Thank you Marietta. It was a tough couple of months when Toon was bedridden.
The farm isn't the same being on your own.
We count our lucky stars that she's now back on her feet and working her way back to full fitness.

Hard to believe that seven years ago the whole land was exposed soil (if you could call it soil!)

I reckon it's the long days grafting in the extreme weather that puts many off.

It sure is mate. Apart from the mozzies, it's a joy to see all the rapid growth of vegetation. We'll soon be planting up LH2.0 😉
Everything is looking great with the wet season. The chop and drop is working a treat.
Thanks mate. Yeah it's taken time to really get going, mainly to do with having to let the herd out on pasture areas more than we'd have liked. Luckily, soon as the herd leave an area after giving it a good haircut, it improves massively.
Still got a lot of areas that are chopped n dropped after cutting the Napier grass.
The Moringas are doing great to & we've managed to get all of the goats to eat it 💪

@@TLFarm No way, thats awesome mate having fish breeding like that, be interesting to see how many eggs and fry make it past all the hungry fish that much on the eggs. Any way you can get the eggs out into a tub or lake with very little in it to give you a good chance of a better success rate?

@@Fishing_in_Thailand we let the other lake's inhabitants munch on the eggs & fry because there's about 30-40 in there, which is enough. They're not one of my favorite species but there's a fair few over 15lbs & they're great fun on the Pellet Waggler.
Siamese are over 3lbs now in a stock pond. Gonna leave them to about 15lbs so they're safe from the Chaos & Giant Snakeheads (which have began breeding again but the Hampalas smash their fry to bits!)
The Toon hand feeding the Redtails was two videos published before this one. I think it's called "Hand feeding Red Tail Catfish by hand." 🤣🤣🤣

Brilliant on the Siamese, I was thinking with the walking catfish being so sought after by the locals for food, rearing them to around 1.1.5kg in numbers you might be able to sell them for food if you had a wee lake just for them to thrive. Im hoping to get involved in a small lake here in Pattaya, will be a waggler, cage and pole lake with fish to 2kg, fingers crossed vibes!!

It's easy to see that loads of expats are bored of catching 100lbs Mekongs & Siamese.
I shit you not, I'd choose catching a 10lb Black Shark Minnow on the float rather than any size Arapaima. I really miss fishing with a bit of finesse.
Top Secret Heads-Up for you....we're just putting the finishing touches to a swanky lakeside fishing lodge.
We've built it in the Glory Hole swim. Patio doors open right onto the swim. Toon & I will be moving in when we don't have any Farmstay guests & anglers booked in!

Toon got me some new trimmers that cut a bit shorter than my old Remington used to. Feels great.

OMG, I wish I wish I wish I could do a farm stay with you! Just not an option. 😢 I would stay for as long as you would let me. I'm one of those CRAZY people that totally admire Toon (I'm not worthy) and would fan girl all over when I met you two 😅.

On you tube you rarely see people come across snakes or mean bugs.
Looks like a good life to me, once you get it dailed in might be smoother sailing. Could you clean up that water? 1K for a pound 🤯 could you shoot ducks on it?
To date, I think we've managed to publish videos featuring pythons, monitor lizards, scorpions & wasps lol.
It certainly is a good life in our opinion. Lots of setbacks & hardship, but the numerous highs are certainly worth it.
It's currently the rainy season so the lake always carries more colour.

Demon spawn like giant spiders, scorpians or big snakes inside or in my garden while Im working, not so keen.

I know wild honey is cheapish & readily available but have you ever thought of getting a bee hive setup with wild bees ??? or are u a bit like me & it err mmm not sure on that lol

I have looked into it quite a bit Gary. Thing is beekeeping is done quite differently out here and there's no one near enough to us to learn from.

Its looking very green. I think I have a mixture of cat fish and snake head in my dam in Ubon Ratchathani, lucky us was the dam was full of fish when we bought the farm. But U want to increase my dam depth and size as well. Is that big fish in the photo a good eat?
They are but striped Catfish (same family) are more popular amongst locals.
Pacu are ok but tilapia are better IMO & snakeheads are by far the best.
@@TLFarm Cool then I have the right snake head in the dam, my mother inlaw pulled a snake head out of our dam this morning and she said it was as thick as her lower leg lol

Whats happened with the aligator gar?
We stocked both of them into the lake. Unfortunately, one got killed by something! Luckily, we still have the other one in there & it's easily big enough to take care of itself now. Super easy to spot when it comes up for air for chases a Java barb near the surface.
whens the next fishing comp?
End of October for the next Challenge Mrs Crabtree match unless Toon will do me the honor 🤣
How's your crayfish ?
@@johnlemuelenverga7084 doing very well thanks John. We recently stocked another 1000 or so juveniles into the grow out pond and we have 10 females currently hatching their broods.
Were they the native honey bees?
Yes both are the smaller species.
How do you aerate the lake?
No need (for now).
We've purposefully not heavily stocked the lake & have a good head of various predators to help control breeding.
Fresh water coming in through the sides & up from underneath all year helps to.
As far as future stock goes, we're planning on introducing our 40 Siamese & Redtails in about a year & various smaller species to keep the predators fed (if required.)
You only need a return financially when you still owe the man. Put simply, get rid of all of your debt and it's surprising how little you need to get by and survive. Second, it's only work when you need to pay the man at the end of the month. Hope that makes sense. 🍋🍋🍋🍋
