I don't necessarily think it would have changed the outcome, but you got passed a Chandra and Glorybringer that you didn't even mention when you already had multiple R/G dual lands and 1-drop accelerants. Seems like those could have been decent considerations. I also felt like maybe it was worth considering mulliganing in the 2nd and 3rd games. Normally it would seem crazy to mulligan double accelerant + 5-drop, but like you mentioned, it's not really a 5-drop that is good to ramp into on turn 3, and your deck has some broken combos in it that can stand toe to toe with the broken stuff the opponent is doing that you don't have any of the pieces of (fastbond + fetch or zuran orb + crucible/ramunap, strip + crucible/ramunap + 1-drop accelerant, sol ring + upheaval, fastbond + draw 7's).
Your hands in game 2 and 3 were both very functional, but were also both pretty far away from doing anything busted, which makes me think it's worth at least considering the mulligan. Still seems close though.
41:45 could Conscripts a land and then sacrifice it to the Orb. Gaining the life and perhaps stranding a white spell seems more appealing than dealing 6
Love that classic Reid background soundtrack
I think Sylvan safekeeper should be picked on the wheel here. With Titania it should often win, but with fastbond, crucible or excavater its also a better channel. Saccing a land to protect ramunap/omnath/6 drop also seems good. Even if not maindecked I think its a good sideboard option.
at 34:20 I'd be curious to know the reasoning not to use Kogla to bounce the Zealous, stealing a construct and eating the other with Kogla's attack trigger giving you a lethal swing instead of Ravine's activation? great vids as always though! :)
That sail in last game, tryin to hit like fastbond, seems like it would be worth no?
Don't think there were any outs at that point, he would have to tap out for sail and wouldn't have any mana to play fastbond.
Safekeeper is for titania combo
This deck deserved more, tough 1st match opponent
Wasteland over Urza's Saga seems like a huge mistake with how heavy your landtheme is; having a landbased win condition is just immensely valuable, when you can search lands up, and you even have a Sol Ring to search up. And Saga is just plain strong even on its own. And you already have Strip Mine and ways to find it so Wasteland isn't really that useful.
US is really a blue artifact card more then anything. Doesn´t do much in a landsdeck and while WS isn´t SM you can´t depend on deawng that every game. Also Us for SL isn´t even that great since at that point it´s a bit late anyway
Agreed, that's the worst mistake reed made here I think, saga was so good in this deck, and wasteland is not that impressive if you already have strip.
Also, passing a free crop seems like a bad idea too.
Reid's inexperience on Vintage Cube really shows in this one. bit hard to watch
I fail to see the logic behind LD in a format with so many mana rocks. Should’ve just leaned into blue green :[
Absolute tragedy. GL in the next one.
