I doubt they were not expecting it. Every single one of them walked to the same spot. Why would you completely ignore the buttons, which is the entire purpose of entering, and walk directly to the center. If that was actually pulled on someone who wasn't expecting it, I feel like there would be injuries.

The first elevator prank is so dangerous, someone’s heart could just drop. It’s a prank as long as it is funny for everyone in the end, but now I feel bad for people being ´pranked’ like that.
Exactly and someone might be pregnant that kind of shock and the fall is bad for the baby.. People could have many medical conditions.. At least they could make a paid actor take the fall and let the spectators wonder what happened.. They can't let random people fall like that

@OfficiallyTrust Issues 1) the top of the railling is far too high up for that to happen. 2) the natural reflex for someone to do in a situation like that is to get as low as possible to minimize the height you fall from which literally everyone in the clip everyone did.
So for you to fall off you would have to purposely go against your instinct and jump off

The water fountain one was my favorite. An alternative for a prank could be to add coloring to make the water look dirty, I can imagine the reactions of disgust from the victims.
