Sad to see that there's no DLC for Unicorn Overlord. But, a possibility of a sequel?! That sounds awesome!!!
A sequel to Unicorn Overlord? This soon? That 10 years of development probably left them with a bunch leftover stuff that didn’t make the cut.
Happy to hear Unicorn Overlord is doing well, but a little sad of no possible DLC. I 100% Expert and now working through the new highest difficulty. Definitely my GOTY so far.
Vanillaware cooks good since they develop for a long timee
I'd be really satisfied with a game in a similar game style to this one even if it is unrelated to Unicorn Overlord. I think a sci fi or futuristic game in the same style would be incredible.
I’m slowly getting close to beating unicorn overlord but if there chance of sequel of it I’m down to play it
Game devs not porting to switch are missing so much of their sales. switch can run games like witcher 3, hogwarts legacy and outer worlds. so devs should be able to optimize their games a little to accommodate switch specs.
That is correct, but it seems a lot of Japanese developers, either have problems in regard to downport games to the Switch or just don't consider the possibility. The Persona 3 Reload developers just recently gave an interview confirming that the game started development in 2020, though the idea of a P3 remake was discussed internally at Atlus back in 2014, but they have said that they never considered the Switch in mind when making P3R, despite the fact that Persona 5 Royal did pretty well on the Switch despite being a late port.
Honestly, it's getting kind of absurd seeing and reading so many Japanese game developers' comments in regard to the lack of support for the Switch, despite the Switch having become the best selling-console of all time in Japan. Some developers have said that they were caught off-guard or that they don't know if there's an audience for their games on Nintendo's consoles, etc. In my opinion it seems more like developers are just making excuses or that many still have a weird fixation on releasing their games on PlayStation due to some sort of loyalty to the Sony brand and the success many of them achieved during the PSOne and PS2 era. I know that another, more believable, reason is that the Switch's hardware is very outdated at this point, but as you mentioned, if WB. managed to release Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwart's Legacy on the Switch, no matter how bad they run, why can't Japanese developers make an original game of some of their popular franchises on the Switch, the only one that has done was Capcom with Monster Hunter: Rise, since MH: World can't run on the Switch, but we haven't seen an original Resident Evil despite that RE: Revelations released on the 3DS
Unicorn Overlord is a complete game with enough content starting day one, thats a lot more than you get from all other devoloper these days. Can't wait for a Sequel 🤩
I would love a UO sequel. But the first one did take 10 years to make.
Ogre Battle fan here, so, yes, more here.
Unicorn Overlord is like FFT on steroids. I love it.
Muramasa had DLC tho.
And each was a mini story with a new playable character, maybe that's why many are clingling to the hope of extra content for Unicorn Overlord
Yes I would buy a sequel if it was offered for Unicorn Overlord 😮
On the topic of Stellar Blade, it feels they took a lot of elements and blended them very well together. Even bringing the elements of less beginner friendly games to a beginner friendly level. Basically, they've played it very safe. Automata like setting, entry-level Souls-likecombat. Also when looking for a game to compare a lot of elements of Stellar Blade to, I've noticed it more being similar to Darksiders III for the combat and traversal/level design more akin Darksiders I and II. Level design. And let's face it, these games were good games but not amazing. I fear this game will also suffer the same fate.
To give a more recent example of a game that took elements from a bunch of games but also played it safe, is Granblue Fantasy Relink. Good game but nothing stands out And for someone who doesn't feel like doing afk farming and having pretty much levelled my characters that I wanted to level but now I just don't play it anymore. The thing Relink has over Stellar Blade, is monthly updates. What Stellar Blade has over Relink, is that for some people it's an FU to Sweet Baby Inc (?), And while this has created much more hype because of it, it shouldn't be the reason why the game gets sales. On the surface, a sale is a sale but when people only buy your game to send a message, that's a lot of constructive feedback down the drain.
Unicorn Overload is the full package - gorgeous, sweet personality and fun. Been playing it in short bursts pretty much since release. Cool that you can pick and choose your battles, and that Valkyria Chronicles - logic in battle offers great freedom for experimenting, too ^^
Unicorn overlord came out and caught me off guard it’s incredible I beat it twice in a row. I didn’t want it to end.
I was watching someone play the “Stellar Blade” demo & thought it looked like a Souls-like! Now I’m REALLY excited! (Just got “Lies of P”, having fun with it so far but still trying to figure out its system)
Hey OJ, looking for recommendations of content creators who do full playthroughs of Nintendo JRPGs (esp. Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Octopath, etc). My all time fave for playthroughs is Marzzz but she only does PlayStation/PC games. Who would you recommend?
UO2 sounds good to me. Switch II, maybe?
I almost bought disgaea 7 for the switch when I seen the price drop to 40 bucks but now I'm happy thay I waited
They almost got me
I'll wait for a sale when the complete version comes out
Unicorn OL and Princess Peach Showtime is amazing from what I played of it so far. I just got so many games at once. I am now trying Rise of the Ronin and soon I’ll pop in Dragon’s Dogma 2 when I feel like getting my a** handed to me.
Bayonetta just went downhill after B1. B3... my god was that a mixed bag.
I love Unicorn Overlord but if a sequel do come out I REALLY hope the localizers do a better job on it, because some changes were rather blatant and at time outrageous:/
Not sure how they would really carry on the UC story?
1 mill let's go!
Is Stellar Blade as difficult as a souls-like game?
Nope, if you can get the parry timing down, enemies drop pretty easily
Stellar Blade is a very hard game. Needs a 1 hand mode
I just wanted a New game plus mod or more post game :-/
And people told there wasn’t going to be a 2, this great news.
I would prefer a 2nd Dragon's Crown or Muramasa port.
Yep same here
honestly was not a fan of unicorn overlord .
In my opinion I think that dlc kind of ruins the magic of a physical release. Another physical release would just strengthen the IP image.
I played the Stella blade demo and had the same experience with the "delayed" timings. I thought I was just not doing the block quick enough but even when you get it, it's hard to get it consistently as the enemy feel like they are hitting faster then you can get the block up.
Urban style RPG? Well that rules out a sale from DarksydePhil 😢
I don't consider Stellar Blade a souls like game. It's more like Ninja Gaiden and Metal Gear Rising.
AAA unicorn overlord 2 would be cool
There're reports of them running out of money during development, so what AAA?
Lost interest in Disgaea when they stopped using the hand drawn sprites.
Sorry to say VanillaWare doesn’t do sequels after what happened to the original Grim Grimoire.
Can you divulge why?
@@jeremiahtorrevillas4396 Grim Grimoire’s story was set to have a sequel but because of low sales NIS chose not to green-light it. This prompted VanillaWare to make each game a stand-alone story so that doesn’t happen again. The only exception was for Muramasa Rebirth which got the Genroku Legends side stories as dlc
hi OJ
As much as I liked unicorn overlord I found it to easy and ended up stop playing it.
No worries. If you finish the game on any difficulty, it will unlock the hardest mode for you.
Unicorn Overlord sounds like a terrible name
