This guy grew up in hard conditions, moved to another country and was homeless to chase his dream, lost his fist title fight and looked inexperienced then came back and did what he did to Stipe.. then everything that went into the Gane fight and he wins after being down the first 2 rounds.. then he does this..
You couldn't write a movie about someone like this without it seeming unrealistic. This man is simply amazing. And damn Dana's ego is so fragile it's insane.

There are four major issues I see with Francis in Boxing. 1. Defence boxing defence is completely different, Francis has a very open guard when he throws punches this would be perfect for an easy counter 2.He's going from 4oz to 10oz gloves meaning his power is not going to be as great and he's going up against people who take punches for a living making this a greater issue 3. Punch rate, in MMA punch rate is much lower due to a mirad of factors such as you can kick, grapple and also to avoid kicks and grappling you don't want to be throwing to many punches in the pocket 4. Stamina we've seen much lighter weight MMA people really struggle with stamina passed round 6 - 8, Francis being heavyweight will probably be even worse.

Keep it real and just say we lost the bid, Someone is paying more and end it there.

There just isn't the same profits in MMA as boxing. It became very difficult to have to drag out negotiations for each fight, So that is why the UFC often will push for a 3 fight contract, so they have some control over the process. And at the end of they day they are a business and need to have some stability in running that business. On the other hand their are plenty of negative things I could say about Dana White, but I don't work for him so it doesn't matter.

I truly support Francis taking a stand but I do feel he made a mistake attaching his fighters welfare with his contract negotiations. By doing that there was no way he was going to be left satisfied. Fighter welfare won’t change without a fighters union. Contract negotiations should have been done separately, that’s why I do understand him saying it felt like Dana trying to shut him up with cash. It’s clear his personal demands in terms of salary were met except the other terms. Boxing is an even harder sport to negotiate with crooked promoters and agents.

Dana had to let him go...otherwise every other fighter would make demands

If jones comes in with a true hunger he's going to rag-doll everyone anyway probably (coming from a guy who's hoped jones would lose since the matt hamil / shogun fights many years ago.)
