In a recent video I talked about how I've moved away from Adobe Photoshop completely. Instead, for digital art, I've been using Clip Studio Paint. Clip Studio is one of the most robust digital illustration tools I have ever experienced. Clip Studio has tools that can elevate and completely change your workflow for the better.

Even more tools in Part 2!! czcams.com/video/6t1mcTAmx5I/video.html
i'm late to the party but thank you
I have been using CSP for a long time ago, I didn't know about "Erase on Multiple Layers". Thank you.
Glad this video was helpful!! It blew my mind when I found out about that tool too 😅
Yes. This information was a blessing. Thank you
Same here, I even considered my self an expert on CSP but never noticed the Erase multiple layers.
Add me to the "been using CSP for years and never noticed the multi-layer eraser" club! I was familiar with everything else but I can already tell that alone is going to save my hiney sooo many times in the future.
@@madameberry I spent like 20 mins last week hunting down one single aberrant dot on one layer amongst 50! This is a lifesaver!
I LOVE how it has an entire community that keeps making new tools and instrument to share with others, i found some brushes that are awesome, usefull and time saving
This is the best overview I've seen.
Most videos I find are 20+ minutes and are more or less "how to make your brush bigger or smaller :)" and then jumping to "I just did a 15 step piece where I don't explain how I got here"
I'm glad this was helpful!! I would like at some point to do a more basic introductory video for CSP, for those who need it.
I'm a comics artist and use Vector Layers for all my inking. You can't Fill on a Vector Layer, but Reference Layers and "Area Scaling" help ease the minor inconvenience. ("Fill up to Vector Path" also helps immensely, especially when coloring.) Great video, Maddie! I'm sub'ing.
Ooh I didnt know "fill up to vector path"!
It also has a tooon of time-saving things for comic artists, since it was originally designed for them. The thing where you moved the vector lines by painting over them, was perfection
Symmetry ruler is great for doing front views for character turnarounds, making patterns etc. The perspective rulers are also really useful, but can be a bit complicated to set up the first couple of times.
I'm new to CSP so this is a HUGE help. Thank you CZcams recommendations and thank you for making this video!
THANK YOU I WAS WONDERING HOW TO FIX THE FILL BUCKET AREA
THANK YOU SO MUCH. You uploading this short yet packed video with great info on colouring really helped!!
Madame this video is mad helpful, in a concise fashion, with clear demonstrations. Big ups! I'll be Sharing this friends for real!
Good information...I had no idea about most of these but looooovvveee Clip Studio Paint! Thank you
This was loaded with helpful, a wave of gratefulness to you
This is such a well delivered tutorial, I've learned so much already! Thank you!
I'm so excited! Getting my Pro version tomorrow to start out, but definitely looking forward to upgrading to the EX version as I grow with this! Thank you for this video and the useful tips!
I would like to see more on making selections and fills. Overall I think your videos are great and you present them in a friendly and approachable way.
The erase in multiple layers tool is going to help me so much omg thank you!!
Thank you so much, you have really helped me figure out many of the tools I haven't been using.
Ive been using photoshop since elements back in the late 90's/early 2ks. But with the pandemic I was forced to find a less expensive program and after playing with a friends copy of csp, i fell in love with it.
I love this! I've been using the software for a while and there's still stuff I didn't know like the bucket tool settings, thank you for this video! Also your voice is very sweet
Great tips! Thank you for this overview!
super helpful! love the brushes you showed at the end!
okay this video was 200% better than I would ever expect. Nice work!
Excellent run through some of the features, learnt a load of things, thanks for sharing. Gradient tool is always a favourite and the time-lapse feature which is super useful for tutorials etc
This is probably the most useful video I’ve watched so far, thank you sm!
Totally worth subscribing, I too ditched PS for CSP and I'm still figuring out the program, thanks for the helpful tips! :)
I just bought CSP a week ago and I have so much to learn about it, so this video was extremely helpful to watch! Thank you so much!
CSP is a Beast! Every time I watch another vid, I discover something else! I didn't even KNOW about the erase on multiple layers thing! My faves are the timelapse feature and the animation tools. Plus the brushes are amazing!
