@@TheOfficialOriginalChad Absolutely. That's why so many other companies including Samsung have already tested to make sure no random strangers can fold your tablets in half. Apple should feel ashamed for skipping these tests. 😤
@@TheOfficialOriginalChadI think the idea is the bend test is supposed to give you an idea of how it would hold up if you were to drop it at a weird angle or someone were to accidentally sit or step on it. Sure, this bend test is more extreme than most accidents that are likely to happen, but it does give you a good idea of how durable it is. The last several iPhone models (the 15 pro max not withstanding) never break during the bend test, and my last several iPhones have all been extremely durable. I have the 14, and I must drop it at least 10 times a day, sometimes from a lofted bed onto a wood floor, and nothing. Just saying, Apple could put in that extra time and effort to make their iPads as durable as their phones, especially considering what you’re paying for it. One unfortunate accident and you’re out $2,000.
Honestly, what they should've done is just moved the USB port and microphone hole closer to the corner, instead of the middle, kinda like on the macbooks. That way the weak points wouldn't be exactly where the bend is most intense
This is what I keep saying 😂 stop putting these things in the middle, where it’s most vulnerable to bending if you’re not going to put any structural support behind it. Just like the volume buttons are on the upper third of the iPhone, not in the middle, just move the microphone and charging points to the left and right thirds instead of directly in the middle and you won’t have this problem
I like this relatable situations when i forgot a key or screwdriver in my backpack with the brand new m4 , i think i will just follow my budget and get ipad air 3
That glass finish also affects the brightness of the screen and is super expensive. I would get the regular glass and put a matte screen protector on it instead
I don’t think it’s “soft”. But everything you do polishes it. I had a matte black motorcycle, which I thought was cool. But the towel under the saddle bags eventually polished the rear fender. Probably why Honda rarely does matte bikes. I personally prefer an ultra matte screen. But after my iPhone 11 lost a huge blotch of oleophobic coating, you’re better off achieving the same effect with a screen protector, because it will always polish off.

It’s not a plastic screen protector, it’s textured glass, and he explained in the video that it didn’t get damaged at level 3, it rubbed of particles from the tool, the glass itself was fine. Permanent damage occurred at level 4.
