A rare treat of speed, power, and consistency by the 17 year old Lin! What a superb performance!
Lin Shidong was on the next level. A bit of shock for Felix.
I prefer electrocution instead of shock.
Lin Shidong's backhand is so strong.Fantastic!
Lin ShiDong- Incredible skills. The potential future Champion of the World. Never was I more in awe in this match than any I have seen!!😃👍
Lin Shidong you are the best congratulations on the future of the Olympics.
That's unbelievable skills of shidong..too good
Both great talents however this time Lin Shidong absolutely gave no chance for Felix to come back. Dominating performance!
A few comments for Lin, as I mentioned earlier, I think he has great potential and the thing I like him most is his mental strength. He has a formidable backhand like Lin gaoyuan, only more consistent and his agility is a bit like Fan Zhendong. He is definitely a standout from the next generation of players after Fan Zhendong for team China!
“A combination of Ma Long and Fan Zhendong” …. Woww… strong words from the commentator, yet very understandable.
Love both kids!😍
The best performance ever seen
Woah, China has forged another future TT champion. There's nothing Lebrun can do except given a a remarkable lesson. LSD (at 17), not flashy, has clinched speed, accuracy and angles all round to an unprecedented level. Watched him last few years beating his fellow CNT players in China with awesome abillity. Now LGL (head coach) has released him to the international stage for valuable experience. Speed/accuracy is the new trend. Will love to watch lightning fast exchanges between him, MH, LYJ and WCQ. However, inter-Chinese matches might not produce the same result coz they are so familiar with each other styles etc but any such level matches are still exciting/exhilirating/exceptional. Thank for the upload, much appreciated.
Who is MH?
Domination ..
Bir yıldız doğuyor
Lebrun had very little chance. Lin Shidong seemed to know where nearly each ball was going and was ready to make a strong shot, even sometimes pre-committing to a winner. If Lebrun had went for the other corner, Lin would have looked silly. But no, Lebrun telegraphed his intentions. Then Lebrun had only his reflexes and many times he didn't even react or anticipate. Then Lebrun has no game to play. His coach seemed to stay stoic when Lebrun looked back at him. Lebrun needed to find a new plan that Lin didn't anticipate. And there was no plan, so each game turned out the same.
Bravo Félix pour ton parcours👍
Felix is in shock, disbelief and awe! 🥹
Schooled there Felix!
what kind of cover photo is it?
Stay strong Felix, you are our best hope!
Lin's back hand is comparable to likes of Fan Zhendong. Quick and powerful
La machine est en route pour la relève.la chine sera toujours imbattable 👍🏽
holy shit this Backhand
We could say that he just knocked out Lebrun in this match....
Does anyone know what Lin is playing, his equipment?
DIGNICS 09C and alc for racket
@@AhmedEmad-nq5om So 09c on the backhand? Because forehand looks like dhs because of the blue sponge
09C backhand Hurricane 3 Neo National blue sponge forehand and an Viscaria look alike ALC .
Felix depends too much on his backhand and does very well at initiating attacks from backhand but unfortunately for RBH, it's hard to maintain high speed and intensify back hand rallies. His forehead is a disaster and he seriously needs some work on how to do forehand counterloops. His forehead lacks power and spin and always tries to block and hit without much spin and loop. Don't get me wrong, I like his style and I also play penhold, I just wanted to point out what he could improve going forward. Too many penholders now spend too much time improving their backhand while forgetting a powerful forehand is the key for any penholders to succeed!
Best rpb can't handle best shake hand backhand. As simple as that.
That's why Ma Lin was great
@@MrCooperscoopersWang Hao says hi
@@hawnt2r well, that's the real issue. Wang Hao is probably one out of a million who can get RPB bh as good as shakehand bh. And somehow just this one person gave people a wrong perception that anyone can play RPB bh as well as did Wang Hao. The reality is Wang is an exception, just see how many Chinese players are using rpb but none of them is as good as Wang. RPB simply doesn't fit human body design. Can you name one daily activity that people do that is similar to RPB movement? None, I think.
Plus, don't forget Wang Hao was using celluloid ball.
@@MrCooperscoopers that is actually not true. You are just manipulating with facts. In fact, rpb and shakehand backhand are allmost non different. The only difference is little discomfort in fingers at first two weeks, and then you just get used to it.
Non of modern penholders has backhand as good as Wang Hao did, that is true. But the thing is, that Wang Hao had one of the best backhands in the history, period.
And a lot of modern Shakehand players have much worse backhand than Wang Hao did.
It is not about grip, it is about skill of the player. Fan Zhendong, Wang Chuqin these players have spectacular backhands, but it is not because they are playing with shakehand. It is because they are very talented and work hard.
