a really nice way.
Where can i watch it?
An Opinion In USA Upright is streaming on Sundance Now.
Good stuff starts at 0:00
(delete at your leisure Mr Rich)
Tim Minchin always gives great interviews. He is so personable and lovely.
"You look like you could have been drawn by an eccentric Frenchman", nice one Tim!
Have binge watched Upright twice. Visceral. More please.
I love the color indigo! Another great chat with Tim. And yes, Upright is excellent.
3:40 Careful what you wish for
Always love Tim M interviews.
This is great. A lovely chat
Tim is NOT a bad actor. Please watch Upright.
Thx for a really good episode! :)
the vibe for both of them was amazing you known
Not long now until Limmy and Brady!!! This is going to be an epic year of RHLSTPs(RHLSTP!)
when??
@@dianemorrison1921 Richard previously said around early April so I'm going on that.
this series is really fun - me being austrian I don´t know half of the folks but Richard seems quite relaxed and that definitely puts his guests in a fun position. Can´t wait for Limmy!
@@CWiederwald Good to hear that folk around the world are joining the fun. You might enjoy Richards old blog about forgetting your capital, googled it for ya- www.richardherring.com/warmingup/26/10/2013/index.html
Really funny guys! Thank you I needed a good laugh today x
Is it just me, or does Tim actually look like he's turning into Bill Bailey?
Argh! Cannot unsee!
1. Long hair, check.
2. White, check.
3. Whoops, that’s it..
@@JackeryPumpkin well they are both quite clever when it comes to music so there is that
Dmeep musical ability doesn’t tend to impart an identifiable physical trait on a person’s “look”
@@JackeryPumpkin oh i dont know about that 9 out of 10 times i see tim or bill they are standing next to a piano, you might even say it is part of their look
Love you, Tim!
Think I may be more excited by Adam & Joe than Michael Palin, if that's possible.
indeed. continuation of tom cruise story?
@@dianemorrison1921 I doubt it, is it sad that waiting to hear that story was the highlight of my xmas? - and I think I've figured out the end to the story!!
No spoilers! :D
@@dianemorrison1921 Yeah, I think they'll save that for Christmas. It's the most drawn out mini-story I've ever heard. And knowing that Simon Pegg thinks it's a little too anti-climactic to be annually serialised...
Bloody brilliant
3:40 is quite sinister, in retrospect.
what happened?
Didn’t you hear?
did everyone else watching go brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbr when they mentioned motorboat. and also, i wish they'd chatted about Upright, its an amazing show!
I'm not a chunky bearded man in IT. I should come to a live show
You soon would be after the show. The transformation takes 3-4 weeks.
Love RHLSTP anyway but you are right we all fancy Tim 💖🙌🏻🙌🏻💖
Oh dear.....I remember you saying how brilliant 2016 was going to be. I guess we survived
Brilliant. Watched Tim last year and was just as great as he was a decade ago. These two should do something together. Maybe a Sunday morning satirical show where they take on big issues like religion, racism etc in funny and surreal ways. Never seen anything like that before.....
This is exactly what we want. Believe me.
Damn. Tim's looking good.
Tim Minchin and Duke Special used to look so much alike (they had some fun with that). Weird to see them both now looking so 'normal'. Lol.
I always think that Haha!
They can't even make Star Wars as successful as Star Wars thesedays. Law of diminishing returns.
2121 Denver Time. I'm staying up for Tim Minchin.
I bet Tim Minchin would have beaten Richard at House of Games. ;)
2020 is my year. You can fucking take it mate
David.
Top banana!
Please form a company to bring Australian and British productions to the United States. Our telly broadcasts rubbish.
I've improved on the intro for the all new Shrek the musical opening scene, instead of saying "Hello i am Shrek!" ,you could have our titular character sing ,to the copyright free tune of happy birthday "i am shrek shrek; shrek shrek!... etc " whilst he takes a dump center stage; proceeding to shape the poop into a stinky sexy princess, then recline in his high back chair with his knees by his ears, so as to enable self oral pleasuring....till completion.and scene!
alright then wasn't expecting to read that today
What the heck
For the first time ever I find myself disagreeing with something Tim has said. His success is not all luck. Some of it is, like being born into a middle class family, having access to good education etc, but a lot of it isn't. A lot of it is self advocacy, hard work and determination.
Dont tempt fate with bad luck,,,
it's OK. You can't. Becuase fate is not a thing.
@@Herring1967 fair comment,,,thanks
I love people admitting they don't know what they are talking about while constantly jetting around the world proclaiming that 'others' are too slow to act on climate change. I kinda like Tim Minchin. I admire his honesty
At last someone worth listening too, or should I be a 'badger' / pay for froth?
Tim is very based
Based how? Isn't he more woke?
@@MartinHiggins1972
Actually I have no idea what his politics are!
@@cats-uk I spose it's one of those words with different meanings. I most often see it meaning anti-woke, right of centre, in an edgy and uncompromising kind of way. Something like that.
@@MartinHiggins1972
You’re exactly right. I may have assumed Tim was based without looking into it
TM as Robin Hood might have been a better casting...instead they cast a dwarf...apologies to actual dwarfs, there should be more leading roles for you...not imposters...a real dwarf would have been cool too, or Richard Herring, I don't know why he comes to mind
This is a stretch so bare with me...... Just about to watch this but did Tim Minchin anything about his unconventional comedy style?? I tried 😁
Orange Man Bad will never gets boring. Every time a minor celebrity says how they don't like Trump I laugh like a drain and do a little wee.
RIP English
