This video explained the Republic Act 7875 “National Health Insurance Act” of 1195 comprehensively. I was able to learn about the different theories of Quality Management as well as their differences and importance. I’ve learned that the “National Health Insurance Act” is also known as the PhilHealth and it shall provide health insurance coverage and should ensure affordable, acceptable, available, and accessible health care services for all citizens of the Philippines especially to those who are underprivileged, sick, elderly, disabled women, and children. The vision, mission, goals, and strategies of the Department of Health were also discussed in the video. It helped me a lot in understanding the role of the DOH in promoting the health among Filipinos. In general, this video was very beneficial to me since it helped me in understanding this act thoroughly. Thank you so much for this video!

Based from the video, the National Framework For Quality in Health ensures that every citizen is provided with safe, effective, accessible, and quality healthcare services for better health outcomes. I also learned there are different approaches to quality, which include consumer empowerment, institutional regulation, accreditation and rewards for quality care, financing, advocacy, social marketing for quality, inter-agency collaboration, and networking. Another topic being discussed is the prominent figures who contributed to the theories of quality of management which can also be applied in the healthcare settings. Achieving the goal of improving care delivery and improved outcomes for patients can be made possible by the healthcare's effort in the continuous improvement of quality and performance. Thus, quality improvement must be prioritized over process outcomes which can help providers with providing reliable and sustainable healthcare services to their patients.

According to the video, the National Framework For Quality in Health guarantees that every citizen has access to safe, efficient, high-quality healthcare services that are easily accessible, for better health outcomes. I also discovered that there are various approaches to quality, including networking, funding, lobbying, social marketing for quality, inter-agency coordination, institutional regulation, accreditation and rewards for quality care, and finance. The well-known individuals who contributed to the theories of quality management, which are also applicable in healthcare settings, is another subject under discussion. The healthcare industry's efforts to continuously enhance quality and performance can help to achieve the goal of enhancing service delivery and better patient outcomes. As a result, quality improvement must take precedence above process outcomes in order for providers to deliver dependable and long-lasting healthcare services to their patients.

The concept of quality management is one that is often seen as a technical, thing that is limited only to the corporate environment. Some may have a basic idea that it also has an impact as far as the products that they use are concerned. Others may vaguely see it as something that apply to broader business goals. But in reality, quality is not just about the product. It’s not just about large corporates who need to meet their targets and keep ahead of competitors, either. It is about the product AND how it is produced. It is also about continuous improvement, which affects every customer at some stage or another, from the things they buy to the way in which they are treated by employees, the way that the business manages documents and even the way that employees are assessed. In fact, it has a huge deal to do with the entire culture of the business. Quality management can also teach us many important life lessons as well, showing just how vital this concept really is to the world around us.

The video tackled various topics including the Republic Act 7875 “National Health Insurance Act” of 1995 (the PHIC), the DOH Administrative Order no.2010-0007 or the “National Framework for Quality in Health”, and the different theories of Quality Management (QM). The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) is in charge of implementing and managing the Philippines' national health insurance program, which aims to provide all Filipinos with access to high-quality, low-cost healthcare. The video also featured DOH Administrative Order No. 2010-0007, also known as the National Framework for Quality in Health, which is a set of guidelines and standards developed by the government to ensure that healthcare services provided to the public meet certain quality standards. Lastly, the also video discussed a number of theories related to quality management. To sum up what I have learned, quality management is important to the nursing field since it involves ensuring that patients receive the best care available. The implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols, the adoption of evidence-based practices, and the tracking of patient outcomes are just a few examples of the different activities that can be part of quality management in a healthcare setting.

