From finishing 14th on the Premier League table in 2022, Aston Villa are now actively fighting for a top 4 finish this season. It sounds insane when we put it like that, but it’s even more insane when you hear the details of this turnaround.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the story of how Unai Emery transformed Aston Villa.
Villa thought that Steven Gerrard was the messiah after they let go of Dean Smith. The former Liverpool captain had just won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers without losing a single game all season, so Aston Villa swore he was going to take them to the Promised Land, but he did the opposite.
In his first season in charge, Aston Villa finished 14th, 3 places lower than they finished the previous season. That season memorably ended with them bottling a 2-goal lead against Man City which helped the Mancunian club win the league yet again.

First,And this just one of the reasons why Unai Emery is one of the most underrated Managers in history,his recruitment ability, Man managing and relentless drive is what is been exhibited by Aston Villa.Just look at Watkins,McGinn,Matty Cash,Diaby,luiz,Pau Torres and Zainolo are just few of the players who have benefited from Emery's elite Man managing and recruitment

Yeah not Zaniolo yet, Diaby and Pau Torres were already quality. I'd say he's getting the best out of players like McGinn, Watkins, Dougie, Kamara, Konsa, Bailey and Cash.

Unai is a perfect example how a rejection makes a true man, after Arsenal he went to win Europa League with Villarreal and now he came back to PL and takes Aston Villa into absolutely crushing treble winning Man City, even without Rodri the performance of Man City that day could be described by non other word as disaster and yet it is brilliance of this manager, who did a miracle, If Villa get top 4 Emery should be coach of the year, if Villa win trophy then he'll be a living legend of football

NGL, I only knew abt Villa because of Dibu Martinez & the Argenntina team. I haven't been watching football for long and didn't know many of the PL teams - only knew the big ones like Man U, City, Liv, etc. For Villa to be in the top 5 or 6 in PL now is a great feat.

They have dominated the statistics as well. Having 22 shots against the reigning Treble winners is a feat every clubs will never achieved. If City's defense was capitulated, the scoreline could have been bigger!

I watched this video after they beat City and not gonna lie they are good but the premier league is something look at Tottenham and their good run, they failed because of injuries and Villa shouldn't be happy just yet because I don't think they are a team who can really challenge for top 4. Another example of an end in good form was when Arsenal was top of the league for like 2 months then they bottled the league so that's why anything can happen and look City the treble winners are like 6+ points 0f the top and a few weeks ago they were undefeated so yeah anything can happen, we'll just see end of season✔️
