As someone who grew up bullied, abused verbally and emotionally by close relatives this song speaks to me. Every hurtful word, manipulations and degrading treatment they mold me to what I am today. Now, everytime there's a "family" gathering I can feel their weariness around me. Like they are AFRAID OF LITTLE OLD ME!
The vocals on this song are just insane! i mean, her screaming “who’s afraid of little old me?” and then the quieter “you should be.” it’s just amazing. she is absolutely a mastermind
It's cause it's an octave higher and lower. Same note different octav. Her belting the higher octave was clear with resonance. Shows her vocal range have really improved.
I actually read this while singing it in the melody so I expected it to rhyme accordingly. "Always rising from the ashes" like a damn phoenix queen is she WHO'S AFRAID OF LITTLE OLD ME?
My female rage has never felt so represented and understood. I did not know I needed a song about this subject, but it came at a perfect time. This song feels like life throws you yet another curveball and you just say: You know what? Why tf not. I'll show you just how crazy I can be. That's what you want right? Are you afraid of what you made me? You should be... I can't stop crying at this song... I am sobbing every time. The emotions this song makes me feel is unlike anything I have ever experienced with music. This represents the final point of breakdown where the chaos of emotions and disappointments become so much it turns into empty nothings and you just sit there smiling like, sure why not. Feeling so much that you feel nothing at all, can make you turn wretched and crazy. It is the perfect combination of sad and angry.

This song is like a wonderful mix of the lyricism of My Tears Richochet, a little unhinged clapback to criticism like Blank Space, and an IDGAF attitude of Look What You Made Me Do and I'm LIVING FOR IT 🔥🔥🔥. I LOVE YOU TAYLOR!
55 female became a Swiftie a couple months ago. She is such a talented hard working artist. You don't hear songs that often that have the kind of lyrics, and deep thought she writes, and sings. Love how real she is as well. She is so kind, and makes a great role model for anyone that listens to her!
At the very end of the lyric, "Who's afraid of little old me?" she removes and leaves only "me?", perhaps implying that she's sometimes feeling afraid of herself... Why am I crying over this? :')

I've never heard such a gentle song about pure rage. Well deserved, super well sung. Thank you, Ms. Swift for bringing forth emotions we feel and can't voice on our own.
This is very villian coded. It's giving Maleficent. Witchy vibes. I genuinely love it, one of my favorites from the album and it stuck out from the first listen. Most screamable lyrics, imo.
this song gives me CHILLS. The way it makes me feel like I'm floating when she says levitating??? HOW??? And that first "who's afraid of little old me?" in high notes... HOW AM I EVEN STILL ALIVE AFTER LISTENING TO THIS.
What I love about all music, but especially Taylor’s music. Is the fact that I can imagine a perfect story to go with the songs. And this song is a perfect example of that!
This is also a song going over so many swifties heads. Hear what she is saying and learn to treat Taylor as a human being and not someone you can control and pretend you care about, while picking apart her entire life and criticise her. Such a sad song, but brilliant! Edit: realised some don´t know the history, this song is about many...this song is also clearly about Scooter, Scott, Kimye and all industry men who are scared of her power and have tried countless times to put an end to her career. She is changing the way they used to be able to control things in the industry, so clearly they are very afraid of her power and have been trying to take her down for years. But a part of the fandom are doing the same when punishing her when she doesn´t live up to the narrative you have created in your own mind.
@@Kellendras1 Can you even imagine. I can't even imagine how she was raised, from what I've seen about how her parents were promoting her. It gives me Britney's parents, but without the desperation for money.
Sort of like what happened to Britney….. 😳 I swear some of the lyrics in this album really remind me of her situation. I can’t help but wonder if they might collab one day. 🤷🏼♀️ Anything is possible. They could have planned something. Britney said on IG that things are not always what they seem to be.
2:37 “So tell me everything is not about me, but what if it is?” “What if it is?” “It is?” “It is.” Whoever made this lyric video is a GENIUS. Captures the realization and being honest with her self knowing that it is in fact about her.
I thought it was about essentially growing up publicly in a gold fish bowl. She's been in music since her early teens. And " the circus life" is fame. It's a great song. The album is brilliant.