Through this video, I was able to obtain an in-depth knowledge about the Republic Act 7875 “National Health Insurance Act” of 1195, DOH Administrative Order no.2010-0007 or the “National Framework for Quality in Health”, and the different theories of Quality Management. The speakers in the video really did a great job in presenting a detailed and comprehensive discussion about the topics. Even though the topics were quite lengthy, I was still able to keep my attention and interests until the end of the video.
The first topic that was discussed was about the Republic Act 7875 “National Health Insurance Act” of 1195. This act was discussed during our previous years, but because of this video, I was refreshed on what this act entails. I’ve learned that this act is also known as the PhilHealth. I’ve discovered that this act shall provide health insurance coverage and should ensure affordable, acceptable, available, and accessible health care services for all citizens of the Philippines. The priority of the program would be the underprivileged, sick, elderly, disabled women, and children. I also learned about the different general objectives, its members, and coverage of the Republic Act 7875 of 1195. The ones who can avail the benefits of this program are those members whose premium contributions for at least 3 months have been paid within the six (6) months prior to the first day of his or his dependent’s availment. The next topic that was discussed was about the, DOH Administrative Order no.2010-0007 or the “National Framework for Quality in Health”. I was able to discover its vision, mission, goals, and different strategies. I’ve learned as well that the National Framework Strategy outlines a clean development path and acts as a guide for physical and land use programs, as well as national and subnational development and investment programs. Through the video discussion, I was refreshed with the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Health. The last topic that was discussed was about the theories of quality management. This includes the theory of Walter Shewart, W. Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran, Philip B. Crosby, Kaoru Ishikawa, and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Model. I am grateful for this video because the theories of quality management were new to me and I was able to grasp and understand it thoroughly. I've come to understand that these theories are really beneficial in enabling organizations to concentrate, communicate, and develop.
In general, this video was very helpful to me since most of the topics were new to me. Thank you to the speakers of this video, you did a great job!

The video also talks about the objectives, members, and the coverage of the law if you are an outpatient, inpatient or the emergency and transfer services of the law. The video also tackled the benefits of the members.
The second topic was all about the DOH Administrative Order "The National Framework for Quality in Health" with the vision of Quality health for all. The mission is to ensure the safe, effective, efficient, responsive, equitable, and accessible health services and products in the Philippines, especially for the poor and vulnerable. The video also tackled about the strategies and aims to improve patient safety, and hence the quality of care. The last part of the video talked about the theories to quality management, it includes the theory of Walter Shewart, W. Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran, Philip B. Crosby, Kaoru Ishikawa and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model.
I realized is important to give your best to your patients. Quality management increases efficiency in processes, reduces wastage or errors and improves the use of time and other resources. It helps improve customer satisfaction.
Honestly at first, I don't have a lot of knowledge about this topic. I'm grateful that I get to watch this supplemental video it helped me understand more.

R.A. 7875 "National Health Insurance Act" of 1995 is an act instituting a national health insurance program for all Filipinos and establishing the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation for the purpose. Here’s my take away regarding the video, this program is important because it aims to provide health insurance coverage and ensures access to cost-effective and quality health care services for all Filipinos. Under this program, the premium contribution of the poor families identified by the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction are subsidized by the government. They are also covered in the No Balance Billing Policy, where no other fees and expenses shall be charged and be paid for by the indigent patients above and beyond the package rates. NHIP also provides coverage to senior citizens who are not currently covered under the program. It also discussed the DOH administration order no. 2010-0007 "National Framework for Quality in Health". In addition to this, community-based health insurance is widely recognized as the most effective way to achieve universal health coverage with adequate financial protection against healthcare costs, to promote equal access to high-quality healthcare, increase financial security, and enhance social cohesion and solidarity. Thanks for this very informative video!

  • @deohannahdelicona1787

This educational video taught me well enough about TGM even though it will really take some time understanding the topic because at its foundation, Total Quality Management (TQM) is a business concept that promotes the notion that a company's long-term success is derived from customer pleasure and loyalty. TQM mandates that all business stakeholders collaborate to enhance operations, goods, services, and corporate culture.
In order to sustain a desired degree of excellence, all necessary activities and tasks must be managed for quality. This comprises formulating a quality strategy, coming up with and carrying out quality assurance and planning, as well as quality control and improvement. Additionally, it is known as complete quality management (TQM). In the introduction of Quality Management it talks about The R.A. 7875: National Health Insurance Act of 1995 which is defined to provide for the institution of a National Health Insurance Program and establishes the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Which means that the National Health Insurance Program is hereby established, with the purpose of ensuring that all Filipino citizens have access to cheap, acceptable, and available health care services. I find this subject fascinating because health insurance covers a policyholder's medical, surgical, and dental costs, which may also include the price of their prescription medications. It can either be reimbursed or paid for directly by the healthcare provider, and everyone with health insurance can benefit from this. It also talked about the DOH administrative order no. 2010-0007 or the "National Framework for Quality in Health" and it is stated clearly that frameworks are crucial because they allow for the measurement and comparison of health system operations in many nations, allowing for the better and more meaningful decision-making, gap analysis, and information sharing. The presence of agency collaboration was also demonstrated, which I find more instructive because it can enhance communication, save time, cut down on duplication of effort, strengthen working relationships, and improve the experience for those utilizing health and social care services. Lastly the different theories of Quality Management that talks about different persons who has concerned with the theoretical aspects of total quality management. Whose goals is to improve delivering care and achieve each goals.

