    I love how thin it is. I'm a huge GShock and ProTrek fan but have never had an Edifice. Now I'm interested in this one. Sapphire is huge btw.

      I always prefer sapphire when I could get it. Better scratch resistance.

    I great video and I just got this watch at a great price. I wanted an Edifice with the octagon bezel. But this bezel seem to have a plastic bezel and not metal like the other model that naybbebtte previous. It’s a very attractive watch with all tte great features.

    Hi I have a query.
    I have never used black chain watches. I'm afraid of getting them scratched. So I use silver chain watches because the scratches are not easy to see. But I like this one. So my question is whether it will hold scratches or are scratch resistant?

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 2 lety

      Its not a DLC coating, and these are lower cost watches. I don't wear black watches daily, and don't have many issues with scratching, but that's not to say they couldn't if used and abused. I would say they would scratch like any stainless steel, the black may make it more noticeable like a black car shows everything so much more than a gray car. I hope that helps.

    Thanks Doug for the review on the Casio edifice eqb 1100 -I do have that watch and was wondering if there was a way to turn the volume up on the alarm ?? It goes off but can barely hear it -thanks Charlie

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching Charlie, Unfortunately not many good alarms on digital watches like this. the speaker is so small, and the more tech inside, the lower the volume. This is why I say over and over that I wish they would put vibrate in more watches.

    • @rohant2110
      @rohant2110 Před 2 lety +2

      Exactly...and no one is pointing that out. It is so disappointing that such an important feature is not the amongst the top priorities for so many people.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you, yes the links are solid, these links use the pin and collar system as opposed to the tiny springboard on other models.

    Hello, I just got this watch and all my watch hands are on the 12 o’clock position. I try to pair the watch to iPhone 13 Pro Max but when I hold down the B button the hands don’t move. Do I need to let it charge before they can start moving? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před rokem +2

      It was probably in the box for a long time. Sit it in the window for a few hours and the charge should get you up and running.

      @@DougFNJ thank you for the quick reply. That was my first thought. I got this watch at a great price of $160 from ShopHQ and couldn’t turn it down. This is my 3rd Casio Edifice and all my watches are sapphire crystal and solar so this was for the price was a no brainer! Watch runs for at least $350 so I really hope that it can get plenty of sunlight tomorrow and that it starts working. But thank you again for the advice and will follow up hopefully with good news 🤞🏼

  • @tommyboydmd9941
    @tommyboydmd9941 Před 3 lety +1

    Is that a proprietary band on the Edifice such that trying to swap for another band is virtually impossible? This is a problem on many of the Oceanus models, which is a deal breaker for me.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 3 lety

      You could take the band off, but with how thin this watch is, I don't know how other straps would look.

    • @tommyboydmd9941
      @tommyboydmd9941 Před 3 lety

      @@DougFNJ I'm referring to the shape of the band. Casio is notorious for creating curves or notches where the bands meet the lugs. In these cases, a standard watch band/bracelet won't fit.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, and as opposed to Atomic Timekeeping, it’s able to update on the fly. Atomic tends to be very hot or miss.

    How's the battery life on one of those? Does it adjust the date as well, if the month is shorter?

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  Před 2 lety
