    Thanks for making this video. I just got mine yesterday in Western Australia - I got the hybrid gas/wood option! Can’t wait to get it all up and running.

    Thanks Paul! Zio ciro should send you the gas burner so you can do a review for us!

    Is it worth paying $3,500 USD to make neopolitan pizza at home? How often do you use it now? Do you use it for other foods?

    • @BitontoPizza
      @BitontoPizza  Před rokem

      For me, it was totally worth it. I make pizza once or twice a month but we make 10 to 20 when we do. The decks of the portable ovens simply lose their temperature too quickly for parties.

    Thank you, Paul! Just one thing, be careful when lifting the oven, only lift from the base!

    • @BitontoPizza
      @BitontoPizza  Před 3 lety

      Great advice. Yeah, I tried to minimize lifting from the dome when that thought occurred to me. I went super slow and minimized shocks as much as I could. The missionaries that helped get it on the stand were really careful, too. One of them was a pizzaiolo before being a missionary.

    Hi Paul, thanks for the reviews of the Zio Ciro. I am thinking of getting one as well. I was wondering if you have tried the gas option for the oven, and if so how long you find it takes to heat up with the gas.
    Thanks!

    • @BitontoPizza

      Thanks for the question, Peter. I have NOT tried the gas option, yet. Mrs. Bitonto Pizza wants me to do it but I'm such a wood-fire guy. In any case, it should shorten the time to heat the dome to about 90 minutes is my guess.

    Thank you Paul! How long do you find it takes to get the oven to temperature with wood?

    • @BitontoPizza
      @BitontoPizza  Před 2 lety

      I can do it in 90 minutes, but, I usually warm it up a little more slowly and take about 3 hours. That way the temperature in the thermal mass is more evenly distributed and I can cook for a longer period of time.

    Can you do me a favor and measure the size of the stand leg from outside edge to outside edge? I’m exploring a custom stand and want to get an idea of what size square stock would fit into the female ends on the bottom of the oven. Thank you.

    Any idea what the prices are for the 3 models in the US?

    • @BitontoPizza
      @BitontoPizza  Před 3 lety +2

      You can get pricing from the US from ziociro.com/assembled-ovens-3/ . The prices are about the same as last year but you have to pay separately for the stand. The wood versions are: 80 - $2899, 100 - $3499, 60 - $2099. If you've considered buying and Ooni or Rockbox or other portable oven, I recommend the Zio Ciro Mini which is $1199, so, a little more expensive but you get an oven that cooks more like a legit pizza oven.

      This oven is amazing. I love it. I initially purchased only the wood option but am probably going to add a gas burner. I highly recommend the Zio Ciro Subito Cotto 80!

    Zio Ciro should not leave it up to the customer to build the cart and then manage to get it on top of it, that is ridiculous and very dangerous as you well felt while doing it for sure. Valoriani send their 75 cm oven completely assembled on the cart with wheels and when you unbox, you wheel it to where it will go. This is really non sensical in my opinion to have to build and lift. This oven does cook Napoletana pizza quite well. Much better than the OOni and Rocbox crowd, a different class of oven. If it were not a fiberglass shell it would be extremely high quality. I hate to sound negative but I must be honest in my opinion. The good news is you can actually cook a Napoletana pizza in this oven, great heat retention. Good luck and enjoy!

    • @BitontoPizza
      @BitontoPizza  Před 3 lety +2

      The Valoriani 75 is definitely a great oven, but, it is more expensive and slightly smaller. I believe it is actually better to leave the stand bit up to the end user. Some may actually put the oven on the counter of an outdoor kitchen. Additionally, if you have to move the oven through a gate or other tight space like I did, it is better to move the stand and oven separately IMHO.