Watching this video presentation allowed me to gain more knowledge about Republic Act 7875 and DOH Administrative Order No. 2010-0007. Republic Act 7875 is an act instituting a national health insurance program for all Filipinos and establishing the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC). PHIC shall provide health insurance coverage and ensure affordable, acceptable, available, and accessible health care services for all citizens of the Philippines. It serves as the means for the healthy to help pay for the care of the sick and for those who can afford medical care to subsidize those who cannot and the priority of the program would be the underprivileged, sick, elderly, disabled, women, and children. One of its general objectives is to provide all citizens of the Philippines with the mechanism to gain financial access to health services. Because I saw the significant savings that coming from being a member of PhilHealth upon hospital discharge, notably when it came to paying the hospital bills, I can claim that this is accurate and advantageous for all Filipinos. I also discovered that PhilHealth's members are divided into five categories: employed sector program participants, self-paying program participants, sponsored program participants, lifetime participants, and overseas Filipino workers participants. I also discovered that it covers emergency and transfer services in addition to inpatient hospital treatment and outpatient care. I also learnt that only a select group of people are eligible for the program's benefits; these people are members whose premium contributions for at least three months were paid within the six months prior to the dependent's first day of availment. I also learned that the Republic Act 7875 provides the framework for the creation of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, was approved on February 14, 1995, and amended with the passing of Republic Act 9241 to Republic Act 10606 “National Health Insurance Act of 2013” to Republic Act 11223 “Universal Health Care Act”. I've learned how crucial it is to have the means to pay for a PhilHealth membership and take advantage of significant reductions during hospitalization and emergency after viewing this video. I also learned about the DOH Administrative Order no. 2010-0007 “National Framework for Quality in Health”. Its goal is to provide guidance for comprehensive and strategic approach for quality-related activities consistent with the national health goals and reforms to endure better health outcomes, client satisfaction, and financial risk protection. I also discovered about the duties of the Department of Health, one of which is to provide quality standards, rules, and guidelines to promote the implementation of quality in the healthcare industry. I also learned about the duties and obligations of the Local Government Units and Leagues, one of which is to support the provision of high-quality healthcare within its geographic authority.
This video allowed me to gain more knowledge quality management and what role it plays in the field of nursing or health care setting. It will surely help me in the future when I become a professional and licensed nurse