@@lisaanderson1146this is solo written. Co-produced with Jack. And not all are cowritten with him, some are with Aaron Dessner (he has 5 songs in the standard edition and 12 on anthology, the rest are with Jack). Taylor has some solo written songs in this album (this, my boy only breaks his favorite toys, the black dog, peter, and the manuscript)
never been a fan of taylor swift, but i can never say something's not a banger when it clearly is. THIS is a 100% pure-bred gluten-free BANGER right here, folks.
I love this song-it should be a single. It would make a great music video with the circus imagery and the her escaping and destroying the circus and everything at the end.
Undeniably her best song, nothing else can compare. This is Taylor's deep resentment towards the media and people who wants to drag her down, wish her the worst and then what? If something really happens to her, they'll feel some kind of remorse and had the guts to ask what happened to her, why she's gone mad. Thank you, Taylor, for keep on writing your story. I hope you know there are people who truly appreciate you.
thought i was only one who heard that and thought damn. even her... feel the need to to keep us here. most artists do this, for their own state or the crowds acception. even if i try to write a song it goes to narcotics quite often, we must all have that one thing that grips us even a lil bit. even taylor
truly a Miranda Priestly "and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry, when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room... from a pile of stuff" moment
i've been a swiftie since october 2022 and personally i think ttpd is more of a personal life album, that's why people aren't "getting it." it's more related to taylor's life, than just music.
"it's a wonder I broke, let's hear one more joke. Then we can all just laugh until I cry" guts me. She shares her pain with the world and uses it as a muse to process and release it. She is a verified musical genius. LOVE this song!!
5:23 Did anyone catch when she says "Who's afraid of little old me" for the last time that there is a "me?" which stays longer, as an answer to the question. Damn this gives a whole other dimension to the song !
Notice when she sings “So tell me everything is not about me But what if it is?” The words disappear with the beat and we’re left with “ IT IS” And in the next line “THEY DID” The answers are given too. What a mastermind!😲
I was looking for this comment!! I also just realized that at the end the words disappear and only "me?" is left from who's afraid of little old me... litteral tears 😭
The story/message/lyrics in this song can explain how women really feel about societal expectations... You cage us, dismiss us, belittle us, accuse us, pull out our teeth, and then wonder why we're furious... Who's afraid of us??? You SHOULD BE!
Another great song from Taylor Swift. I love that she's not afraid of speaking of her pain and those who inflicted this on her. Who among us hasn't been there, but too afraid to confront it? Brava!!!
the way that "me" at the very end lingered long after the song is finished, as if it answers the question "who's afraid of little old me?" as if she's afraid of what she's become
74 year old Swiftie for the last 15 years along with my daughter. The bridge on this song is insane. There aren't enough superlatives or adjectives to apply to Taylor any more, she's incandescent. And she hasn't peaked yet! Even though I have not been in many of the situations she sings aboutI I CAN FEEL IT LIKE I'M RIGHT THERE!
The thought of watching her perform this song live, screaming “Who’s afraid of little old me” and hearing all her emotions come out give me goosebumps!!!
and she wrote this HERSELF. ALONE. Standing ovation.
Some of her hardest hitting songs were all her!! Namely It makes me think of my tears ricochet. Standing ovation indeed

She makes me cry
I didn't know why. But now I understand it's the pain that she reveals.
This is very villian coded. It's giving Maleficent. Witchy vibes. I genuinely love it, one of my favorites from the album and it stuck out from the first listen. Most screamable lyrics, imo.
The first picture that came to my mind was Jennifer from Jennifer’s Body levitating by the pool.
it honestly does give off that vibe!!! 😶🌫
i can’t wait for the villain edits along with this song now
Said the exact same thing to my husband! Maleficent vibes for sure!
I’m just proud she’s getting tougher! Way to go TAYLOR!!
You are the Queen and it’s about time you take your throne!
I can't breathe. TS perfectly describes how I'm feeling right now.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Who's afraid of little old me?
You should be"
She's a lyrical genius and we're living for it!!
YES
Don't translate...
ฉันจะสมัครรับข้อมูลใครก็ตามที่สมัครรับข้อมูลฉันและชอบความคิดเห็นนี้...
Best time to be alive!
