You should add plant markers with more saying. “So pretty” and “pop of color” would be so cute. Love your videos.
ROBBIE!!!!!! This is such a good idea!!!! It’s going to be such a beautiful addition to your yard 🤩
Love the look of what the fence will look like.
The Surefire Rose Begonias from Proven Winners would work in your blank area - can handle sun or shade and would provide some color (there’s also a Surefire White). Get your bestie to hook you up!!!
Exactly what I was going to say.
Ditto
I love surefire rose begonias
Think he is trying to promote Monrovia plants due to his sponsorship 💐
Absolutely. I love them for that reason.
Hi Robbie! I wanted to share a tip that I came upon for fountains. I love fountains and have 3 small/medium ones. The tip is to put copper into them. It slows the growth of algae/mildew. I bought a bag of the cheapest copper fittings I could find at Lowes and threw them into my fountains/birdbath. I threw one into a ceramic china pot fountain I have. I almost never have to clean it. I just fill it with new water when it gets low. My two other water features are made of cement. It takes more copper to keep them clean. I do have to clean them still, but not as often. I have been asked if its safe for birds. My thought on that is...copper pipe is used in a lot of plumbing in homes. If we can drink it, must be ok. Also, a lot of bird baths are made of copper. This copper idea also gave me an ah ha moment. Must be how the," throw a penny in the fountain make a wish," came about. Don't use pennies now though, they are not made of enough copper to do any good. Hope this info is useful or at the very least ,interesting. Take care! I love your videos!! (and your fountains!)
Hey Robbie! You know how you liked Janey’s begonias? They’d look fantastic by your fountain. They can take sun or shade and provide color all season long!
Those Begonias are gorgeous, front yard fence is going to look great I’m sure. 😍
Gosh Robbie, your heat is insane! Please be careful with that. And the begonias are gorgeous!
Definitely to hot. Today in NE Oklahoma the temperature was 96 felt like 112. 😮
Exciting project! Always great to see more garden ideas
I love thre begonias, just poped everything, so beautiful. The fence is going to be so beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
Can't even imagine being that hot out. Be safe. The driveway is going to be beautiful.
The fence espalier is going to look amazing there! Looking forward to seeing it come to life. 💚
Thank you for beating the heat (kind of?) and sharing this with us. This was a fun video and a great new project. That side garden is just gorgeous, and the begonias were the icing on the cake.❤
Hi Robbie! I received my merch order today! Not only do I LOVE the shirt and sticker I ordered, but the attention to the thank you detail and packaging was very much appreciated!! 💚
Aww, what cute doggies😘 and yes the begonias are beautiful, too😍Great job with the shade garden area, love it❣😘
I add a small chunk of chlorine from a tab for the pool in each of my fountains to help keep the water cleaner. I know that u change your water and clean a lot but this works well for me
I’m echoing what others have said, Surefire Begonias are the way to go. Your new espalier is going to be fantastic…stay cool!!🇨🇦👏🌸
The fence going to be so beautiful!
The front yard fence will be stunning! Great job! Please be careful in the heat there!
I appreciate the planting information on the Monrovia begonia.
Beautiful dog enjoying gardening!!!!
Freya you go girl!!!!
Thanks Robbie 👋🏻 Brent, hope you both have a great day ! Keep cool. 🥶🌺💚🙃
Stay cool, guys. The fence will be beautiful! Morning Freya ❤
Yes Robbie 111 sounds very rough. I couldn't do it. I would melt. Lol I like how you look at the positives even though you hate the mess the privets leave. You are inspiring me to do better. I complain about the mess my neighbors water maples make ( throws helicopter seeds, planting future maple trees) ughhh. However they do provide shade. So thanks for reminding me that. Love your idea for your driveway. That is going to be amazing!😊
Perfect timing for this video Robbie!!! I’ve been wanting to do this on my fence and was intimidated lol! Thank you! Cant wait for part 2! ♥️
Great style Robbie. Look forward to seeing the front fencing complete ❤
Robbie, I love that plant, i got a few on sale a few yrs. ago. Then I saw where in my zone 7a (southwestern Virginia), that I could bring them in, to over winter! And guess what, you can divide then out where they are rhizomes! I even had a broken leaf that included the stem, and I put it right in soil (the end of the stem) and kept it watered and it grew! Oh my gosh they are gorgeous, I love them!
Love this! Freya you are so sweet!
Creative ideas! ❤. Thanks Robbie!
Always so beautiful Robbie!
Nice job. Looks like it will be a stunner.
It's going to be beautiful!
That espalier is going to look so good there!
Lantana can handle full sun and some dappled sun.
Ooh so pretty against the terracotta pot 😍
Your cute dogs look like they’re on duty as bouncers at a club, only allowing cool gardeners to party in your backyard! 🇨🇦
Oh I love the begonias!😊
Love those begonias! Will have to look for them here in Michigan. Can't wait to see what you plant on the espalier.
Hi Robbie
Hope you Brent & the doggies Have a wonderful 4th of July🎉
I really enjoyed this video. I’d love to try making an espalier on my fence. Thanks for the inspo.
Hi Robbie, I have had excellent luck with Roseanne Cranesbill for your open space by the Begonias. They spread out nicely after the first year and flower all summer. They do well in full sun and dappled sun. The other cranesbills by Monrovia are nice too. 😊
The PW Surefire White Begonias ( like in Janey’s Shade Garden) would work well in that part sun/shade spot along the pathway. It would also play off of the white blooms from the other side of the pathway.
Hi Robbie,
Yes your right those begonia plants are really pretty , and also I love the fact you get so much information on the tag, it's nice there have put recommendations on what plants to plant alongside them , very helpful.
I love your idea of espalier on your white fence, it will look beautiful, are you going to put jasmine there ?
