Huge fan of Octopath 1-2 and Triangle Strategy. Hope they continue this quality of game
The fact the octopath traveler is delisted for no reason is just so weird
Yeah, maybe they’re planning a Switch 2 remaster?
From what I heard it's because Nintendo published it so they need to get something settled now that the deal ended.
Ok you hade me at octopath traveler 3
Gimme Dissidia n Duodecim for the Switch with HD graphics
this!
Octopath Traveler series for me is top 5
OJ you literally just made me realize I don't have Dragons Dogma on the Switch. Buying the physical on Amazon now for $30.
Octopath Traveler 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm so sad it hasn't done gangbusters like it should. I'm reeaaally hoping a third one actually happens.
I want a breath of fire collection for switch pls
Team Asano is basically the reason I still buy certain games at SquareEnix. I hope he has an influence on Final Fantasy cause that series has lost its soul ever since 13.
I only buy digital games when there is no physical copy available
Even in that circumstance, I don’t buy digital. I only buy digital if it’s like $10 or less
I am the proud owner of the physical copies of Octopath's 1 and 2. I would be hyped to see a 3rd installement, or even a port of Champions of the Continent on switch, without the Gacha elements. I never played it as I never even heard of it till recently, and I am not a fan of mobile games, but would love to experience that story for myself on the switch.
Champions of the continent had a pretty good story all things considered, but yeah the game got super grindy to try sell micro transactions, and the gacha % was god awful too, also to sell micro transactions. So yeah it could’ve been a great game if it was an actual mainline game, how it is right now it’s just kinda ok.
That person almost booted our Atlus leaker out of twitter smh
All hail the power of friends!
LOL said every JRPG ever made. (I absolutely love JRPGs but there's *almost* always going to be a boss with three forms, one of which can only defeated by the power of friendship.)
I ended up buying a physical copy of octopath traveller for 20 euro, so I was happy it wasnt available
Square Enix, Capcom, Atlus, hell even SEGA have been giving us nothing but promising or good news lately. Unlike Bandai Namco or Konami who've just been disappointments recently.
Bandai has Sparking Zero and Konami has Suikoden and Metal gear...thought Suikoden is pretty obviously just them cashing in on the attention Eiyuden's getting.
@@joaocbcneto Don't forget Sand Land by Bandai Namco and they've also stated they'll be working more on less games but better quality. So maybe less licensed games. Which is something a few companies seem to be stepping down from.
Konami's just earning most of it profits from the sales of Momotaro Dentetsu 2
Square Enix gonna keep those hits coming 🎉💪
As far as HD2D series some titles fit while others don’t.. Triangle Strategy & perhaps FF Tactics would def work.. I just don’t think it goes with the stuff that’s supposed to be bright & colorful like DQ & Chrono.. Well maybe that one remake will turn out good.. I’ll try to have an open mind.. BTW I’m glad I found Dragons Dogma series.. It’s really something special
Live A Live is bright and colourful, though. No one said every 2DHD game needs to have subdued colours.
It's square eenix (long 'e', like in 'sneeze'), not enix >_
Team Asano need to work on a Xenogears hd2d remake. With all the xenoblade momentum and the reputation of it will get people's attention quick specially if Takahashi comes on board even as an advisor
Physical games go out of print. If you missed out, you're sol
With Altus, I just hope that the rumors about Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor ReFantazio will come on on the Switch's successor. I find the way some Japanese developers have handled the Switch very confusing, especially with it being the best-selling console of all time in Japan, just recently Harada mentioned that he'd like to release a Tekken game on a Nintendo console, but that hasn't happened since Tag Tournament 2 on the WiiU and I have my doubts Tekken 8 will appear on Nintendo's next console
In regards to Square-Enix, recently some rumors surfaced about Final Fantasy IX remake being "unambitious", I don't know if that means it's not the same scope as the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, though to be fair I didn't expect FFIX remake being a AAA project. The same report said that the remake would be a multiplatform title, which kind of makes sense since I don't think FFIX is that popular compared to other FF games to justify limiting its sale potential to just a single platform
I think it's because a lot of developers in recent years have been more lax about optimization and Switch games tend to require a lot of that due to reduced power.
I'd imagine we might get stuff like Yakuza or Tekken out of a Switch 2 which would be easier for them to do much like how Reload and Metaphor are pretty much guaranteed for it (we know some companies already have dev kits for Switch 2 and since Atlus is under Sega they probably have it.)
