Great interview! Also, I love how thoughtfully he answers questions, even ones he’s answered many times. Really hoping he is recognized this award season!

My interpretation of the Roy and Jamie fight was that Jamie has worked so hard on himself to grow and change especially with taking accountability for his actions and he has spent the most time with Roy over the previous months and he hasn't seen Roy work much on himself during that time. Roy is still taking his emotions out on Jamie bc he doesn't want to deal with them. So for Roy to come to him and tell him to back off bc he wants Keeley back really pisses him off. Bc from Jamie's perspective Keeley is so special and he lost her bc of his actions, and she really was the person who helped him become a better person and so he would love a do-over with her. But Roy broke things off bc he was scared and Jamie probably thinks Roy needs to work harder to win her back. Bc he isn't seeing Roy taking accountability for how much he hurt her, and Jamie has. I think that if Jamie had seen Roy working hard on himself he probably would have backed off but at this point Jamie knows he has done more to show that he is worthy of her than Roy has. That is why, as much as I would have loved to see Roy and Keeley back together in the finale, seeing Roy in Dr Sharon's office at the end was more meaningful to me bc it shows that Roy is willing to work through all his shit so that he can eventually be the person Keeley needs and that he won't hurt her again. I saw an interview with Juno Temple where she said she had thought that Jamie would kinda help Roy and Keeley get back together, and I thought the same thing, but I think he would if he knew Roy was accountable for his actions. Bc I do think that Jamie wants whats best for her and that he probably knows deep inside that she and Roy are meant for each other. The fight was just Jamie being like fuck you for telling me to back off when you still aren't being accountable for your shit.

Yesssss. And even if it wasn't super resolved with the three of them, I love that the barbecue scene shows that even if we don't know a romantic resolution, those three are in a good place together. My favorite trio.

@@london_lulu Ahh I love that scene too!!! And I just loved the way Roy and Keeley were there for Jamie in the Mom City episode. The scene of them in the locker room after the match where Jamie is icing his ankle and Roy and Keeley come in to bring champagne and keep him company and Ted walks by and sees them and smiles all proud...they absorbed everything Ted taught them, and I think it is one of those moments where Ted knows his work is done and they'll be okay when he's gone :') feels
