Great haul. I really like Under the Greenwood Tree, and like The woodlanders even more. I just started Ruth for Victober! I also own a copy of Mr. Scarborough's Family but haven't read yet. The Green Virago's are hard to pass up with the artwork so beguiling, I know I can't pass them up for cheap. How nice to be able to go to bookstores with your sister in another city! I don't think I've ever done that.
I, too, love bookmarks! Sometimes I’ll take a business card as a bookmark if they don’t have the real deal. 😄♥️ I love this! Love those green covers of the Virago Classics. I’ve only read one Elizabeth Taylor and it was good …At Mrs. Lippencoat’s?!
Greetings Catherine from Northwest Indiana, not far from the Windy City...nice book haul Chicago style...sounds like you had a lovely trip and lots of time with you sis 🙂
Always love your hauls! I haven’t heard of any of them before, but they sound interesting. And I love getting bookmarks with my books too😊. Have a good week💕
It's always a good day when you can find a Trollope while book shopping! 👏🏻 I'm not a huge fan of short stories, either but I'm going to see if I can hunt down one of Trollope's short story collections. 🤓 I must admit, I've never read anything by Thomas Hardy and I'm feeling a bit trepidatious about the group read. 😬 Thanks for sharing! 📚
Lovely haul! Always awesome to see these Virago Classics.
Such a great haul. Love those Virago books. Seems like you had a lovely visit and hunting for books.

It was great! And good to finally visit the Midwest!
What great finds! I have never heard of Ask Mamma or its author. It sounds really fun. 😄
I know, the title still sounds made up to me!

I liked Far from the Madding Crowd
He has potential!
Aaaaargh "Under the Greenwood Tree" - was forced to read it for school, so that discoloured my perceptions. But it was indeed meant to be cheerful.
School assignments are a bit rough for me too. I still can't read Steinbeck!
@@takingteawithcatherine "The Pearl" - aargh!