Nothing bothers some artists in regards to fill tools more than when they still see other artists make art without filling in the white infilled areas like corners and the edges you mentioned
Im thrilled by how this looks having tried others like you ,I need something thats going to be more flexible for backgrounds and this seems like itll work so thanks
I've been using CSP for awhile and not only was this video informative, but your personality made it all the more enjoyable. I have to subscribe.
Ive been trying to decide between clip studio and open canvas and you just sold me! Nice work!
thank you so much for this vid!! I've been going through a lot of Clip Studio Tutorials and this one is very clear and easy to follow. thank you!
Wow this video is a gold mine, thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video!!!
It's the lasso fill tool for me, thank you for the facts!
thank you so much! sometimes i feel like i lack materials, but really it's lacking experience in knowing what's where!
Answered most of my top questions in the first 2 minutes, thank you!
THANK YOU SM FOR THIS VIDEO!! I've been struggling with using Clip Studio Paint and now thanks to you it will be soo much easier to make art!
I learned multiple things I'm going to start using immediately. Thank you so much!
I didn't know about any of these tips for the sub tools I am glad I came across this. This is a game changer for my art.
Definitely got a new subscriber
These were really helpful tips, thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video. I am still new to CSP and having trouble where to start learning the feature. Your video helping me to mastering the CSP. Already subscribe your channel!
Omg...the Bucket tool info and multiple layer erasing! That helps so much!!
My mind was blown when I discovered erase multiple layers.
One of my favourite tools in CSP, is the correction layer gradient. Its sooo much fun playing around with te gradients and I often find it a good way to change the colour of something in my piece.
Thank you for making this video, I learned some new stuff!
I think this is called gradient maps in other programs, and yes it's one of my favorites!
fantastic! finally some tips and tricks I hadn't heard before! thankyou
thank you very much for the deeper introduction, now im feeling that im less fighting the programm :D
holy crap! I've been using CSP for months but never noticed the "Erase on Multiple Layers" tool. THIS IS GONNA SAVE DO MUCH TIME
thank you so much for this amazing video ! ive learned so much, you're so effective at explaining all of this stuff i thought was too complicated for me to use.. thank you !
IT WORKS!!! Thank you so much you're a lifesaver! 😭❤️
I didn't know how to use vectors! Thank you so so so much!
AI colorizing is also neat if you need to quickly color whole scene in the background
Ah, I completely forgot about that! I use it all the time to make color mockups for traditional paintings.
Is there a right way to use it? For me it normally doesn’t stick to the lines and ruins colors
It does the same for me. It's not perfect and it's not meant as the final coloring.
This video is AWESOME!! thanks!
Super helpful! Thank you!!
WHOA, I've been coloring for a year after drawing for a decade, and finally sitting down to watch this, it was a game changer for me!! Thank you!!
This is so useful, great video!
thank you for the video!! i am pleased to have learned something new. i always appreciate more intermediate to advanced feature videos because there are honestly too many beginner tutorials. i always feel talked down to in most ""intermediate to advanced"" videos that just talk about clipping masks and other basic features. i already have an understanding of the program which is why i clicked an 'advanced' tutorial. this video is refreshing!!!
Glad to have helped!!
wow thank you! your tips are very helpful ☺
very nice tutorial, thanks!
Thank you! Had forgotten about the 3D model library!
I have had clip studio for years and already knew all of these tips, but I still watched the video because I always enjoy seeing more artists ditch the darkness that is PS and come into the shining glory of CSP. The program has never let me down and I doubt it ever will.
Hey! Thanks so much for this video!
I just recently made the switch from Photoshop into clip studio without even looking back once!! Your tip about the 3d model for posing left my jaw on the floor. I don't know why I didn't switch sooner!! My workflow has been cut down easily by half! No joke! Love this program!!!!
OMG THANKS SO SO MUCH THIS HELPED!!!
Very useful info! Thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!
Oh my gosh, Thank you so much for this tutorial! You really helped me alot since I'm new to Clip studio!
Glad to help! I have a more beginners video in the works too. 😊
this is such a great video!!! thank you so much 💓
Thanks, I'd never know how easier my workflow could ever be without this video. :)
There's a part 2 available as well!
literally every question i was struggling with yesterday answered in one video god BLESS
Glad to be helpful!!
Thank god. Been looking for this kind of video for an hour
That was great. Thank you.
I am only two minutes in and this video has truly been an eye opener. Thank You!!!!!
