I felt a great reckoning in the Market today. As if millions of Milwaukee Packout fanboys suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
But in all seriousness, Tough Built has hit one out of the park with their new stack tech system. True to name this system is built tough from the ground up with innovative features laced throughout. Milwaukee pack-out has been put on notice as of today when these launched at Lowe's with buy more savings already attached.
Thanks again to Tough Built for sending these over for review we can't wait to see what they do next.

I am loving this new system. Kudos to Toughbuilt for looking at what others are doing and going a bit better, at a price point that makes sense. I am very excited about the future for this system. I love drawers for these things! For carpentry, this means I can put the Kreg jig in a box with all the bits and attachments for the full kit. I can put my jig saw in a box with all it's bits and bobs. And the track saw can live in another box. What I'd love to see is an attachment system for track saw rails. I think with the StackTech side rails, this is now possible. Keep it coming, Toughbuilt!! I'll have a complete mobile carpentry system in no time. :)
Not having drawers at launch is kind of a bummer
I agree. If the rolling box with the large drawer was available I would have been first in line.
I hear you i that. As a Ryobi fan, it was disappointing to get our own green rolling toolboxes but with only 3 tool boxes and a milk crate at launch, it wasn’t much of a platform to get excited about. Several months later the other basics that should have at least been made ‘coming soon’ at launch were shown - storage organizers, drawers, and a dolly - but the enthusiasm was long gone by then.
This ToughBuilt launch is better but still a little incomplete without drawers.
Rigid has not had drawers for YEARS💀
It’s all about the drawers. Stacking boxes are dumb, maybe 1 or 2 small cases on top of your drawers.
@KZ-yy9pm I think there's some value to being able to stack them, particularly for storage and transportation. That being said, the bottom tool box should always be a drawer so you can access everything without having to disassemble the whole stack. I think I'm going to reorganize my tools and put the most often used ones up top and put the beefier tools that don't see regular use at the bottom.
Just when you think ToughBuilt can’t impress us anymore, they come up with this awesome system!
I am fairly impressed with what you showed. Its like they looked at the packout system, fixed most of the things that are wrong with that system, and improved the design some more. I just hope the drawers and the mobility options deliver when they come out.
The one accessory you didn't know is probably an extension cord keeper. I don't have uses for stacking boxes in my job. The drawers are what make it worth it for me along with the accessories. This is cool and the first to get me thinking about a pack out system.
Yes, you can se it at 31:15
You can get the Milwaukee hand cart which has a blank base and build with drawers from the bottom up. Fixed handle that doesn't telescope but super stiff and solid like a dolly for handling a heavy stack.
I've never been a fanboy of Anything...until Now. A few months ago I was looking for a new set of framing bags. Looking around on Amazon, I came across the Toughbuilt line. I was mildly impressed, so I ordered a set that was comperable to my, then current, set. After getting them and configuring them to my liking, I used them for a day and went from Mildly Impressed to Extremely Impressed. ANd now I this video of the current lineup and future releases...Ya Got Me. Now I'm a fanboy. SO much so, that I've got my Fiance, who is in the trades, really interested in them as well. I might even be able to get her company to to use their system for the vehicles. Thank You for the great review and video.
Good vid, cool stuff!
Btw, the unknown accessories were Ext cord hooks. One of the pictures showed it.
Saw these yesterday when I was wondering around Lowe's. I was impressed with the handles and latches. Super solid build from the way it felt. Definitely going to keep an eye out for what is to be released.
They really went all out on this. Highly intrigued.
WOW! GREAT REVIEW! I was super excited to see the new modbox - I LOVE the color and hoped it would be a great system but it's actually, kinda boring. But WOW the Toughbuilt system really is an exciting system. What they have now is pretty cool but what's to come is really exciting and going to make this system epic!! Seems like they've done some really deep thinking and I love the ways they're making it customizable. Thanks again for the detailed review!
Just bought all the pieces except for the bag and organizers. One of the best boxes if not the best I own. Can’t wait for the accessories.
Extremely well thought out! Super accessorization shows ToughBuilt's commitment to their system. Beats Milwaukee's PackOut on price and especially on the corner hitch points. Can't wait to invest in this system. Oh, and GREAT PRESENTATION, TOOL BEAR !!!. Shine on!
Those drawers look sweet for the long distance paper punching! I wish they had them now. Also the garage set up looked very interesting.
Nice review! I just picked up these boxes and love them.
Just take my money! Seriously so excited for this. I've been holding out on investing in a packout system. I'm team red, but they have thought of everything here. That pull out articulated truck rack is amazing! The van setup and garage wall setup is very nice.
