  • Unlike regular toe-boxes that are pointed and provide little room for toe-splay, the barefoot shoe design prioritizes toe-alignment. These wider and more "foot-shaped" shoes can be particularly helpful for bunion treatment and prevention.

I wear crocs (one with no holes) at work (I stand in a lab all day) wear Vibram five Fingers at home (hard flooring) and Freet shoes when in the gym (with Correct toes sometimes) and correct toes in socks when i sleep (so that it doesn't move about) but I still wear Asics Gel Nimbus 25 in a 4E width when i run (which is suprisingly wide and accommodating in the midfoot and toebox, just leave a thumbs width and utilise the runners knot to avoid heel slips) and also I still wear Basketball shoes (though I have to up a size and go for the widest model and have a mid cut to avoid the heel slip going up a size) when i play basketball, feet and ankles are still not flexible and strong enough to absorb forces and need a little drop 6-8 mm at the mo, to push off without aggravating Achilles at speeds, cutting accelerating. Give it a couple of more years than maybe i will be able too play basketball and run at speed in a barefoot, but still transitioning , every thing else im in footshaped or zerodrop ...

I just bought Crocs Bistro for work (at a hospital) which is my first shoe purchase to help grow into letting my toes spread out.
I've always worn sandals but I wore a lot of boots and sneakers and I've experienced ingrown nails and bunions since age 13 and I'm 21 now.
I want stronger feet so I can walk longer and just have a healthier body.
Any tips on strengthening my flat feet?

The tiny toe box is my biggest pet peeve I hate them and can’t stop thinking about my feet wearing shoes. It’s soo unhealthy and it’s annoying because so many shoes fit this description. I try to wear jandals or sandals as much as possible, or I specifically ask for wide shoes to help.

Yes, once you know how the toes get constricted in most shoes, it’s painful to watch everyone walking around in them. But on a positive note, it serves as good motivation for making and sharing these videos. Most people just aren’t aware of these things.

I wear shoes for about two hours a day everyday and the rest of the day I'm Barefoot

@barefootstrength I live in New Zealand, and that's how some of us walk around. My big toes do not point towards the other toes they never have. Not wearing shoes puts you closer to mother nature, to let the earths vibration move through you. Wearing any kind of footwear only blocks this from happening.
