She was a great best friend on and off screen. The show would have bombed if she left. Lucy was very funny but even better next to vivian. 😂
One note - Vance wasn't that old at the beginning of the series. She was in her late 30s at the time. I loved seeing her as Maxine in the Maxwell House commercials when I was a kid; but to see them now through adult eyes she really had such polished diction when she played a blue collar worker that it wasn't 100% believable!

I've got such a crush on her warm energy! Lucy used to be my big crush of the two, but now it's Viv- and quite fitting too, since her surname at birth was Jones, which is a variation of the name Joan, and Joan is a VERY special name to me! Just another link between me and Joan- another Godwink!
I could just picture those boys swarming like bees around Ethel Mae.

I thought was sincerely touched when narration he said, Vivian Vance crossed over instead of (died) I wish could seen more of her films outside Lucy Ball collaborations

She first met Bill Frawley and loudly called him a 'old coot'. I dont blame him for disliking her.
I have agree with Vivian as William Frawley was old enough to play her father. I didn't care his style because reminds too much of Vaudeville.
@@paulhunter6742 Maybe so, but referring to him as a 'old coot' to his face was sarcastic and unprofessional.
Vivian was younger than Lucy! I can see why she was disappointed at being paired with Frawley.
@@nadyarossi5102 She was lucky to even be offered the part, if it wasn't for this iconic show nobody would even know her name. Besides why take it out on Bill Frawley?
