I think “under representation” is a loaded term now and unfortunately comes with some baggage. There are some professions and fields that are going to have more men than women in them and vice versa. I don’t see a campaign for more male representation in nursing for example. And that should be ok. HOWEVER, this seemed more of a spotlight rather than some sort of campaign to try and get the ratio of women to men in music 1:1 lol. Personally thanks to some CZcams shows like music mansion, I’ve found some amazing female musicians I’ve subscribed to and had no idea about. I’m all for helping promote bands, music, and artists. 😊

Then, take a look at Alexandra Zerner's stuff here, amazing underated artist. She has several original albums (progressive, classic), and needs promotion and recognition at least....
      Greetings from ARG!

All this blah blah blah about how "underrepresented" women are in the music industry (moreso this art and craft that we all love) is absolute and utter bullshit. Even by Naushin's own (self-contradictory) words, there are more women in bands, and in "positions of power" than ever before. If that's the case, then I got news for y'all: there AIN'T no "underrepresentation" of women.
What we need to do is stop focusing on what the Allegedly Underserved Demographic of the Day is, and just make great music together (or separately, if that's one's thing). It doesn't matter if the people making and producing the music are men, women, black, white, straight, gay, or anything else. Take all the divisive shite out of the equation and let's just concentrate on fun ways to make music. Art does not give a damn about race, sex, political affiliation, religious or philosophical leanings, or anyone's feelings. If you are having a good time, and are/become good at what you love and do, then who gives a shit?

That’s kinda what we are saying to some degree. But what you don’t realize is that women are less on the radio in rock music. They are less represented in festivals and tours. There’s more to it than you know.

Wrong. Women are ALL OVER rock music radio. They are in abundance on mainstream and pop charts. Do I need to provide a list of women who are a force in music? There is no significant "imbalance" going on, despite the whinings of the ever-aggrieved sexist faction of our artform.
As I said, it shouldn't matter what an artist has between their legs which determines their "viability" in the world of music. If you're good, you're good, and that should be that. Just like race is only important to racists, sex is only important to sexists. I say everyone has a seat at the table, and the only thing I care about is the quality of their art and craft.@@joeymusic

First of all, I said women were and still are underrepresented and even if they are picking up music or reaching a position it is nothing compared to number of men. It is "SLOW unbalanced progress".
And you're contradicting yourself by preaching about equality and diversity and still criticizing a woman just speaking her own thoughts. And the world still has less number of female musicians, maybe your country has women everywhere. Good for you. The rest of us still struggle with discrimination that you don't have to deal with because of "what's between your legs".
And you're right, gender shouldn't matter but it still does that's why have to speak for it. If it didn't, we'd be busy making art and having fun.

First of all, you have a Western bias. Women are underrepresented despite being 50% of the population and this is not by choice. It's the way societies around the world are set up. In the west, there might be slight higher representation but in most of the world that is not the case. For literally millenia men had all the representation and as soon as Women nowadays get some representation, you want to downplay it by saying there should be no preference. It is the ideal, no doubt, but we have a long way to go as a species. Just enjoy the artist and the gift they give us through their art.

I'm not "contradicting myself" by "criticizing" you. You misunderstand. Maybe that's an "Eastern thing". But please - do go on about my "Western male privilege" (as if that's a thing that actually exists). I'm sure that'll get you mileage with your feminist sympathizers.@@naushinq

Let the playing describe the person, actions speak louder than words. Its like false advertising, seeing instruments and equipment and no results. its the trend now, taking someones word without anything to back it up, in every field
