  • If you're having trouble with the alarm randomly going off on your R50 Nissan Pathfinder or Infiniti QX4, then this video may help diagnose the issue.
I explain some of the basic way the security system works and some tricks you can use to diagnose the problem. This isn't a comprehensive deep dive into the R50 security system but it will explain the most basic functions of of the alarm system.

Very easy to follow and informative video. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

I think mine is in the hatch. My alarm goes off when I lock the doors and the wind blows or something. I also can't reset my key fob. When I put the key in ignition 5 times hazards won't blink. Also my rear dome light blinks while driving. Something is also draining my battery while it's switched off

I'm dealing with this right now, 2001 Pathfinder. If I remove the anti-horn fuse and the alarm is triggered at some point, will it trigger the alarm to go off for 50 seconds just once and stop/reset itself or will it cycle thru and keep "alarming" over and over again? Reason I ask is I'm travelling and am leaving my car at an airport parking......I'm mortified it'll go off and just keep cycling thru indefinitely and drain my battery. (considering just disconnecting the damn battery to be honest while I travel and plug it back up when I'm back)
A few things: My open door dash light is no longer working ( I could have all doors open and it doesn't come on anymore) and I've also noticed my dome light "flickers" when I'm driving, when I hit a bump or suddenly accelerate or brake. No rhyme or reason...it just flickers, so I've just turned the dome light to the OFF position. Now, when I open a door the only light that turns on is the rear cargo area light. I've tested all 4 door and the rear hatch and they seem to work fine (they turn the rear cargo area light on and off when I open/close each door) so my assumption is that all door switches are fine. I'm really stumped on what is causing the random alarm going off. I've disconnected the hood switch and turned off the dome light hoping it'll stop the alarm from going off randomly....process of elimination, I guess.
Suggestions on what to do now? Ideally, I'd like to just eliminate the alarm altogether, if possible. I don't even have a key FOB, I open and close with a key only.

I have the same car and problem if you lock the doors with the key at the back the alarm won't go off but the window will be open

Turn the key to the left twice to unlock all the doors. Not in the door but in the hatch