This video presentation talks about the RA 7875 also known as National Health Insurance Act of 1995, the DOH Administrative Order no. 2010-0007 also know as National Framework for Quality in Health, and Theories to Quality Management. I was able to learn more about the RA 7875 and DOH Administrative Order no. 2010-0007 after watching this video presentation.
RA 7875 is an act instituting a national health insurance program for all Filipinos and establishing the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC). One of its general objectives is to provide all citizens of the Philippines with the mechanism to gain financial access to health services and I can say that this is true and beneficial for all Filipinos because I witnessed the huge amount of discount of being a member of PhilHealth during hospital discharge specifically in paying the hospital bills. I also learned that members of the PhilHealth are classified into 5 which includes the employed sector program members, individually paying program members, sponsored program members, lifetime members, and overseas filipino workers members. I also learned about its coverage which includes in-patient hospital care, the out-patient care, and the emergency and transfer service. I also learned about the certain individuals that can benefit from the program and they are the members whose premium contributions for at least three months have been paid within the six months prior to the first day of his or her dependent’s availment. I also learned that the RA7875 provides the framework for the creation of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, was approved on February 14, 1995, and amended with the passing of RA9241 to RA10606 “National Health Insurance Act of 2013” to RA11223 “Universal Health Care Act”. After watching this video, I’ve realized how important it is to have the privilege to be able to afford to a membership in the PhilHealth and avail huge discounts during hospitalization and emergencies. I also learned about the responsibilities of the Department of Health and one of its roles and responsibilities include to develop quality policies, guidelines, and standards that shall support implementation of quality in health care setting. I also learned about the roles and responsibilities of the Local Government Units and Leagues and one of those is to uphold quality standards in health care through promotion of quality in health care delivery within its area of jurisdiction. I also learned about the different theories to quality management. First is Walter Shewhart in Shewhart Cycle- Plan Do Study Check (PDSC) cycle; derived from the notion that constant evaluation of management practices- as well as the willingness of management to adopt and disregard unsupported ideas- are key to the evolution of a successful enterprise. Second, W. Edwards Deming - the theory of Profound Knowledge and established 14 points of Total Quality Management. Third, Joseph M. Juan which is the Quality Trilogy which involves quality planning, quality improvement, and quality control. Fourth, Phillip B. Crosby which the theory of Zero Defects and he also established Four Absolutes of Quality Management and Steps for continuous quality improvement. Fifth, Kaoru Ishikawa which is the Cause and Effect diagram, the Quality Circle, and the Seven Basic Tools for Quality Improvement. Lastly, EFQM Framework which is the European Foundation for Quality Management. Thank you so much for this very informative and educational video presentation about these topics, I really learned a lot from this.

The video is extremely beneficial and informative regarding quality management. I've discovered in accordance with the policies and specific provisions of this Act, the RA 7875 "National Health Insurance Act" of 1995 provides health insurance coverage and ensures affordable, acceptable, available, and accessible health care services for all citizens of the Philippines. This social insurance program will allow the healthy to help pay for the sick's care and those who can afford medical care to subsidize those who cannot. It will begin with Programs I and II or Medicare and gradually expand to form a single universal health insurance program for the entire population. The Program shall include a long-term system of fund formation, collection, management, and disbursement to finance the use of a basic minimum package and other supplementary packages of health insurance benefits by a steadily increasing proportion of the population. The Program shall be limited to paying for covered beneficiaries' use of health services or purchasing health services on their behalf. It is prohibited from directly providing health care, purchasing and dispensing drugs and pharmaceuticals, employing physicians and other professionals for direct care, and owning or investing in health care facilities. DOH Administrative Order No.2010-0007, also known as the "National Framework for Quality in Health," discusses strategies for improving care quality. It also discusses the roles and responsibilities of the LGU, leagues, local facilities, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Lastly, the video also discussed about the Theories of Quality Management.

