Ron, great addition to the collection.....Golf Course Lawn Academy Demonstration.....Love the variety 🎙⚖️🌱📺💯
Thanks Yama Hawk!
A: it's best to not walk into the spray mist B: you should have a respirator on.
Tenacity is not something you should be inhaling. It's toxic just like the bottle warns you it is.
A. A man with experience is not at the mercy of the man with an opinion. B. See A. C. We're not spraying Tenacity and please see A. 😎
@@ChrisHansenHere 🤣 You're funny and also seem to be lost. Let me help you find your way in the scary world of CZcams.
It does seem like an awful lot of drift though. Ill give him that.
You know it!!!won't it kill the grass too!! It did my lawn.....never again I pull them weeds.
What type of respirator?
Thanks for the video, and answering questions. Such patience is in short supply many places
Glad it was helpful!
Nice technique and PPE!
He’s a good student. ✅
I agree, only thing missing is a mask. What op sprayer is this, what model?
Great job looking out for a neighbor!!!
Gotta help him out. :-)
Hands down!
For Poa, Nutsedge, and other similar weeds in Bermuda lawn, after the herbicide does it’s thing do you have to pull the weeds out or will the Bermuda start migrating in and growing where they used to be? Thanks!
Bermuda will take over where they used to be.
Very helpful
Glad it helped
I am here for this, thank you. SUBSCRIBED!
I appreciate you!
Aren’t you supposed to spray backwards and not walk on the wet spots
Doesn't really matter. This is why you wear boots.
Do the boots ninja kick the chemical away or something?
Ron, when spraying liquids and using broadcast spreaders for granular, do you have to overlap the area vertically and horizontally for an even coverage?
No. You want to minimize heavy overlaps since that would result in overapplication.
Can you apply on cool season grass in the summer during a drought?
The product he is spraying is designed for warrm season grass so no. If you're spot spraying weeds this time of year it would be ok. In general you want to avoid blanket spraying the lawn unless absolutely needed. This lawn was covered in weeds.
Am I crazy in the nozzle pointing down like that?
Hey Ron, I have a 4 gallon sprayer that has a low and high sprayer setting. Which should I use? Does that matter?
I use the low pressure setting. Most spray tips are designed for the lower flow rate.
@@RonHenry Thank you my friend!
Sweet!
Thanks!
What kind of weed killer are you using?
This: golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-and-certainty-herbicide-kit-with-surfactant-and-dye
How long for kids and pets to go on lawn?
The following day.
When it kills the weeds do you have to pull them all after??
No you don't.
What sprayer is that??
This one: golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer
Have you ever used q4 plus. Do I need to ware s respirator when spraying it?
I've never used it. I check the label for guidance on PPE. Unlikely that you'll need a respirator.
Hey do how often for these need to be cleaned?
I clean it after each use.
Is it possible to overdue on the dye/coloring?
It will just discolor the lawn longer. Shouldn't result in permanent staining. I wouldn't overdo it.
Hi Ron, love the channel!! Question, could I use this same method with Tenacity on Kentucky Blue Grass (I’m fighting a lot of Poa in Colorado). Thank you!
Most people spot spray Tenacity vs. the blanket spray you see here. Also it won't do much against the Poa already in your lawn. There's a herbicide that will control Poa in cool season lawns but only some KBG cultivars tolerate it. golfcourselawn.store/products/velocity-pm-poa-annua-control-for-cool-season-turf
Appreciate you watching the content.
Thank you for taking the time to answer that and for the recommendation, Ron!
@@flemakamitsubishimike336 Happt to help
is celcius really that expensive or does a bottle go a long way?
One bottle covers over 2 acres
What is the backpack called?
This one: golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer
Awesome demonstration. I have ~36,000 sq ft of kbg and I'm exploring whether I can manage it with a battery powered backpack sprayer. What's a reasonable gallons per 1000 sq ft? There's a big difference in how many refills I'll need at .5 gallons vs 2 gallons per 1000 sq ft, so I'm trying to get a good estimate.
I like a rate of 1 gallon of product mix per 1000 square feet. Strikes a good balance between coverage how often you need to refill the tank. Unless stated otherwise on the label, most products work well with that dilution rate.
@@RonHenry do you use a marking dye? Seems I'd have trouble with missing spots unless I use it.
@@soundofsilence21he’s using marker dye. Thats what he’s using to mark his barrier then filling in from there.
Oh wow
Appreciate you watching.
Once it dies off do you have to pull them
No you don't.
Wat r u using for the poa
This golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control
Will that kill the grass too?
No it won’t.
Anybody knows the name of this sprayer used?
This one: golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer
Great video. I really like that nozzle, going to see if I can get one for my Chapman
You can.
Waiting for some lawn care maintenance here in MI
It'll happen soon enough.

