    Razer are responsible for creating what many consider to be the first ever gaming mouse.
    They’ve manufactured gaming peripherals longer than just about anyone else, and have produced some of the most popular products in the entire world. But none of their creations are quite as iconic as the DeathAdder.
    For years, the DeathAdder has been one of the most popular head clickers in esports. From League of Legends to Valorant, pros have made history with this mouse in their hands.
    Razer has released several new and upgraded DeathAdders over the years - and it all culminated in this: The DeathAdder V3 Pro. Razer claim it’s lighter, more ergonomic and better than ever before.
    But is this new DeathAdder really worth the hype?

    EDIT: The wired DAV3 is finally here for half the price of the Pro and it's bloody excellent!
    The DA 2013 was my first ever gaming mouse and i loved it, but it started double clicking after just about a year and a half of use. The right flare also interfered with my ring finger when i grip the mouse as i keep my ring finger straight. Now that Razer has finally fixed those 2 issues, i suppose i will save up to buy the V3 Pro.

    Been rocking my DAV3 with the 4K Hz polling dongle for the past 3 months now and have been enjoying using it since. It very light weight and no matter what grip I use I feels right for both claw and palm grip. And the responsiveness is incredible. The only down side that I did notice was the battery life when using the 4K hz mode giving me roughly a days use before needing to charge but that didn’t bother me much because I just charge it every night. Would recommend to anyone trying to find a new gaming mouse in the current market.

    The scroll wheel issues are just a razer thing in my experience, I have used a basilisk, naga trinity and viper ultimate, I take good care of my stuff but always there was something wrong with it after a year or two (yes had multiple replacements with razer support because of this).
    The one issue that was consistent on ALL of them, was scroll wheel issues...

    I had the first deathadder, and used that mouse till i wore the rubber on the sensors out, and still used it for a few months after until it was completely unusable. I loved that mouse man. Between my older brother and I, I'd say we've tried every popular mouse on the market over the years, and the deathadders and the ones closest to the deathadders have always been my choice. The steelseries XEI or whatever was my choice for a while, just due to it being a cheaper rendition of the deathadder, but it wasn't better thats for sure. Now 14+ years after buying the original one, (I think 16 to be precise but im not sure), I got the v3, and I absolutely love it. I was hesitant to use a wireless mouse just because I bought the first mamba when it came out, and didn't like it (mainly due to the sense buttons, but i was just too used to a corded mouse), but honestly, its perfect, I can't think of how you could make a mouse any better. It's truly a great mouse.
    Edit: Only thing I'd say is making the mice lighter and lighter isn't necessary, the main worry I had when plugging the mouse in was just that it was a little too light. It's great, but seeing where my mouse ends up sometimes due to it moving a little differently because of the weight is something I'm still getting use too. Not a huge difference, just nitpicking. The mouse will end up all the way near my laptop for example because theres no cord holding it in place, and its just so light. I have to readjust my mat sometimes and push it over.

    After I flicked my 2013 viper off my desk one too many times, I switched to Logitech G502 and when the buttons picked up static and the sliders used up, I jumped back for a Basilisk V2. It was half a year before V3 launched with a much nicer thumb-tip button, though the V2 has a superior cable.
    Turns out I have some kind of hand-eye coordination impairment and I found that a slight weight to a mouse helps me make considstent moves.

      Yeah. This is an ad. They say it’s not because there’s no obligation. It’s an ad though. The switches are the worst feeling in the market. Also, the “shape” isn’t the old DeathAdder, IDK why they’re pretending it is. It’s between a DeathAdder, and a Mamba, even Razer says that the Mamba played a huge part in the design.

    • @Shyvorix

      The switches are the same as the V2 Pro, which is their optical v3s. I don't remember the OEM but other mice manufacturers who work with opticals also use them since they're the best manufacturer for them at the time. They're not as light or snappy in feel as mechanical switches but they're way faster and will never have any double click issue so it's excellent for eSports games and for eSports professionals. Feel is 100% opinionative. Same with coating and, well, shape.

I recently bought a viper mini for 29 euros (+ 19 euros for superglides) and i was blown away. Sensor supreme compared to both, shape is made for my very small hands and the switches are really good. Switches was absolutely not the best of the benefits i got from the mouse, but it was still better then past mice. It reminded me of the first time i upgraded from a membrane to a mechanical keyboard years ago, and that was magical.

Tech wise and everything its just slightly behind the Viper 8khz, but that's also Razer. Razer are kings of the peripheral marketplace currently and there's no opinion that can take that away, it's backed by tech and success stories in eSports. I just complained long ago from the Viper Ultimate cause the scroll wheel skips but I've since love their stuff. yes, it is the perfect neutral mouse for someone who likes ergo. i feel more locked in with the ec3-c because it's smaller but the deathadder v3 pro is much more comfortable for me.
    a vaxee outset ax wireless or a deathadder v3 pro mini would probably be the only mice for me that would replace the dav3 pro. i owned the xlite v2 mini beforehand and it was quite the adjustment but i felt right at home after 3 days. tbf though i only switched from the v2 mini because it got bricked, but the quality difference is definitely there.
    to summarize, this mouse is great. it's $150 yeah, but i can see why especially when it goes up against logitech's and i think this mouse is a better deal over the gpx superlight 2. i got mine used for $90 so i really recommend everyone who's wary of the price to get it used off amazon. you could always return it if it's a dud.