Packout has a first aid kit. They also released a 4 drawers and 3 drawers. I don't have packout. I might get some packout i want some drawer boxes.
I'm excited for the under the workbench drawer system. I could definitely use that.
Im still waiting on rigid to expand their line planned at the end of the year 😢
What more is coming for the Ridgid system?
@@ekjswimhave you seen they have a bottom roller 3 drawer comming out?
@jordanarizon4089 and hopefully just the drawer by itself too as an option if u don't need the wheels, but I'm hoping this leak has more stuff coming cuz they needed to expand rigid a long time ago
@@benjaminmasters5375
The dolly detaches from the box. You can attach it to the XL box or drawer box.
I really like the bottom of the lid. Those little holes look like pretty decent ways to mount lid organizers for small and light tools
Great video. Excited about the broad capabilities of this system.
I'm so tempted to go ham into this... I agree on the first aid kit though. The one time I had been working with a friend and we didn't have one, I ended up taking an axe to my left foot. Ruined my Red Wing boots, but they probably kept it from being worse. Either way: always have a first aid kit in your vehicle!!!
Love the 4 drawer unit! This should be a common thing.
Bought it, love it, can't wait for the drawers and shelf plates
Great video, thanks for all the info!
I'm excited for the hitch mount to run on the back of the race car. Or may use ir ro set up to mount to an aluminum race trailer. Gotta have the drawers.
The 4 drawers are what I'm most interested in! We'll see if it'l be short enough to fit under the tonneau cover on the truck for easy tailgate access.
Love the modular design they offer, the future looks very IMPRESSIVE,
Around Black Friday I finally had a lot of time to work on my work vehicle and upgrade the lack of storage.
The number one thing I was looking for was drawers. IMO the Toughbuilt Stacktech system is a better system than Packout, but at the time, no drawers for Toughbuilt so I purchased 12 different style Packout drawer boxes and several other Packout boxes.
Toughbuilt should’ve known to include drawers in their launch.
IMO they’re loosing a lot of customers the way they’re launching the products. The drawers should be a priority.
Looks like a fabulous system Jeff. I keep most everything in stationary boxes so I don't really have a need for these. I love the review! ❤❤❤😊😊
I am planning my entire work shop off this concept. Tools, camping gear, electrical- plumbing storage parts, gun range setup ect. This system is what I have been waiting for!!
Looks like a great system. How do you find these plastic tool storage systems (speaking all brands here) hold up in the heat of eg Nevada / Arizona ?
Thanks for the video! As soon as you started creating hype for these, I knew a Packout buy more save more was coming. Sure enough, there's one going right now lol
Real sharp stuff…I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Milwaukee and SBD boardroom when this was announced. Flex seemed to take a page and pretty much do a direct copy of Packout…sure, some updates and changes of course, but it looks more similar than any other brand. This isn’t a huge deal but I would like to have seen a carry handle on top of the medium and large boxes. I know it has them on the sides and front but carrying them flat(like how they are transported on the rolling box) keeps everything relatively in place. Again, not a big deal, but more of a quality of life thing.
What batteries are the vacuum and light going to use?
Great review , I'm on the fence of waiting for Rigid drawers...
I think the item after the light around the 28 minute mark is for wrapping extension cords.
Great comprehensive review - what is the weight of the bottom rolling base?
On the organizer box, can you remove those dividers and put 4 more yellow bins in there?
What is the time frame for the bench accessories?
Big fan of toughbuilt, I enjoy the large tool tote and the cliptech electricians pouch
Interesting that the graphics for the the fan, lights and vacuum don't show a cord. I'm assuming they're not introducing a new battery platform.
Great work. Hole punch as well! You ever need reach out!!
I was HF... today i noticed they carry some toughbuilt products. They had there knee pads.
28:40 that's for bundling a cord, you can see it used in their full loadout image
Great Video!
Wow...if all of these things are going to really come out, I think this system will take over the stack box market and possibly home cabinet/cart system as well. After seeing how they hold up they could easily move into the professional systems. For light duty/home use they should hold up, but a hard hat site...will have to wait and see.
I can easily see any type of traveling vendor with these, to carry their supplies, inventory, etc. It could also be used for product displays using those side attachment options. The option to have a usable on site space to work on product, (customize, create new, etc.) , be a cash drawer, and its lockable. With that gurney kit, this system is nearly perfect for everyone.
People throwing responsible adult beverage large group meetings dreams come true with those stackable drink coolers with taps.