What did you use for the white letters on the gate plaque , it came up lovely x🌹
Hi Brent x
Hey Robbie maybe you could add another shade awning that connects from the top of the fence to the house to protect the foundation from the falling flowers and to add more shade since you seem to be planting major shade loving plants in that area.
You keep busy with the numerous projects - all great ideas!
Great ideas! Beautiful!
I am soooo going to do an espalier on my fence!! 😍😍
That is going to be beautiful!!!
Hi Robbie .... I think coleus will be a great plant to put in that part sun/ part shade spot.😊
put begonias or impatients in the area with dappled light!
yeah!! i missed the first steps of your back garden wall so i am happy i am here for step one for this wall!!!
On a fence in my neighborhood, there's a beautiful ivy diamond espalier. The bottom foot is like a hedge all along the bottom with the diamonds rising from the hedge. I want to copy it somewhere in my yard. I would probably use something other than ivy, probably star jasmine.
Robbie, they call that a love hate relationship…. 😂. Have you tried adding 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide to your fountain after you clean and refill it? It should clear some of the algae stains and keep it clear longer. Also if you add some pure copper fittings ( like plumbing pieces) they keep the algae from growing. I have a short piece of copper wire in my bird bath and it works great.
Sure fire begonias would be good as they can take sun or shade. I have them in two urns on mt front porch…on is in quite a bit of sun and the other is not… they are doing great….they come in pink, white or red. The pink color have dark leaves…which I love
Plant lamium or ajuga..great ground cover.
It’s going to look nice.
Robbie you didn’t take my advice about putting an outdoor carpet under your pergola, this way your dog could lay on it while you’re working in the heat. And it will look nice 👍🏽
Hi Robbie! I've been watching you for over a year and LOVE what you have done. I'm in NC zone 8a so definitely heat and humidity. I have a ton of shade but yet sun in my yard. The plant that does beauty for all of that? Hardy geraniums. I have Bevan's variety, Rozanne and trying this year the PW Boom chocolatta. The first two are doing wonderful and we haven't had rain in many weeks.
The Rex Begonia does really well , for us in zone 8 GA, in containers! Hot& humid!
Hey Jayne, hook Robbie up with some Surefire white! ❤😊
How about putting up a sun sail between the privet, fence and the house to give more shade and keep debris out of the fountain?
Could try a low growing ceanothus for that sun/shade spot
Can’t wait to see that project completed. Is going to look beautiful. I’d love to do something like that on the side of my shed. How long are the eyelets? Do they stick out on the other side of the fence?
Excelente idea en el suelo crecen con mucha fuerza saludos 🇺🇾🌵
Sure fire red begonias are what you need in the fountain area.
And another opinion from the peanut gallery....IMHO, your fence diamonds should have been wider. Too late I know. But I'm sure it will be stunning, nonetheless!! Thanx Robbie and Brent...and puppies
I guess that I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what your planting on your fence art ? Unless I missed it, probably did . 🧐🌺💚🙃
You didn't miss it. They had to stop because it was too hot outside.
Robbie how about begonia for your problem area along gravel walkway. Great video.
Love your t-Rex begonia!!🪴🫶🧜♀️ the color is perfect where you planted it! Thank you for showing the tag because I started a gallery of pics for reference for future plantings🫶and the trellis diamond shape is going to be sooo beautiful and different. Robbie did you say what plant you’ll be planting on it? ( I’m sorry if you said it I must have missed It)…love all you do in your garden ❤
Can’t wait to see it!!🌸
Plant some hostas would be nice
❤
Can’t wait to see it.
Robbie and Brent! I forget what city you are in!? I’m in Lakeport , west of you and we are going to reach a balmy 109-110 Saturday so I “almost” feel your pain. Like your skin is literally frying when the direct sun hits you. Doesn’t it just make you mad by like day three?! 😂 I’m out there apologizing to my chickens and plants multiple times a day as I try to keep it all cool to survive 🥵🥵🥵
I really like the silver foliage…maybe you can continue that color palette but use plants that grow in Sun or shade. Dusty miller comes in so Mary newer varieties or …that might be an option or even a succulent or a ground covrr that echoes that silver leaf color…it’s so pretty.
When you were at Janey’s did you help Jason with their fountain? 🌺💚🙃
Hi Robbie have you mentioned before the type of shovel you have? I believe I need a better one. Love the driveway project. What type of fence is that and where did you get it? Happy 4th of July 🎉
Love those Rex begonias but I keep killing them. Any tips will be wonderful.
Hello from Nebraska
Robbie I absolutely love those begonias! Did I miss the zone on those? Will they be perennial for you? Deanna
Morning, how can you stand that type of heat? Do the dogs stay inside?
O I wish I had an area to do the exfoliate (eeek! Not sure how to spell that) 😅❤ but I love it!!
Espalier
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🐶
😎❤️
In the rough area can begonias handle sun and shade?
Robbie there is some pretty pink p
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸❤️❤️❤️
Where did you buy your rocking chairs at on your front porch ?
Math is hard sometimes, I always confuse myself 😂
Plant surefire white begonias in that "rough" area. You said you liked Janey's
❤☕goodmorning robbie.the begonias you just planted, is that perennial in your area?
Can people live in 120 degrees?? I cannot and I am in Texas! We do not get that hot!!!!
I swear Freya is looking at you and thinking "that man has lost his mind...he keeps talking to himself like he's having a real conversation with someone." The joke is on Freya.....you're talking to us!
You are a bad influence lol. I have 9 Monrovia perennials wanting to be planted tomorrow.
💙🪴👍🏻🪴💙
Shouldn’t you start the diamonds in the middle of the wall to make everything balanced.
Hot here too today but not that hot! That fence is going to look so good!
