+Danny Y okay. So Hong 10 is one of the best B-boys in the world. He didn't have to give it his all against him. He didn't. Issei is up and coming and now that he went up against Hong 10, wanted to show what he's made of. This battle was hype for the fact that both of these guys gave it their all.

Crazy battle. It's like they're watching distant versions of themselves. Shigekix is what, 13? By the time he's Hong's age, hes going to be an absolute monster. His toprock and musicality is sick for someone so young. I can't wait to see what kind of moves and transitions he'll incorporate in future sets.

Two amazing things about this battle:
1) Hong 10 will be 31 years old soon and yet he is still showing improvements, getting better than he has ever been since the day he got out of military service few years ago.
2) Shigekix is already one of the best bboys in the world at the age of 13.
Another different thing is... Hong 10 is legend bboy but Shigekix is not...

Hope Shigekix would learn from Hong 10 and keep on improving his own things.
I know his move is somewhat similar to the one of Hong 10 signature moves, but you can't really blame him for that.
There is like so many moves in the bboying world now, and you will never know whether the move that you practiced for a long time was actually has been used by the other bboys.
I've started bboying since 2008 and I know what it's felt like to be called a bitter just because I did the almost exact same move of the other guys or other bboys around the world who I don't even know.
But seriously Shigekix has done a very good job to battle one of the living legend.
And for Hong 10, to saw the kid potential and he's trying to bring out the whole things out of Shigekix so that he can learn and improve for the better, is just perfect.
Without doubt Shigekix will definitely going to be a star in a couple of more years, just like his fellow Japanese bboy Issei, even though Issei started his bboying life with his own original moves.

I agree that Shigekix powermoves definately resembles Hong10 but I would also agree about your point with biting.
IMO, Biting isn't really as applicable as it was in the earlier years, where moves were less universal. sure there are some that will be iconic, but barring people from practicing a move just out of respect is difficult to do>
What if you're inspired to create a new move because you saw someone else and thought "I can do something like that" and then get called a biter? it blocks the entire idea of innovation

Just so you guys know... Hong10 is a very popular bboy and Japan and has been competing there for over a decade now. I remember a japanese whose moves are actually all-Hong10. I forgot the year and the event though. :( great battle btw. Loved the energy. Hong10 nailed that move on the last round.