@@joaocbcneto I'm not so sure about Yakuza/Like a Dragon, when Nagoshi was in charge of the series, though it seems his successors share the same sentiments, the developers of the Yakuza series have said that they view the Switch as a "day-time" console, basically a console for kids and families and don't think the Yakuza series is a good fit for Nintendo's consoles. Now, this seem like an odd thing to say considering that there's plenty of M-Rated (or C-Rated in the case of Japan) games on Switch, I don't know if they just meant that they can't port new Yakuza games, though some people believe that Nagoshi's team are still angry at Nintendo due to the failure of Yakuza's ports on the WiiU, but that was due to it being released on the freaking WiiU
As for Namco, while there were some rumors that Harada and his team tried to port Tekken 7 on the Switch but they couldn't manage to run the game at optimal conditions, it's kind of weird that they recently announced a port of Namco's Ace Combat 7
Still, perhaps the new Switch will receive more modern games instead of late ports, but we'll have to wait some time
@@joaocbcneto More lax on optimisation? Or have games just become more complicated?
UE4 is just really hard to optimize for Switch.. I think Harada just doesn't want to make Tekken look like a soup just to hit 60 fps (Because framerate is the most important thing in fighting games)... Probably a budget issue as well since they are probably focusing all their resources in supporting the other platforms.
@@NuiYabuko mix of both, we've seen a lot of hard to do games be put to Switch.
We need Harvestella 2, regardless of the producer leaving!!
I am glad leaker Midori is back.
Why? Can't you just wait for official information? Do people really need to give someone fame, who does things the devs don't even want?
Not a fan of Octopath and Triangle. Not enough great unit animations when they're attacking. Not talking about the pixel graphics focus, that is fine, it's a style they've chosen, but compare the animation quality to unicorn overlord - no contest.
Bravely Default is nice but also didn't realise it's full potential. Personally I hate me turn-based RPGs where the characters visual attacks don't even goddamn connect with the enemies. Think every final fantasy up to 7th; same shiet.
Pretty content-free post... just a bunch of baseless speculating about things that aren't even really very newsworthy. I don't know why people make videos like this.
Anyone can figure out why OT was delisted: the publisher has changed and they're sorting it out. There's no big mystery there. It took me about 10 seconds on Google to get the answer.
Most videos seem to boil down to looking like some big news was revealed, then it's just a bunch of speculation. There're like 10 videos on what Monolith will do on the Switch 2, despite there not being any actual news. At least frame the thumbnails and title like they're speculation then and not like some big reveal.
@@NuiYabukoThe title of the video is pretty misleading:
"Nintendo Switch MAJOR RPG News! BIG ATLUS / Persona Info Incoming, Octopath Traveler 3 & More!"
[Nintendo Switch] MAJOR RPG News!
BIG AtlUS / Persona Info Incoming
Octopath Traveler 3
Which of these was covered in the video? Yeah, I realize that a lot of these gaming channels are just hype generators where people float rumors and speculation and talk about reliable leakers but rarely actually have news from said reliable leakers.
It's crazy... I mean, I get that people want to get hyped about all this because the thought of it IS exciting, but since I discovered actual CZcamsrs (@orbalology, @food4dogs) that actually talk more about game collecting and their love of video games, channels like this one seem kind of trite, even though with 118k subscribers, clearly @PlayerEssence is doing something right.
Hate the all digital future😮💨
The lack of a single mention of Triangle Strategy along with OT is… disappointing.
I liked OT, but there’s no question I would burn that series to the ground for another Triangle Strategy.
Triangle strategy was great but Octopath is GOATED, there’s no way that’s a worthwhile trade.
@@ninjakirby777 no question for me. OT is beautiful, but it has serious problems that make even finishing it a slog (the final boss gauntlet just asks too much of the player, and I skipped 2 when I heard it was no better), and ultimately it’s just a great above average classic rpg, of which there are many others to choose from.
TS is a narrative driven tactics game (already much rarer), with a choose-your-own-adventure GoT story bound by a morality system that’s actually subtle. It’s got grind-y elements too, but nothing on OT. I also vastly preferred the characters and story (to the first OT at least).
The worst thing most people can say about TS is that the cutscenes are too long. OT has much deeper structural problems than that
