    I'm confused. In, I believe game 3, round 1, LSV mulls and has a hand with opal, opal, saga, ritual, entomb. He draws a third opal, plays saga and passes, then the following turn draws a bowmaster, plays an opal then passes.
    Couldn't he play the saga, play the three opals, tap one for black, cast dark ritual adding 3 black, spend 2 black on orcish bow masters, use the last floating black to cast entomb, entomb echo of eons, tap the other 2 opals for blue and the saga for colorless to flashback echo?

      Maybe it's to Bargain it with Beseech the mirror? Could also just be late game cantrip and stabilize with life gain.. but honestly is there no other better artifact to saga for?

    • @yongestation_
      @yongestation_ Před 27 dny

      the theory is you just want at least one non-mana saga target and there just aren't that many that fit the deck. since you're usually only grabbing whatever goes into that slot when you're flooded this effect is marginally better than a chromatic star or whatever. he mentions lavaspur boots probably being a better target at the end of the video.

    • @travismccartney
      @travismccartney Před 26 dny

      It has great synergy with LED, gives you some much needed selection and the life gain is sometimes important. With lavaspur boots, it isn't a often the choice, but it is still a fine card to have much of the time.

    I fail to see how Haywire Mite is an effective sideboard card on the draw in a game 2 when we can't create green mana in any way after a Chalice on 0. Wouldn't a 2nd Surge Node just be better? Sure we an slip it into play if they don't have the turn 1 Chalice but then we're basically already winning anyway.

    • @lane9668
      @lane9668 Před 27 dny +5

      disagree. it has enough topdecks that just win the game immediately, and saga beatdown is extremely reliable. cantripping requires more colors of mana, and reduces the density of fast mana, which makes echo significantly weaker.

    • @LucianDevine
      @LucianDevine Před 27 dny

      @@lane9668 Not to mention that the deck is focusing HEAVILY on speed since it has no way to interact with the opponent when they don't go first. When your disruption is minimal, you just need to be fast. So it's made to try and win early on the play or force the game into topdeck mode with a single Beseech likely winning the game.

These days I refuse to watch CFB videos because your thumbnails make my stomach sick. Really hope the analytics and bringing new people MTG content are worth driving away old farts like me that hate how you present yourself.