And if we take modern penholders like Qiu Dang, yes, he is not even close to Wang Hao in terms of RPB skills. But he has decent average backhand. And the reason why Qiu Dang has worse backhand than FZD is not because Qiu is penholder, it is because FZD is more naturally gifted, trains more hard and has access to chinese player preparation system.
09:32 service
Is that the French coach making a noise during service?
Man the French don’t play fair I feel like…
how you can say: he is better than ma long and fzd?
he is not better than FZD an ML for sure
100% agree with you. This 17 y.o, has yet to prove that he is consistent.
Размазали, ничего не скажешь...😊
The commentators could have been less partial with Lin, especially the lady was so seduced it was annoying..
So far Lebrun seemed to be very strong mentally but now he has creacked as he faced an unstoppable force. His shoutings after winning a point - which I hate - have been silenced.
He is a huge talent who needs to improve various skills, but everybody needs to calm down he is a 16 year old European who has already beaten several top players in the world!
Actually at the 4 months ago Lebrun beat Lin at the 2022 ITTF World Youth Championships.
On the other hand Lin was increadible, playing in a different league now, only 17 with great potential, still has to prove his skills & consistency againts the giants fo the game, but has a huge talent. Exictied to see how he progresses.
Agreed. Lin Shidong is an unstoppable force of nature. Just WOW!
felix didnt stand a chance
Spoiler alert! T_T 📚😭
Felix had bad day mentally. Maybe his massive success in the days before was too stressfull....
Stop making excuses for him. He was beaten pretty bad.
Did you even watch the match? Lin Shidong played out of his mind. There was nothing Felix could have done in this match.
Le mec n'a que 16 ans, et il bat les premier mondiaux.
Finally someone dialled down the annoying sounds of Felix, glad he lost this one, his reactions are extremely annoying.
When you came for the biggest talent of europe.. and he gets completely destroyed be the new talent of china...
Felix's strength is on his RBP. Well turned out best RPB is not as good as best shake hand backhand. So it's a total shut up.
It is not problem of RPB, it is just difference in level of backhand. Lin Shidong just has outstanding backhand, even comparing with other shakehand players. But hypothetically, RPB and shakehand backhand have same potential. Wang Hao proved that many years ago
@@hawnt2r That's where the issue is. From human body structure, RPB is not a common movement - you can't name a human daily activity that is similar to RPB movement. Somehow Wang Hao is an exception and his own existence caused a huge illusion that RPB can be successful and so many people just fell for it. Turned out Wang Hao is just an isolated case and no one else has ever duplicated his success.
@@MrCooperscoopers the fact that it is not common, doesn't make it impossible to master it. Felix has a good average player's backhand. Period.
He successfully competes with other players in backhand to backhand rallies. But here is the thing, that Lin has EXELLENT backhand.
And it is not about the grip, it is about the level of the skills. That is the problem why Felix had problems with him. But we can say same thing about most of the shakehand top players, whom Lin Shidong defeated. Ovtcharov, Lin Yun Ju, all of them suffered from the speed and power of his backhand, even if they were shakehanded players too.
Wang Hao was the player wuth excellent backhand skill, and I agree that no one still was in his level of RPB, but I think that problem is just in amount of penholders. There is just a few players with that type of grip and it just lowers the possibility that someone will have an outstanding backhand skills. And average shakehand and penhold backhand are the same. Point is that there are more shakehand players, and it is statistically more possible, that some of them will have a outstanding backhand
@@hawnt2r It goes right back to what I wrote at the top: best RPB still is not as good as best shake hand backhand. If you have ever practiced RPB, you will know how difficult it is. You probably have to double the practice time to be as good as regular shake hand backhand. And that's one of the reasons that most, if not all, of good RPB players have shitty forehand 🙂. They spent too much time practicing the RPB backhand.
@@MrCooperscoopers well, here is a thing. I am a player. Not pro, more like semi pro. And about year ago, I switched my grip, because RPB seemed more comfortable for me, than Shakehand backhand. And it has almost same technique and there is no such a hard something you have to do. The only problem at the beginning is that wrist and fingers can get tired, and that is all. It is not so intuitive like Shakehand backhand, but you are too overdramatic.
And your thesis, I am discussing with is - "Shakehand backhand is better than RPB"
And it is not. There is no principal difference between RPB and Shakehand backhand. The only difference is in the level of players, and grip doesn't matter at all
Felix trainer couldn't find any way to confront. What happened to "close to the table" game? And timing change and tons of other ways. Well. It was totally the same boring none creative, no improvisation, long game with no hope for Felix to resist somehow.
The only skill he is good at is to rush to serve hoping to catch unprepared opponent. Such a disrespect to the whole TT community. Cant watch any of these brothers.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
We have to say the truth here, Lin Shidong is fantastic, but he is not 17, all chinese players have to hide their real age to have a chance to make it. He probably is 21 or 22
Proofs?
