  • Former New South Wales treasurer Michael Costa says Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen is probably the “worst salesman” to prosecute the case against nuclear.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear plan at a media event on Wednesday.
“I think this is strategically very clever by the Opposition,” Mr Costa told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
“At least now we have a debate over energy versus cost of living.
“Chris Bowen is probably the worst salesman ever to prosecute the case against nuclear energy.”

They are full of fantastic delusional nonsense. They are colluding with ridiculous and economically and socially destructive popular delusions.
They are acting contrary to the national interest by misappropriating massive amounts of taxpayers money and resources into uneconomical and unreliable renewable energy projects.

Bowen should really make an effort to try and understand nuclear energy. If Homer can do it, so can he.

I support either coal or nuclear base load power- Just get it happening and rid this toxic environmental disaster being renewables and EV's. WA.

Our current energy policy is based upon the same 3 ridiculous popular delusions as Germany with the same disastrous results.
Net Zero is prohibitively costly, impractical and totally unnecessary. It is economically destructive delusional insanity.
We need to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and use the most economical energy resources available. China, India,Indonesia and several other major countries are currently building new coal fired power stations for cheap reliable power.

Mr Bowen, Did you know Linda Burney is out and about sproking your method of energy supply?
Get her on board mate, her support will be a great asset for you.

Nuclear energy is operating in many countries without any safety related disasters. It makes good sense not to put all your eggs in one basket. Government decisions are based on politics and not science and costs. Government fear campaigns are regularly being exposed for what they are.

We need to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and build new coal fired power plants like China, India, Indonesia and several other countries. Nuclear power should be legalised in Australia.

The government needs to buy back our sold out electricity grid then drop the taxes on electricity, wow cheaper electricity instantly, and make no mistake the cost of living crisis is solely a high taxes cost of living crisis which can also be fixed instantly by dropping the high taxes placed on everything that have skyrocketed in the last decade, food drinks fuels tobacco alcohol etc etc etc the people would like a government that outright CARES for the basics of the people's daily necessities and that those necessities are abundant and fair priced

Agreed. The public electricity generation and supply system is a natural monopoly. It’s “pseudo privatisation “ has increased costs as has the current popular delusion based energy policy.
We need to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and use the most economical energy resources available. The agreement serves to transfer industry and resources to developing countries (including China) under the guise of preventing a fictitious problem (significant and dangerous climate change).

We should legalise nuclear power stations, however, if it is cheaper to build new coal fired power plants then we should proceed in that direction.
We need to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and stop squandering massive amounts of taxpayers money and resources on uneconomical and unreliable renewable energy projects. China, India and several other major countries are currently building new coal fired power plants for cheap reliable energy.

It became apparent to me in early 1990 that no serious problem with the climate was looming. I was on a vacation in Florida and it was obvious that the financial services industry was ignoring the melodramatic doomsday predictions about rapid sea level rise. The local real estate market was doing okay despite large areas of the state being barely above sea level.
There is now a long history of melodramatic doomsday predictions regarding the climate being proven wrong by history.
The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels are largely beneficial. Benefits include greening of the planet with increased agricultural yields (main effect), reduced water heating costs, fewer deaths from hypothermia and postponement of the next glacial maximum.
Net Zero is economically destructive delusional insanity.
It needs to be abandoned and the most economical energy resources available need to be utilised.