Make sure that gurney doesn't damage the back of an SUV when its pulled out and soccer moms will want it for their time to bring drinks & snacks, tailgaters (sports version), street vendors, convention vendors,...could be used as luggage,...maybe.
Looking at the gurney system, it seems the wheels hover the leg rail about an inch off the surface of the bed, so with all 4 wheels it should just perfectly roll in and out without dragging the leg shafts on the bottom.
You're so right. The amount of industries which this system could be used for is numerous. I'm looking forward to seeing the gurney rack come out. That would be so slick to slide in and out of my truck bed.
Do you know if they will have a system yo mount in trailer or pick up truck? Would be real good.
The drawer boxes give me tingly feelings...
Nice video, but did I miss comments about warranty? Could the more expensive have a better warranty? or are they all 1 year?
IPxy Intrusion Protection, x is solids like dust and dirt falling or pressurized, y is water falling to spray from various angles to immersion . If 'x' is not specified it will appear as an 'x' (e.g. IPx5 - level 5 water protection). If 'y' is not specified it might be left off or specified as an 'x' (IP3 and IP3x mean the same - level 3 dust protection).
Actually Milwaukee small organizer box will fit on crate and then you can stack on it. I use the thin full size box as a lid for crate
Are there going to be tray inserts for this system? I prefer a tray to hold some of my power tools in the case
Did anyone notice the electrical toughbuilt tools that they just glanced at us real quick when you showing the magnetic plate wow 💯🇺🇸😎
Tool Time, Tool Time ! This Takes Tools to a Whole Nutha Level!!! Great Video! Subscribed!
Shots fired at 27:30 lol. Btw im an electrician and an emt. Already put together a first aid kit in my stack, cant wait for them to release the real one.
Have they mentioned how these things will be powered? I assume corder and traditional batteries since they don't have a tool line...
This is a great set of boxes. It is not tool manufacturer specific, sothere will probably be a few things lacking, such as Manufacturer specific tool mounts. Like M18 holder. But, that leaves a great market for people to sell manufacturer addons.
Didn't see a baseplate on their website. Used two on my rock crawler from Milwaukee, worked great.
What are they made of and where are they made?
The main thing is Are they going to follow though with delivery of All those ideas or stop half way through. Hope they deliver on promise
Looks like a good strong system!!! Great job big bear!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Im.sorry but I think this system as a whole is incredible. The bottom wheeled drawer, genius. The integrating garage system, beautiful.. Love also how there original bags attach to there new
systems. Dont even get me started on that truck, gurny type dolly, And the convertible hand truck. Excellent. . Seems very well thought
out. Just one BIG thing missing (for me). Radio??????
could always custom mount which ever battery platforms radio you're using onto the side of the stack. As someone who does a lot of 3d printed modifications, i'm going to have a field day with these packs.
Noticed a reply below of the wood deck... could mount a radio, or chargers, on a wood deck and put on top.
If your taking the toughbuilt into a house you probably should put tape around wheels to keep carpet clean and cheap laminate floors from scratches
That latching mechanism is 🔥🔥🔥
A locking lid for the crate would be great, in case you don't want to use a tool box to do it!
That's what the wood service part is for lock that in top of the crate.
You could put together a nice range cart with Ammo cans, first aid and coolers.
Where can we find dimensions?
You didn’t show if the wheels camber when the boxes are fully loaded. Great video by the way.
28:40 Looks like cord storage. The Tough built locking system looks prime for aftermarket competitor adapters, assuming patent issues can be resolved. I've got 2 pieces of the DeWalt T-stak, so I'm not heavily invest in it. Looks like I'll be making a trip to Lowe's this weekend.
You nailed it.
The fact that every one of these stackable systems compare themselves with pack out is a testament to the top tier status that is pack out.
Wow tough built is no joke 💪👍. I want that four drawer box.. Thanks 🐻 👍
I'll definitely buy some when they get the mounting bracket so I can mount it in the back of my truck.. milwaukee and toughbuilt fan boy here 😅
I would like to see a flush/telsescoping handle on the 1/2 tray. That handle makes it look like it sticks farther out when stacked. But great review for some good products and I would like to see a 4 drawer box. Thanks for sharing.
Do you think the tool bag can hold a Dewalt drill impact and screwdrivers, pliers, a couple batteries, a drillbit case, an impact bit case and a few odds and ends? I can’t fit it all in my Dewalt bag. The one that came with the tools so I was looking to upgrade. Thank you very much for your help.
I would say, can probably handle all that. Just remember, this is a tote, meaning it’s open top, so not like a bag that zips closed.
