The Russian Link Behind the World's Instability

  • In the tumultuous global situation that the world finds itself today, Gen. Ben Hedges explains why the wars in Ukraine and Israel are linked and what is likely to happen next, including how Israel could realistically use nuclear weapons and if Iran itself will join the conflict, gives fresh insight as to how very complicated global situation is spiralling out of control - which is all the more reason for America to lead.
Gen. Hodges, a vocal supporter of Ukraine, leaves no doubts as to what the US must do now if we wish to defeat the terrorists waging war against Israel and to help Ukraine achieve a lasting victory.
Given a complicated world, where Israel, Ukraine, and other American partners are in conflict, the US needs to be prepared. However, the US is still "not serious" about its defense industry and improving its ability to prepare for war.

China wants a more polymorphic power distribution in the world and the US doesn't want to give up it's World dominance (while they almost threw it away with unnecesarry wars in Irak, Libira and Afghanistan. At that moment they were the most dominant power in the world. I stumbled across a site a while back that graphed the number of civil wars throughout the world. It is very interesting that that the number of civil wars kept increasing during the Brezhnev years in the USSR up to a peak of around 50 countries suffering from civil wars. In the decade after the USSR collapsed, this number declined to less than 30. Since Putin came to power the number has been steadily increasing. What does this say? It means that roughly half the civil wars in the world are sponsored or caused by Russian intervention. Anyone notice how issues (unrest and civil wars) have been increasing in the Middle East since Putin took power?

Russia wants US to shift their attention to Israel specially the support of the US law makers that certainly will favor to support Israel than Ukraine. General Hodges, and Colonel Harry G. Summers before him clarified something that is vital in any military campaign: "WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?"
Because that really is at the crux of the matter: WHO are "THEY", WHY are we here, HOW FAR can we GO, WHAT can we DO... (etc)
The rules are defined by whomever sends the troops (NOTE THIS!) But civilized nations abide by rules of "War" that Hamas does not
"Rules of Engagement", the Geneva Convention - and we stick to it even when the 'other side' throws 'The RULES' in the trash or never heard of them
If you bothered to read this far, please comment. It is a fight against those who are well aware of the laws we have made governing warfare (regarding RUSSIA) and all of the Nations they have undermined that have chosen to commit acts against humanity; against a world in which we have begun to recognize that we are Earthlings - and we are all we have got to work with in the entire Cosmos... Seriously, we are IT. As far as we know there isn't anyone else

10:00 exactly! Eliminating the four things (needed by terrorists): Finance, Popular Support, Recruitment, and (the big one) the Root Cause. I think we Americans have to look in the mirror here as much as anyone.

I always love to hear General Hodges opinion. I wish he was in charge. Maybe he could run for president in 2028 or 2032?
Or at least be the national security advisor of the president or so.

I'm a huge Ukraine supporter. I think to support Ukraine is a no brainer. But, Ukraine has a lot more in common with the Palestinians than they do with the Israelis. 70 years of occupation attests to that. Ukraine needs to be very careful in regards to their stance on this conflict

Ukrainians are a real people with a history going back well over a thousand years. That cannot be said of the Palestinians as they suddenly appeared at the start of the 20th century.

@@markgoicoechea7826 This is a real and longstanding Zionist talking point. Its absolutely insane, but the basic premise is that because a country called Palestine never existed.......neither did the Palestinians.
It would be laughable if it wasn't so prevalent and clearly genocidal. Deny the people ever existed, deny them of theri heritage. These are classic genocide steps.
Indeed anyone with common sense understands that people who called themselves Palestinians have existed there for ages. And that just because the land was under British" control before and Ottoman control before that and that it was never, as a state, controlled by a nation state of Palestine does not mean the people who lived there, who called themselves Palestinian, are fictional or don't deserve their land.
Its all part of trying to erase Palestinian history and identity.

@@jonlittle5032 I stand enlightened. Thank you. Having said that. Ukraine has been courting the middle eastern countries for awhile now. I can't think of a better way to continue the courtship than by openly supporting Israel. Just a little sarcasm. And its just not the middle Eastern countries feel that way. Sometimes the best diplomacy is knowing when to stay silent.

Ben Hodges brings useful insight, a bit optimistic perhaps in hindsight. But that is the nature of forward looking estimates.
Israel can mitigate it's military economy tradeoff by recruiting Ukrainians. Both need a long runway to stabilize. War and reconstruction will require a decade for Ukraine. Israel's own population will bridge gaps after 10 years.
It can also look for people in India, Nepal, besides moderate Arabs who understand economy.

I doubt Russia orchestrated the HAMAS attack in anyway. I think yes, they have helped supply weapons and with Iran facilitated any attack which took place, but I don't think Russia specifically told HAMAS to attack Israel or when etc?
    That's my guess.