    As someone who had been frustrated with Razer and a total Razer hater before I have completely swapped to their new products now. The RVU and the Huntsman are all good products and had totally outlived my GPXS, GPW, and Model-D and I mainly use the RVU for work. Unfortunately though I'm not sold about the current price of the Viper v2 pro and I'm currently waiting for it to at go down to at least $100-$110

      I've been frustrated with Razer too, in 2013 i got the DeathAdder, a Blackwidow Chroma and a headset from Razer. Every product had a problem after about 1 year. After several years hating it i gave Razer a try with Basilisk V3, 3 months with the mouse and it just stopped working lmao. from 2014-15 till this day my G502 survived well, i replaced it for the basilisk and now he is backuping this massive failure from Razer again. Really good feeling mice, nice grip and build quality, but doenst work properly, so sad...

      @Shyvorix Před rokem

      Oh dude before 2018 their mice was hot garbage but afterwards apparently they changed their tooling, material changes etc and their mice started getting really good cause Logitech was doing the same. Now these two companies have very similar competitive performance but Razer is really starting to stay ahead since the GPX hasn't had an update or even refresh. Granted it sort of doesn't need it....but at the same time Razer is just making more progress past them, and with the Viper Mini Wireless/Pro coming soon....

    I have deathadder essential. Love it, but there's a deal breaker flaw with these mice. Scroll wheel jumping. I use scroll wheel to jump in valorant and it's super detrimental when you keep accidentally jumping mid fight because a slight bit of pressure on the scroll wheel makes you jump. Or when you scroll down on websites and it goes up.

    I have this mouse and previously used a viper ultimate and I just love this shape as someone with bigger hands in claw grip (20cm x10cm) the death adder just gives me a lot more comfort and stability. Only downside so far is m1/m2 clicks are loud (nitpicking) but they feel great so no real complaints here. I also have a viper v2 pro coming in (ordered it first) but I think the shape of this is just to good for my hands the viper is gonna have to go home.

    Razer Basilisk Ultimate Wireless USB Optical Mouse - Black. I have this mouse. Cost me £190. The side two buttons are too far, well the furthest one is. I use them buttons for left and right peaking but it's very badly designed the one that's near the front. You have to adjust your hand and it makes the left click and mouse unstable in a firefight. I went back to my £40 one. Loads better the side buttons. What are the like on this one?

      Both deathadder v3 and viper v2 have better tech than gpx. Not only the razers support 4khz dongle but just under 1khz the sensor performs better than the ones on gpx. eventually it all comes down to shape which matters the most. I’ve been using gpx since it came out and I loved it. But ever since razer released the viper v2 pro my gpx has been collecting dust until I gave it away. Logitech needs a refresh on gpx for it to compete in 2023

  • @John-wv9iw
    @John-wv9iw Před rokem

    I mean its perfect for palm grip which is the grip most people use, Id argue it's the defautl grip people use and they don't care enough to test different grips and sensitivities to find the one the feel the most comfortable with, I also used the deathadder like 6 years ago and it was pretty solid, but every since I changed to claw and used mouse more according to my smaller size hand, the deathadder seems not good enough. Nowadays since I play bothshooters and mobas, I use only ambidextrous mice with 4 side buttons, recently use the roccat kova due to the amount of buttons without turning into a fat mouse unusable for shooters and since that one is not even being produced anymore, I'm about to switch ro razer viper ambidextrous

    I play better objectively with ec1-c that dav3 pro. On the flipside, i like the shape of dav2 more just because of the hump which on dav3 slopes very fast to the right side and provides mimimal contact for my hands. Else everything on dav3 is quality. Just the shape doesn't suit me as much I would loved. Ec shape is still the most goated of all imho. Dav3 was close to it but not quite it and this is fine.

    Deathadder V3 shares a lot of features with the prime series of Steelseries. TLDR: new v3 sacrifices its versatility and compatibility with other grip types to make a better palm grip experience. It basically enforced users to specifically use palm grip or variations of palm grip by having the overall shape of the mouse and the specific region that index finger rests taller. By tapering down towards the front of the mouse and having the sides more vertical, the mouse allows more active gripping from the palms and fingers and gives the user more control over the exertion of forces onto the mouse. But this entire change upon the shape of the deathadder made the newest generation of impossible to claw or finger grip unless you have gigantic hands. The region that supports the metacarpal of the index finger is so tall that claw grip users have too much elevation for a comfortable contact at finger tips. The taller central hump also impedes the flexibility of finger movement for finger grip users. The narrower front end also lacks support for claw grip users that got use to having wider front support for ring finger and pinkie which are presumably inherited from long time use of fk, viper and gpw series of mouse.
