I find it so weird that Valeri Nichushkin was bought out by the Stars, didn't score a single goal in their last season with them, and now he is a scoring threat every time he touches the ice.
Dallas was simply not a good fit for him. Ruff buried him on the 4th line and made him a healthy scratch, relegated him to AHL most of the nights.
I know right? the Avs are the LAD of Hockey All-stars and guys every one else gave up on who are now all-stars
Gotta feel good for Val after everything he’s been through. He loves his team and teammates and he is clearly making up for what happened last year.
Avs definitely missed this guy in the playoffs last season

Last time, that i can remember, a tough guy scoring a hat trick in the playoffs was darren mcarty. This hat trick reminded me of that game👍

Teams who have a good regular season for the first time in years need to learn hard lessons in the playoffs before they can make a run. I expect the Oilers to get the farthest. They've been through this a few times now.
If not the Avs, I could see it being the Oilers vs Canes. Both teams have faced the hard lessons and heartbreak
