I like that statement "what is wrong with having all of it". Most Nigerians are already swimming in the foolishness of mediocrity unconsciously. A government that doesn't know how to create wealth but likes to spend more on frivolous gratifications.
But in America we hear how Nigeria is so great and Nigerians so brilliant what's going on .
The government doesn't create wealth; it creates an enabled environment and a strategy on how the country entrepreneur can create wealth.

How did Nigeria and Kenya get rid of subsidies at almost the same time? Is it foreign driven or what? This conversation can happen anywhere in Africa it seems. We’re facing similar challenges and as Africans we must come up with an African solution.
All of them have spoken well. But the guy who said Nigerians should choose between good roads, electricity etc why should we choose one? Is it a crime to have all these things? This mindset is part of our problem.
The country economy is not modern, plus they are loaded with overwhelming 'lazy youths'. The government can not continue to live on subsidiaries on mechanisms. Get education and know how modern economics works, to make matters worse stop making the country baby factories 🏭 😒

This is what we call economic problems and it is not possible to get all at the same time. We just have to prioritize our needs. Human wants are many but the resources to certify them are limited
The guy speaks from d wisdom of politicians,dis would have easily sold out to d people before now,rn we are all knowledgeable and even more aware,at d dis stage ,Nigeria does not need slow speed of doing d right things sequencially,d govt keep going d wrong n right route so it is counter productive,can any one mention one member of d cabals that got us here?,cabal is simply d deceit used to get us here.fixing Nigeria is not as hard,it starts with security ( state n community policing),local govt autonomy with state monitoring mechanism,fix d judiciary devoid of corruption,more courts n judges, all this will create meaningfully enjoyment dt can drive d state n sanity n aswell proper real time monitiring ,funds for dis have been freighted away with meaningless hand outs by fed govt ,check our borders ,customs and port operation for corrupt sharp practices then the fedral govt can now focus on economic policies but d govt will not ,it's either more hardship for us or nothing.
The bedrock of our economy is security.

My own contribution to this is that THIS conversation needs to TRANSIT from Social media to ALL MEDIA even the creative media..the entertainment media. We need to hear this COLLECTIVE message as a LOUD sound. And it MUST BE continuous..CHANGE WILL COME..even spmetimes in small stages...sometimes in a chaotic and disruptive way..
This program should be advanced to be broadcasted in the main stream media. It's quite relevant to our polity and the present discuss. The producers should try to sell the idea to the The National Orientation Agency, public and independent broadcast institutions as well as to corporate sponsors. There are so many positives in this program especially from this generation that would help reform the whole idea of governance in Nigeria.
If it becomes too effective the federal government may ban them. They are a German broadcasting company.
Nigeria government will soon find them offensive and chase them away or create problems for them and make it difficult for them to operate.

The National Orientation Agency and other Government Agencies are just there constitutionally,but not functioning. Our stupid pride as a Nation and as citizens has destroyed the economy more than ever. It didn't just start today. It started before pre-independence and post independence...

I think the government should have had a good plan to remove the subsidies. Remove half for some years and use the money to increase wage rate and create employment befor removing totally.
Tinubu inherited a broke economy from his own political party (APC), a government he supported for 8yrs (no complaints) and Tinubu pledged & promised to continue with the legacy of the Buhari govt.
Today (under Tinubu) the Nigerian economy is battered and bankrupt. Despite these facts, Tinubu's Government continues to increase the cost of governance, spending more money on themselves (govt), embezzling and looting under the guise of 'PALLIATIVES', benefits, allowances, stipends and estacodes.
I think a solution is the government should invest billions in Agriculture and not solely depend on oil. It is ridiculous that we import most of our foods. Government should ban importation of food. Millions are going into importation, very ridiculous. Also in the next 10 to 15years, oil might not be important, as other technologies to reduce petroleum usage will be produced. The government should invest now in agriculture and factories to plan ahead for the future
Even in Saudia Arabia, Dubai they don't depend on oil they trying to venture into a different things

Nigeria has 200+ million and pumps less than 1.8 M barrels per day, Saudi Arabia 36M population pumping 12M barrels per day. You can check all the other oil producing nations population vs oil production. We havent even factored in the sharing formula with IOCs that halves the revenue to compensate them for the infrastructure investment. Oil revenue can help but cannot SAVE the entire country, all sectors need to work!

Nigeria can export 4m barrels daily with the right investment, but I agree with your POV. Nigeria should not even be in OPEC or considered an oil exporter when we can industrialise and exploit the country's large local market as the Indonesians have done.

Who told you that Nigeria is one nation? Nigeria can never be a nation because God did not create Nigeria. Nigeria is a creation of the British for their own gain. Nigeria is a combination of different nations that cannot never be metamorphosis to a nation. United Kingdom that criminally amalgamated different nations and call them Nigeria has 4 nations in their own countries l. They have England, Welsh, Scotland and Ireland. All these different nations have their own governments with a first minister. In fact, Scottish has different photographs on its currency and they are differently represented in Olympic Games or World Cup. We should stop deceiving ourselves. Nigeria must go back to regional government before any tangible progress can be achieved. Let each region component develop in their own space and according to individual capability rather than making a poor region depend on the fairly rich ones hence, the whole country is made poorer.

I know how to hold Nigerian leadership accountable!! Nigerian youth need to connect with young African American political activists our kids know how to make Nigerian leaders go viral and make our government here in the USA do something to Nigerian political crooks. African youths are not here in the states and they not as savvy as black Americans who are different from African Americans they rude unapologetic and crass just the ones our government don't like but scard of to help Nigerian youth get out what's going on there.
Black Americans don't even own the shops and properties in their communities. Black Americans support politicians who sell their votes to the highest bidders. The most successful black Americans in the USA are Nigerians. We have already seen the brilliant success of Black Americans in Liberia.

I am worried that other Africans are now discussing the challenges in Nigeria as if Nigeria is a special case while their countries are treating Nigerians in these other countries as if all Nigerians are all criminals.
I watched a video of some Kenyan women who are married to Nigerians and in some cases have children with these Nigerians are going through a rough time because the Kenyan Police and security authorities are indiscriminately throwing their Nigerian spouses into Kenyan jails and deporting them at will.
As Africans, it is very popular and trendy for.other Africans to discredit Nigerians indiscriminately. Nigerians are depicted as criminals in these countries.
There are many cases where Nigerian journalists have been maltreated and routinely punished for.trying to cover events in other African countries, while journalists from some.of these countries are allowed to freely cover Nigerian events from street corners.

Why is it europe and the western countries of the world can have a wage salary minimum butt countries on the continent of africa has no minimum wage They will sell a house in American dollars on the African continent but paid their workers very minimal wage. Their 2 things that determine the price of a home labor and material. This is one area. I believe Africa need to start here in raising wages of homes builder. Please start paying the workers. The carpenter, electrician, and masonries. Their wages need to be higher.