Hey, super excited about this system. Any word on when it will make it's way up to Canada? And if so, where? (Lowe's is being merged into Rona at the moment). Thanks!
The Ridgid 2.0 handle/wheels unhooks from the box so you can put your drawers on the bottom. Just picked up the Ridgid pro 2.0 system. 3 boxes a crate and an organizer for $225 out the door. Drawers are on the way. Tough and lightweight. No concerns about durability. Big wheels on the base. Handle isn't as firm as the Milwaukee packout and no rails or brackets for add ons. Not really an issue for me. I also like that the boxes don't have to be locked together every time you set one on the stack. You can just stack and grab as needed without messing with latches every single time you want to move a box.
i wish they'd stop making the bottom wheeled piece the same in every brand, make it a drawer on wheels instead
Ridgid is supposedly coming out with it before the end of the year.
They have one with a drawer on the bottom. It'll be out in spring of 2024.
I’m a design engineer for ToughBuilt and we tried, but it’s too damn hard. What I will say is, I have a friend who works for Milwaukee, and they have some pretty big news regarding a rolling drawer tool box.
@@i_know_youre_right_but are you actually an engineer with TB ? I have got to say you guys are doing great on innovation, setting yourself apart from the competition! I would push hard on your pouches and clip tech system , they are getting really popular. And toughbuilt is the one doing it best
@@i_know_youre_right_but that is the challenge that is making it hard to accomplish?
You could make a great camping rolling cart with these units.
I'll throw in for a radio with a covered compartment for cell phone USB connection as a speaker/player/USB multi port charger (2 or more ports). Also a Charger box that has an internal power strip (with 2+ USB charging ports) that has a dedicated power cord on the outside. Love the level rail pocket. How about a heated insulated container for Jobsite coffee!
It looks good but I will wait for the drawers I am content with my Bauer stack and the Hart stack drawers and organizers
I don’t want to wait!!
When can we get it here on the old continent? There are many parts for Dewalt or Milwaukee we can get here in Europe. Stuff looks amazing...
Can't wait for the drawer-ed boxes.
the bottom box is only rated for 250 lbs? i'm no mechanic but that seems pretty light.
My problem here is: Plastic fails over smaller amounts of time, compared to steel. I've had plastic tool boxes for decades and all of them are broken in one fashion or another.
You haven’t tried this plastic.
Not sure you understand what kind of jobs these boxes are made for.
Ok that fan and cooler is bad ass
The unknown items are for extensions cords
Damn all these boxes are so expensive.
Waiting for a sale
I just bought the Toughbuilt Stacktech but I didn’t get any discount on it. Not real happy right now. It was $290 for the basic 3 boxes after tax.
I'm a big fan of the ToughBuilt stuff. However, I have no need for the StackTech, even though it is quality. Hmmm.... I'm thinking with a bit of Hack Fabin', I could make a great range kit. Find some way to attach a gun case (or two) to the sides, and roll it out to the shooting area. I did buy a whole lot of their tool belt items, those with the quick clips. Note: If you're a smaller human, I have a 31" waist, plan on doing some surgery on the belt. Just picked up the 16" bag (Lowe's). Mine did not have the shoulder strap included (nor did any others on the shelf). All tough ballistic style nylon. Going to outlast me.
I wonder how long the latch system will last.? I looked at them and wanted something less bulky than Milwaukee. I also think Milwaukee latch system might be hard to slide in and out when they are loaded. I have the Rigid set now for over ten years, looking for drawers.
Nice/Good/Solid Review on the new Toughbuilt system Jeff. Thank you.
Wish they had a better Sale. Cmon Toughbuilt, where is a Discount code for "The Den of Tools" Viewers ?!
" where is a Discount code for "The Den of Tools" Viewers ?!" RIGHT?
I’m heavily invested in Milwaukee Packout. I will not be an early adopter of the system, although I really like the Toughbuilt products I own.
The box Fan! What, I gotta get that -- when's it drop? Any coupons from the bear? Lol thx
Weight rating on the wheels? I'm scared of bending them, flexing the bottom box so that it scrapes the ground.
How high does the handle go? I'm 6,3 with short arms lol
Let's goooo Toughbuilt stack tech 👏👏👏👏👏💯
Wish harbor freights Bauer storage system would offer a drawer boxes!
I can't believe how they engineered the latching system to be so efficient, i.e. there's little lost volume. Pacckout is the opposite; with a quarter inch lost top & bottom, even with the shallow parts trays!
So close to perfect, but missed some important features, maybe they will listen and have a version 2