As discussed in the video, R.A. 7875 “National Health Insurance Act” of 1995 is an act creating the Philhealth Insurance Corporation and establishing a health insurance program for all Filipinos. The program intends to give all Filipinos access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services as well as health insurance coverage. They are also protected by the No Balance Billing Policy, which states that patients are not allowed to be charged any additional fees or costs beyond the package rates. Seniors who are not currently insured by the program are also given coverage through the NHIP. Inpatient hospital care, outpatient care, emergency and transfer services, and other health services that PhilHealth and the Department of Health (DOH) shall consider to be appropriate and cost-effective round out the list of benefit packages provided to members by PhilHealth. The program offers a variety of packages, including ones for, maternity care, medical detoxification, and Z-benefit packages for serious illnesses.
The DOH Administrative Order No. 2010-0007, also known as the "National Framework for Quality in Health," was the subject of discussion after then. I was able to learn about its vision, mission, objectives, and various tactics. A clean development path is outlined in the National Framework Strategy, which also serves as a roadmap for national and subnational development and investment programs, physical and land use programs, and other initiatives. To improve the quality of health of Filipinos, the Republic Act 7875 was created to provide access to high-quality healthcare services and insurance coverage. These benefits are responsive to the members' healthcare needs throughout the various stages of life and are focused on the individual's health needs rather than their financial ability. In connection, the National Framework For Quality in Health ensures that every citizen is provided with safe, effective, accessible, and quality healthcare services for better health outcomes. Approaches to quality include consumer empowerment, institutional regulation, accreditation and rewards for quality care, financing, advocacy, social marketing for quality, inter-agency collaboration, and networking. To ensure quality health, the IOC was created to continuously develop policies and guidelines to implement the national framework. As mandated in the executive order, the DOH primarily creates health policies, scientific benchmarks, and health regulations. Aside from that, private sectors, public agencies, and other international groups also play a vital role in ensuring quality health as stated in their specific roles and responsibilities.
Another topic being discussed is the prominent figures who contributed to the theories of quality of management. Walter Shewhart developed Statistical Process Control methods in order to aid a manager in making scientific, efficient, and economical decisions. He also developed the Shewhart Cycle Learning and Improvement Cycle (Plan, Do, Study, and Check), which combines statistical analysis with innovative management thinking that ultimately results in overall quality improvement. Another theorist is William Deming who proposed the Theory of Profound Knowledge which is stated that every business is comprised of interdependent individuals and systems that must be successfully managed in order for the system to function. Joseph Duran’s Quality Trilogy is a cycle of improvement designed to lower the cost of poor quality by incorporating quality into the design of the product or process in terms of quality planning, quality improvement, and quality control. Meanwhile, Phillip Crosby’s Theory of Zero Defects emphasized the notion that defects are not acceptable, ensuring that there is no waste existing in a project. Kaoru Ishikawa is also credited with developing the Japanese Quality circle movement and introducing the fishbone diagram which is deemed beneficial for analyzing problems and finding the potential causes of quality issues. And lastly, the EFQM framework is used as a self-assessment framework for measuring the strengths and areas for improvement of an organization across all of its activities.
In my own understanding, quality management also applies in the healthcare sector that primarily caters to different clients and they are equally given the opportunity to avail of healthcare services that are accessible, reliable, and of quality standard. Therefore, restructuring the healthcare system necessitates the use of specialized methods and tools such as theory applications to foster development. Achieving the goal of improving care delivery and improved outcomes for patients can be made possible by the healthcare’s effort in the continuous improvement of quality and performance. Overall, quality improvement must be prioritized over process outcomes which can help providers with providing reliable and sustainable healthcare services to their patients.

The Republic Act 7875 was enacted to promote the health of Filipinos by providing access to high-quality healthcare services and insurance coverage. These benefits respond to members' healthcare demands at various periods of life and are centered on the individual's health needs rather than their financial means. In this regard, the National Framework for Quality in Health assures that every person has access to safe, effective, and high-quality healthcare services in order to achieve better health outcomes. Consumer empowerment, institutional regulation, certification and awards for excellent care, funding, lobbying, social marketing for quality, inter-agency coordination, and networking are all approaches to quality. The lOC was established to continually develop policies and recommendations to apply the national framework in order to ensure excellent health. The DOH, as specified by the executive order, is largely responsible for developing health policies, scientific benchmarks, and health laws. Aside from that, as indicated in their respective duties and responsibilities, the corporate sector, official agencies, and other international organisations all play an important role in providing excellent health.
On the other hand, an issue being examined is the famous personalities who contributed to quality management ideas. Walter Shewhart created Statistical Process Control approaches to help managers make scientific, efficient, and cost-effective decisions. He also created the Shewhart Cycle Learning and Improvement Cycle, which blends statistical analysis with innovative management thinking to enhance overall quality. Furthermore, Phillip Crosby's Theory of Zero Faults highlighted the idea that defects are not acceptable, with the goal of eliminating waste in a project. Kaoru Ishikawa is also credited with creating the Japanese Quality Circle movement and designing the fishbone diagram, which is useful for assessing problems and determining probable reasons of quality difficulties. Finally, the EFQM framework is used as a self-assessment methodology to measure an organization's strengths and opportunities for growth across all of its operations.
To sum up everything, quality management also applies in the healthcare sector, which primarily serves various consumers and provides them with equitable access to healthcare services that are accessible, dependable, and of high quality.
As a result, reforming the healthcare system needs the employment of specific approaches and instruments to promote development, such as theoretical applications. Achieving the objective of enhancing care delivery and patient outcomes is made feasible by the healthcare industry's commitment to continual quality and performance improvement. Overall, quality improvement must take precedence above process outcomes in order for providers to deliver dependable and sustainable healthcare to their patients.
