But I think there's something to be said about how well Shigekix was rocking the beat/killing the beat I'm the first 3 rounds. Like he was adapting his sets and listening to the music while doing power. I don't know - I think that should get a bit more credit

Shigekix only problem is his flow, when middle of his set he tends to think on what to do next eventually it will come naturally to him in the next couple of years and then he will be unstoppable. Menno is like a Robot he has no Musicality in him at all but he still somehow kills his set.
It's called free styling. Whatever you're saying is picturing menno like he written all his sets which I guess he does. Shigekix has flow. Just because think of what to do next doesn't equal to no flow

A battle isn't just won with moves, it's also a dominance of floor presence, your showmanship of your style, and how well you can use your moves to connect the audience to the music. In bboy battles everyone forgets that the people are judging them aren't anything more than bboys themselves. Just as people here have a different idea of WHO WON and WHAT ROUND so did all the judges. If a completely different jury judged the same battle you might get a different result.
