    Hi bro, love the video just wondering if you could help me out a little I did a similar set-up as yours I ran the sunsun Hw3000 canister and bought the sunsun 604 pre filter only problem is the 3000 hoses are bigger and the 604 is only 18mm is there an adapter or work around you recommend?

    • @divineaquariums2774
      @divineaquariums2774  Před 3 lety +1

      You should be able to find a reducer at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I would take the hose and the top to the 604 to take out the guess work. You’ll need a reducer that fits the hose on one end and a 18mm hose on the other end. 18mm = 45/64 in or 18mm divide by 25.4 = .70866141732in. I hope this helps!?!?

      I had to make adapters for my setup, I just went to the hardware store and made connections to fit the hoses, my 704's have the larger hoses like your 3000 does

      Yeah the top of mine broke as well. But last March the gasket on both filters failed and it was a 3 month wait. So I replaced them with two Sicce Whale 350 canisters. Videos coming soon. Thanks for watching

    Good day. Planning to buy 2 sunsun 603 without pump and connect it into one. Run it with 3500LPH pump. Do you think it can handle the pressure? Nice tank by the way😊

    • @divineaquariums2774
      @divineaquariums2774  Před 5 lety +1

      Al James Kho thanks you for the compliment. Unfortunately I don’t think it would. With media it would dwindle down to around 1500 LPH. I’m pretty sure it would collapse the filters. Or pass through too fast. Chewy.com sells the 704b for $89.99. I would start with that model (depending of the fish you keep) it’s 525 gph without media. And if you need more filtration add the 603 later.

      @@divineaquariums2774 thanks for the video. I´ve bought a hw-704b and it´s an amazing filter. It is running for 2 months now with some sponges and 2 kilo of Biohome Ultimate in it. I´m loving it. Now I´d like to go the next step and use a 604 as a prefilter connected in front of the 704b. Seems the 604 connects a 16mm hose and the 704b connects a 20mm hose? I hope the 704b won´t be stressed to much and not lose a huge amount of flow.

      @divineaquariums2774  Před 3 lety +1

      @@silviocaltabiano5981 you will be fine running the 704b and the 604. I used the left over hose from the 704b and haven’t had any issues. The loss of flow is very minimal compared to the extra filtration and surface area for bacteria to grow. Let me know how it works out for you

    Is the ehiem pump necessary to run the prefilter sun sun 603b ? Or can i simply attach the prefilter sun sun onto my larger sun sun and run it ? Im not a fan of blocky items inside my tank

    • @divineaquariums2774
      @divineaquariums2774  Před 3 lety +1

      No it is not necessary. I like the convenience of replacing the prefilters instead of constantly opening and closing the canister filters. The more you open them the more wear and tear on parts.

    Hi I have a sunsun 303B with a LW604 pre-filter canister with a similar set up as yours.
    I have an issue with the sunsun sucking in air and blowing bubbles.
    I have checked all the connections & hoses and there isn't any air going in from the tank to the pre-filter or from the prefilter to the sunsun. I even covered the nozzles in the adapter that connects the hoses to the sunsun with teflon tape to create and airtight seal and prevent air from entering from there. I also covered the o-ring and rim of the lid with teflon tape in case air was leaking in from there but still air seems to be entering from somewhere.
    Have you had any experience with this kind of issue and could you guide me on any tips or options I could look into to troubleshoot & resolve this issue. Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Ally

      Try tipping the canister back, forward and the side to side. Each direction for a few seconds. You’ll hear the bubbles escape. That always worked for me.

    • @superaquatics
      @superaquatics Před 2 lety

      @@divineaquariums2774 Hi. That is fine I do that to remove existing air but it keeps sucking in more air from somewhere continuously and every few minutes keeps blowing air bubbles even after removing all the air by tilting it side to side.

    • @divineaquariums2774
      @divineaquariums2774  Před 2 lety +1

      Well my next guess would have been a connection issue. But since you are using Teflon tape that has been checked off the list. Although plumbers recommend 7-8 wraps around. Is there an air stone near (or too close) to the intake?

    • @superaquatics
      @superaquatics Před 2 lety

      @@divineaquariums2774 Thanks. Yes I wrapped the tape round several times so that the lid fitted quite snugly.
      Also checked there is no airstone or bubblers near the intake. Also checked the inflow hose from the tank to the filter with a bright light to see if there are any tiny bubbles flowing through and non there as well. I have a transparent LW 604 prefilter before the water goes to the sunsun and checked that also with a bright light and there are no bubbles in the prefilter or flowing from the prefilter to the sunsun. It has me completely stumped.
      I will try reopening it and replacing the o-ring and see if it makes a difference.

    • @superaquatics
      @superaquatics Před 2 lety +1

      @@divineaquariums2774 Hi I managed to find the air leak. I first replaced the o-ring but air still kept going in. Then I found it was entering from the swivel joint of the hose adapter on the input nozzle. I wrapped it from out with the teflon tape and air stopped going in. Its only a temporary fix as I was just trying to see if air was entering from there so will need to find a more permanent and stable solution otherwise will need to keep replacing the teflon tape everytime I service the canister. In case you have any suggestions for a permanent fix please let me know. Thanks. 🙏

      You will loose some flow (I did as well). I have poly-fil pillow filler in my prefilters, the SunSun sponges in the 603. The 702b has in the first tray 2 bags of chemipure elite. Second tray seachem matrix, third tray marine pure 1.5 spheres. So in summary try only having carbon and biological media in the 702b. Let me know how it works out! Thanks for watching!