Thanks for the tips~
Yes to the video for new users video. I used to use photoshop over a decade ago, but I'm still new to it
Omg you found the sub-view option! I've been looking for that! Than you so much
I would love to see a getting started video for CSP!
I'm starting to learn it and I love it, and this video helped a lot!
I'd love to see more of this!
I actually just published that video today!! 😄
OMG THE SUB WINDOW THING IS MY NEW FAVORITE THING THANK YOUUUU
Wow! I'm relatively new to CSP and have been doing many things the hard way - thanks for some awesome tips!!! :)
Seriously, your style is BEYOND beautiful. How are you not more popular!?!? Subscribed.
Aww thank you!! 😊
What a great video! I've learned a lot even if I already know CSP😂 I really love the watercolor brush that's just stunning, no software makes it so satisfying as CPS
Glad this video was helpful!!
Ok! This is cool! I'm now to digital art and drawing in general, I'm going to watch this some more times. Really helpful!
I have a few more videos up as well, including a beginner video and a part 2 of this one!
Thank you so much for so much useful information! I found out so many things and I can’t wait to use all those tools 🥰 didn’t even know clip studio paint was so handy
Glad you found the video helpful! Clip Studio really is a powerful program.
As someone moving from pencil and paper drawing onto CSP, I've had to kind of had to learn as I go. I've been looking through a lot of YT tutorials on the program with not a lot of success (most videos seem to assume you already know the ins and outs of the application) but I found that just your video has pointed out a lot of essential bits very simply and clearly! It has helped a lot of getting some small degree of control for the program and I do very much appreciate the help the video has given (even though it was not intended as such!)
I'm so glad this video was helpful! There's lots more tips in the comments, and I'm also working on a more basic video as well.
Really well done video and informative A.F.! A couple of absolute game changers for me. Thank you!
Glad the video was helpful!
OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR ALL THESE INCREDIBLE TIPS! I'M HAVING A BLAST JUST BY HOW INTUITIVE EVERY ASPECT IT'S! One of the greatest digital artists could ever ask for and more. Thank you once again!
Definitely trying out the poses next time!
One CSP brush I’m pretty fond of is Real Wooden Pencil. As the name implies, it actually comes pretty close to the feel of sketching with a genuine pencil, especially if you’re like me and like to roll the side a bit for gradients.
this was rly helpful! ive been using clip studio paint for about two years and there are still tools that i didn’t know abt lol. thank you for uploading!!
great video, thank you so much
I stumbled across your videos by searching for clip studio help videos, and I must say... your videos are some of the best if not the best tutorial videos with your pronunciation of your words perfectly used for anyone to learn and catch on. And the substance of your videos are exactly what people need to learn and catch on. thank you so much, I hope you make 1M from CZcams
Thank you! Glad my videos have been helpful 😊
OMG Thank you ! Specifically about that multiple eraser
When I found it I was like 😲
Excellent. Thanks 🙏
I have been using clipstudio since december last year and I didn't know some of these! ¡Amazing, thank you so much!
god, i was JUST looking up on csp ask on how to get rid of the little white jagged lines when you use the fill tool. No one gave me a straight answer, thank you. this makes my life so much easier.
I draw rather messily and i ALSO use a textured brush, same as you, so it was great to see that i dont have to painfully struggle to do flats. (because i am lazy).
Glad I could help!! I still use the lasso fill tool sometimes where the regular fill tool doesn't quite make it all the way.
I've been using CSP basically ever since I started digital art around 5 years ago. At one time I wasn't able to use CSP and went to search for another drawing software. I never realised how useful CSP was until I had to switch programs. CSP has some insane features and it just keeps getting better.
yooo I’ve been drawing my entire life but I only started doing digital art like six months ago and let me tell you it’s been a JOURNEY. I got the basics now but I was so overwhelmed at first and I don’t really have the patience to sit down and watch a whole instructional video, so this was PERFECT for me because you showed some neat (and seriously useful) features and i didn’t lose focus or get distracted. some of these tools are gonna CHANGE MY LIFE. lol. thanks for the great video!!
I'm glad this video was so helpful for you!!
this was super helpful I've been using csp for a long while and didn't know about some of these
Thank you!
Great stuff thanks
I love that you can use the sub tool to show another piece of art you are working on, like a comic, so you can use it for making sure the colors are correct.
