    FINALLY!!!! 🫨🫨🫨🫨🫠 of all the YT tuts I’ve watched you have ABSOLUTELY hit the nail on the head with the Object Tool functions for colour holds and line adjustments, line weight, style; everything! 💥 you need a medal!! 🥇

    I stubbornly used raster layers for my entire artist carreer but this video was exactly what I needed to finally push me to use vector layers. That vector erase and object tool are going to change my life since I have very tapered lines and it's very annoying to use any magic wand/bucket tool because of it. Thanks a lot, subbed!

    Okay, you just got a sub from me. I drive myself nuts doing things manually and constantly ctrl+z when I don't get my brush strokes just right when doing line art. I never thought about using vector layers to do my lines. THANK YOU!

    A great tutorial for vector line use and covering allot of the bases for how useful they are! I do have a quick extra tip which kinda sits between the 2. Object Tool and 3. Transform tool.
    If you want to avoid having to use the lasso tool to select the vector lines to move around, you can grab multiple vector lines or un-grab vector lines with the Operation > Object tool. You can either in the Tool Property area you can change the selection mode to add or remove lines, and then click on the lines you want, or hold shift and click on lines will add them to your selection. This will allow you to grab the lines you want without having to rely on being accurate with your lasso tool! You can also hit delete to then remove any selected lines if you needed to!

    I have 2 video suggestions for Clip Studio Paint.
    *1)* I’d love to see a video on how to quickly do flats. I wonder what’s the quickest & easiest way to get flatting done in CSP, and also how to keep all the flats layers organized.
    *2)* The second video I’d suggest is one on color picking and creating color palettes for our characters & backgrounds.
    Thank you for the many helpful videos that you have shared with us 🙏🏻☺️

      @@Shyfoxx Thank you! Sounds good ☺️
      Flatting is probably the least fun part of creating colored artwork, but it’s one of the most important parts, because it creates the foundation for laying down the rest of the colors. I would love to get some tips on getting the flats done faster, and properly organizing the layers in order to make the rest of the coloring process easier.
      As for creating color palettes, which include colors for the shadows, midtones, and highlights, I think this part is a bit subjective because it depends on the artist’s coloring style. But it would still help to get some tips on how to make it work, in order to create a color palette that looks more cohesive & harmonious.
      These are just my suggestions, but I’d be happy to check out whatever digital art videos you decide to share. Your tips on how to make the process of digital art faster & easier have been very helpful to me.
      So thank you!!! 😊❤️

    Hi Shy 🦊! Do you have any general input on line widths you use for each aspect of your lineart?
    Ik it probably depends on the drawing and style, but as someone getting used to working digitally I feel lost without some base numbers as a starting point! I would love a walkthrough of one of one of your linework- heavy pieces just notating the line widths relative to each other 🤓
    Thanks for everything! You've helped me improve so much, especially in rekindling my confidence and enjoyment of practicing.

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 2 měsíci +1

      In terms of actual numbers for the widths I can't give that because different canvas sizes will change how wide it looks.
      In general, larger objects get thicker lines. Smaller objects and smaller details get thinner lines. Hope this helps!

    @Shyfoxx Art Hi, so I've been using this program a bit and it's great, much better than Photoshop or Blender for drawing. Is there a way to make a quick access or hotkey or shortcut for cycling through and selecting tool properties? I'm finding it a bit time consuming to have to click on the different tool settings manually. For example, in the Correct Line Tool I have to constantly switch between narrow and thicken and other settings. It would be great if there was something on the keyboard I could press to cycle through all the modes. Is that possible?

    • @PPLilx
      @PPLilx Před 2 lety +1

      @@Shyfoxx just how todo it in general like I know base colour then a little darker colour then go over it with white for lighter and black for the darker bits but I can’t seem to get the shape/ reflections / shiny and clear it just looks dark dull even though there is shade. (I’m sorry if that don’t make sense)

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 2 lety +1

      @@PPLilx it made complete sense yeah, so sounds like you want to bring your coloring to life rather than just basic shading. Thanks for the tutorial! Is there a 'pen' version of the continuous line tool? I'm transiting from SAI to CSP and this was a feature the former had where you can draw a line with your pen and it would have all the control points on it rather than manually clicking with the curve tool.

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I would say no, not like paint tool sai has. Paint tool sai was definitely the best tool for the continuous curve. I recall you can do a similar continuous curve in CSP, but the problem is that the lines then have way too many control paints that you can't actually manipulate the lines afterwards.

    • @OverlordIX
      @OverlordIX Před 3 měsíci

      @@Shyfoxx Ah thats a real shame. I'm so used to that feature in SAI. A friend did suggest doing the lineart in SAI, and then importing it to CSP to do the rest.
      In any case, thanks so much for the reply!

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 3 měsíci

      @OverlordIX no problem! Not sure if this is helpful either, but I used to use the continuous curve tool in Sai for years, but as I got better I stopped using it entirely as my hand movements drawing with a pen became better, and it was also way faster. Perhaps in time you'll prefer using the pen tool too in time. It definitely will be the fastest method if speed is important to you.

      When something is printed it's exported as an image file instead of a .psd or .csp file, so layers are all merged. Could be printed as a TIFF, JPEG or PNG for example. Even PDF is useful.

    What version of Clipstudio do you have cause the settings and options layout of certain tools arent even there like the slider for the stabilizer and the brush shape and free transform for the box tool

    what resolution/dpi do you normally use?

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 2 měsíci

      300 dpi for anything I intend to print. 90 dpi would be a minimum for anything else, like for uploading online.

      My video explains the node thing during the 5th tip. It'll give some options on what you can do. So you can use tools mentioned there or I highly recommend making corrections with the object tool using free transform explained in tip 2 ignoring nodes all together. Good luck!

      I'm going to make a line art brush video in the next couple weeks. So as of now no list yet, but I thought it deserves its own video, go over settings and options for line art styles. 🤗

    Is there a substitute app for lineart like this on Android other then CSP? I buy CSP on PC since it only one time purchase, but on Android they only available for subscription base, to heavty for me to pay it every month.

      Not that I know for android. The only thing with fantastic lineart capabilities is Paint tool sai 2. But thats for PC last I checked

    Do you have a video where you go over your pen settings? I've found most of my g-pen lines look clunky, instead of getting the nice tapered ends yours have.

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 2 lety +1

      That's a good question, funny enough I used my 'Lighter Pencil' with full opacity for this line art. I just like that it's softer when I draw lighter. But I'll address that in my next video about choosing a lineart brush, but not sure how in depth I'll be able to go, so this may need to have its own video all together. I'd experiment with different brushes. But idea for you! You can change the brush after the fact (tip 2 of this video using the object tool) so you could literally try changing the look and tool after the fact to see what looks best.

      @@Shyfoxx I spent a lot of time neglecting pencils, they've definitely been growing on me! Is your lighter pencil a unique asset, or is it just a variation of the provided pencil?

    • @Shyfoxx
      @Shyfoxx  Před 2 lety +1

      It's just a basic pencil, I believe it comes with CSP, but I try not to use anything fancy so that I can easily teach people. A basic non textured pencil at higher opacity is what I recommend to do what did
