    Mr. Tartakovsky makes each of these pieces positively shimmer with Ravel's genius -- and his own. Thanks for these lovely performances.

    Interprétation d'une grande subtilité. Ce pianiste a un touché qui convient bien à l'oeuvre de Ravel.

      Certains, habitués à l'interprétation de Larrocha, trouveront peut-être Tartakovsky trop intimiste. Mais Ravel, dans ses oeuvres de piano solo, ne cultive-t-il pas souvent l'intime de l'intime, le secret, le mi-dire ?

    That's the most beautiful Mirrors I've heard in years, reminds me of my beloved Richter, the end of La vallée des cloches moved me to tears, thanks.

      Thank you, that means a lot, as in fact I consider Richter's 1965 Prague performance of Miroirs ideal.

    I wanted to see a performance of Miroirs and found this. I have seen it again and again and each time I like it more. The video is so well done to get every nuance of the Miroirs. through seeing the hands. And these hands are incredibly photogenic.

    Странно...многие пишут о "торопливости" в исполнении "Лодки..." Темп очень спокойный....слышал и живьём, и в записи гораздо более подвижные исполнения этой пьесы (Николаева, Быстряков...)

    Настолько сосредоточенно сыграть в концерте (или аплодисменты в конце - просто аудиозапись?..) исключительно трудно...владение динамикой и экспрессией безупречное....а главное - реализация знаменитого пожелания Равеля об "отсутствии интерпретаторского произвола" - слушатель слышит не исполнителя, а автора.....при этом индивидуальность исполнителя чувствется в высокой степени...очень своеобразное исполние!...

    un barque sur locean is so rushed :(

    • @MJN260
      @MJN260 Před 4 lety +13

      Imagine the boat in subordination of the power of the ocean's rushing waves...I think this pianist has the technical ability to brilliantly portray that image, as required by Ravel's depiction thereof through his use of sweeping phrases and arpeggiated figures...The ocean in not always slow and calm...but excellent pianistic skill and interpretation is nescessary to give justice to this piece. I could even sense the anxiousness and fear of the situation and definitely prefer this interpretation to that of a slower, and what would consequently be a more static performance...

      French is french, nouns have gender, and "barque" is feminine ^^
      So it's "une barque".
      and yes, it's a bit rushed.
