No kidding i equipped Lightborn because i saw 4 flashlights in the lobby as Dredge...
Some dude tried to blind me after pallet stun and when he couldn't he just stood there and DCed. His friends were then pointing to a hook for me to kill them. Absolutely wild.

(late reply) i am brand new to the game and I got lightborn and it's been kind of a staple for me as I don't really have many good perks, I got some guy who tried to blind me none stop, I just went. "yeah I have this perk, what you do about it?" as earlier I went against three guys with flashlights saving eachother, that was annoying.

The thing is that if you just look down or look around before picking up you avoid getting flashed almost all the time or before picking up you quickly do a 180 or face a wall, its overall avoidable by skill and when people try too hard to flash you it actually made me win games really easily so its not worth a perk slot for most people
but hey do what suits you best, I used Windows of Opportunity on survivor too for a long time until I got used to things :)

It's funny with me and my mate because we know most of the perks etc but we've only got about a week's gameplay so when we call out lightborn (it's just the 2 of us) we always gotta take it with a grain of salt because the other person could just be shit and aiming badly LOL

@@andreidrilea15 agreed. It also makes survivors act dumber instead of smarter. When they realize I have lightborn they go do gens, when they realize their green clicker is laying at my feet they circle back and try to pick it up
its a great perk if you dodge lobbies to make a video against 4 ppl dumb enough to show flashlights at the start of the lobby
The "E" sound effect will never get old; it'll only fade away after the nerf
The only nerf that'll make Dead Hard disappear is taking it out behind the wood shed.

Eh the nerf is not hard enough to kill it. People acted like it was dead in the previous "nerf" but people realized it really was not nerfed and went back to using it. With this nerf a good portion of players will still use it. I am willing to bet.
It actually gets VERY old. You can rebind you keys to anything you want for years now...

I sincerely hope they never change Lightborn again. It's perfect as is. They really just set themselves up for failure by all bringing flashlights.
I once made 2 survivors DC because I had lightborn, if you rely on flashlights so much you have to DC because the killer has lightborn then you might need to get better at the game
In some survivors defense most have gotten pretty bored of the gameplay in DBD and so they want to toss it up. If I see flashlights being brought out then I know gens are not going to be a priority
You can always just slug against the flash clawers. They hate that, lol.

As someone who has suffered from flashlight bully squads, this is therapeutic
Seeing their failed attempts when they think they've just hit the jackpot is a feeling unlike any other.
Usually the bully squads realize pretty quick that you have lightborn and play around it genrushing and switching items through chestes, so must of the times when i see a 3+ flashlight team i bring franklin's demise, that makes them do the most greedy and stupid plays to recovery their purple fl XD
I think I only discovered Lightborn a few days ago (I’ve been one-tricking Trickster) and I’ve been pairing it with the Starstruck perk. It’s so fun to see people try helplessly to blind you as you’re holding someone only to get insta-downed.
You can take it a step further by combining it with Agitation and Iron grasp, then they have even less time to react.

Its so hilarious when people just completely forget lightborn is a thing. I love running it occasionally, it cracks me up when they sit there just holding the flashlight on your face while breaking a pallet and dont realize until they're dead😭
I love taking light born when the whole lobby brings beamers. I just pretend I'm trying to avoid the blind and then bam, free hits/downs
Had a squad once that put on a bunch of petrified oak with no mither + flashlights and they all camped in shack withy no basement. Nothing I could do really but I was lucky enough to be playing clown so I just knocked them down and tonic walked them to a hook a across the map. Got a 4k and they still called me trash

I run Lightborn after a map offering and offensively bright flashlights forced a game to a halt until I got a 4 man down so I could finally hook in peace. They gifted me my first 4k at 4 gens because everyone stood around waiting for me to pick up. It's immensely funny to pretend to avoid the blind because I get chased for the blind instead of someone doing a gen.
One of my favorite parts of these videos are when uploaders include the comments by survivors complaining that killer didn't let them do what they wanted. I just wish someone would tell them if they want easy easy mode, they should play a single player game against some npc's, hahaha😂 Great video, well played!

I find it so funny how lightborn makes those stressful situations when all 3 survs are around you with flashies and dumb perks it turns them into free wins. Then survs complain about lightborn it’s so funny. Being blinded at every pallet is the least fun thing as a killer main imo. I don’t need to literally be flashed everytime I do an action it is beyond irritating and it’s not even good
Its not THAT irritating. Them flashing you when you break makes them stand still for a sec and grants you the opportunity to catch up faster

Old rule to play by, a lightborn per play keeps the flashlight squads at bay

I mean, if all the survivors are using flashlights, that's when I whip out Lighthorn. If they want to try and blind me constantly, then I'll counter that by making them ineffective against me.
I usually pair Lightborn with Enduring and Franklin's demise just to make the teams with flashlights run back for them and make them think that I don’t have Lightborn for as long as I possibly can. Once I get Spirit Fury I can replace whatever other perk I use and just let myself be stunned

You get lightborn by default when playing Hillbilly, as it is one of its initial perks. As for the other killers, you must unlock them.

While I have no issue with Lightborn I do think it’s unfair that the killer player can see the survivors and what items they’re bringing. It gives them the option to change their perks and thus an unfair advantage.

@@lucaguida4286 definitely possible i wouldn't say likely since the two claudette's matched in one of the games and clearly gave up simultaneously when they realized their flashlights werent working.. It's always the swiffer sweepers that give up together and all band together to flame the killer at the end of a match 😂
The thing about lightborn, while funny, is that- 95% of the time, it's easy to just... avoid the flashlights. Of course, there are the occasional situation where someone is downed in an open area, and someone else can pop out and blind you as you're picking up, but that's literally the only situation lightborn is truly valuable- most of the time, if you down someone, if there's an obstacle, or better yet, a wall nearby, just face it while picking up. Which most of the time, there will be, as survivors tend to hug walls so they can loop better.
So, you have a perk that counters something that most of the time is easy to counter anyways, in place of a perk that could just be extremely helpful overall.
And before someone says it can be good when killer is kicking a pallet, vaulting, etc. A killer isn't going to lose you just because their screen went white for a second. Especially if you're injured and leaving a blood trail. If you run away, you will leave scratchmarks towards where you went, and if you walk away, you are leaving yourself in the area, with only a second or so to completely leave the killer's line of sight after blinding to begin with. As for it stunning the killer, they were already locked in place for a second as they break the pallet. Hell, if you blind them while the pallet is being broken, the killer would ALREADY be stuck in place breaking down a pallet, vaulting a window, or whatever. The only difference is now they can't see for a second, but you have gained absolutely no distance. Just standing there, making their screen go white for a second or two while they are already stuck, instead of making a run for it, and taking advantage of the distance the pallet can actually get you.
