There's a new soccer coach in London, England and his name is Ted Lasso.
“Ted Lasso,” is a new original comedy series from Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, that will premiere globally with the first three episodes on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 14. Following the premiere, new episodes will debut weekly on Fridays thereafter on the streaming service.
Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. The series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed.
Bonnie Laufer @movi_boni spoke with Brett Goldstein & Phil Dunster about the new series and their love for soccer.

How funny to hear Phil's regular voice, he is a reasonably posh southerner and plays a rough and ready northerner so well! I was surprised to hear how posh Juno is too. They really nail the regional accents.

I can't believe how much I love this show. Seemed like a really thin concept that didn't deserve anything more than a funny commercial. Holy shit was I wrong. This was the perfect show to combat the bizarre sadness of the Corona Virus.