I like to, yes. Trim pass and then fill in.

Recommend a product for pre or post emergent or crabgrass and clovers?
What kind of grass do you have?
@@RonHenry I am in the Midwest and not sure what kind of grass I have, but if I were to take a picture, you’d see nothing but crabgrass and lots of clover.
Maybe turf-type tall fescues and ryegrass?
@@kaymure For centipede and ryegrass, you'll want to use Tenacity. We carry it here: golfcourselawn.store/products/tenacity-herbicide There's also this kit that includes Tenacity, Sedgehammer, surfactant and marker dye: golfcourselawn.store/products/tenacity-and-sedgehammer-herbicide-kit-with-surfactant-and-dye-cool-season-grass
I'd be wearing a respirator with the type of chems you're using.
Not necessary.
❤
Thanks Ted!
Wouldn’t there be a lot of bare pockets blanket sprayin that
Not really. It will eliminate the weeds and the Bermuda will fill in where the weeds used to be
Bermuda is basically a better looking weed anyways. It will spread and fill in any bare patches with regular turf care😊
Where can I get a sprayer like that?

@@RonHenryThank you
Does the chemical stain the grass too and kill the grass or just the weeds?
It does t permanently stain either. Within a couple of days the color goes away.
@@RonHenry
So it will kill just the weeds and not the grass? Appreciate your responses.
@DLIX2DCLI that’s correct. This blog post goes into more detail. golfcourselawn.store/blogs/diy-lawn-care/best-products-for-killing-weeds-without-killing-grass
why not spray laterally? you won't walk in chemicals
It's easier to keep your lines straight Anon. Plus if you look, he's wearing rubber boots and PPE so no issues really.
You should walk backward when spraying so to not walk on where you've sprayed
Nah. Not necessary.
Some of those plants we call weeds actually grow into some pretty cool shapes. I let 2 or 3 weeds grow next to my office window and now they are full grown beautiful creatures. I'd recommend a time-lapse of a weed field for 6 months and see if there are any special or unique species hiding in there that only flower in the summer, I think you'd be surprised. Sometimes it's like magic, random blue and purple flowers will start blossoming all over my lawn it's great. Fun to look at. I have to cut the grass at some point or else the ticks creep in though, so I just try to cut around the patches of cool stuff.
Appreciate you watching.
Which chemical???
This one: golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-and-certainty-herbicide-kit-with-surfactant-and-dye
Are you spraying at 1 gal per 1k for backpack? Or doing more of a blanket spray at 2 gal per 1k sqft?
We've diluted the herbicides at a rate to spray 1 gallon over 1000 square feet.
awesome, thanks for the response.@@RonHenry
You are just spraying on your boot 😂
Nah. The weeds are already dead. :-)
i walk backwards while applying
That's one way of doing it! 👍
What brand backpack spray is that😮
golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer
Why isn't he going backwards instead
That's a good way to trip and fall. Walking forward is better. This is why he's wearing rubber boots and other PPE.
Why not walk away from your spray?
Because you’re far more likely to trip and fall walking backwards? As long as you’re wearing the proper PPE (rubber boots), it’s fine.
this is waste of product, just spray locally where weeds are poking out, he is spraying pure grass
Nope! There's poa and other broadleaf weeds throughout the the lawn. Not a waste of product. Appreciate you watching.
why is he walking in the freshly spray area Y B A I
Nothing wrong with doing that. You'll notice he's wearing proper PPE to include rubber boots.
That works great with a dewey morning but you won’t see where you going without that morning dew.
There's blue dye in the tank so we can see where he's sprayed.
@@RonHenryok. From the video you can’t see the blue die just looks like knocking the dew off.
Yum, entering your lungs slowly but surely.
Oh yes!
He sprayed enough onto his boots to cover an entire lawn
Thanks for watching!
Actually he should walk backwards while spraying mabey like 20 percent of that medicine got on his shoes
Nah. That’s why he’s wearing rubber boots
Thanks for killing all the bees and poisoning the ground water. God's work. You must be proud.
You obviously don’t watch my content because I actively avoid products that harm bees and other pollinators. Appreciate you watching though. 🥰
❤
He did a great job.