Could have used one more “you should be” at the end
Don’t say that she’s a lyrical genius on every simple line please. Not everyone understands this and they mock afterwards.
this song gives me CHILLS. The way it makes me feel like I'm floating when she says levitating??? HOW??? And that first "who's afraid of little old me?" in high notes... HOW AM I EVEN STILL ALIVE AFTER LISTENING TO THIS.
That's what passion feels like.
Real!! but that lyric you should be!! probably one of my favorite lyrics of the whole song
What I love about all music, but especially Taylor’s music. Is the fact that I can imagine a perfect story to go with the songs. And this song is a perfect example of that!
The new eras set amazing!!
I think a few songs are about living her life with the insane level of fame she has.
@@Kellendras1 Can you even imagine. I can't even imagine how she was raised, from what I've seen about how her parents were promoting her. It gives me Britney's parents, but without the desperation for money.
it didnt go over my head. Taylor needs lots of hugs. Hopefully Travis is giving that to her. Poor girl just wants love.
Thank you finally somebody who gets it
Beautifully spoken
She was gaslit …told she was crazy , hence the rage. Just a powerful message
Yeah I get dealing with narcissist vibes from this...again (mad woman was definitely another one)
❤
Sort of like what happened to Britney….. 😳 I swear some of the lyrics in this album really remind me of her situation. I can’t help but wonder if they might collab one day. 🤷🏼♀️ Anything is possible. They could have planned something. Britney said on IG that things are not always what they seem to be.
@@anchoredlotustarot3039 Britney loves Taylor very much, I think it’s very possible.
Is it selfish to want a tour with just this album. Every single song.
2:37
“So tell me everything is not about me, but what if it is?”
“What if it is?”
“It is?”
“It is.”
Whoever made this lyric video is a GENIUS. Captures the realization and being honest with her self knowing that it is in fact about her.
"you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum they raised me " !!! why is no one talking about this ? it's insane 😳
Definitely talking about the reality that she was raised in!
China lake military base
I thought it was about essentially growing up publicly in a gold fish bowl. She's been in music since her early teens.
And " the circus life" is fame.
It's a great song. The album is brilliant.
@@Kellendras1bread and circus mk ultra
How many celebs have gone mad and off the rails in the tabloid take down society we live in?
This might be her best solo written songs on the albums its so dark twisted, heavy theatrical and quintessential taylor swift.
All conwritten with jack atanoff not solo
@@lisaanderson1146this is solo written. Co-produced with Jack. And not all are cowritten with him, some are with Aaron Dessner (he has 5 songs in the standard edition and 12 on anthology, the rest are with Jack). Taylor has some solo written songs in this album (this, my boy only breaks his favorite toys, the black dog, peter, and the manuscript)
I'd even say this is her best solo written song so far, across any album she made... It's majestic
never been a fan of taylor swift, but i can never say something's not a banger when it clearly is. THIS is a 100% pure-bred gluten-free BANGER right here, folks.
I love this song-it should be a single. It would make a great music video with the circus imagery and the her escaping and destroying the circus and everything at the end.
I know I agree
Undeniably her best song, nothing else can compare. This is Taylor's deep resentment towards the media and people who wants to drag her down, wish her the worst and then what? If something really happens to her, they'll feel some kind of remorse and had the guts to ask what happened to her, why she's gone mad. Thank you, Taylor, for keep on writing your story. I hope you know there are people who truly appreciate you.
Taylor saying " i put narcotics in my song which is why you're still singing along' literally made my jaw drop.
Dude me too!!
narkotika ♫ narkoba ♫ epic natural ability ♫ passion ♪ keeps us wantin♪ more ♫
thought i was only one who heard that and thought damn. even her... feel the need to to keep us here. most artists do this, for their own state or the crowds acception. even if i try to write a song it goes to narcotics quite often, we must all have that one thing that grips us even a lil bit. even taylor
Cheeky
truly a Miranda Priestly "and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry, when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room... from a pile of stuff" moment
i've been a swiftie since october 2022 and personally i think ttpd is more of a personal life album, that's why people aren't "getting it." it's more related to taylor's life, than just music.
Yes, she put narcotics in her songs - lyrics and her vocal portrayal of them! And we are happily hooked on her addictive & powerful poetry❤
"it's a wonder I broke, let's hear one more joke. Then we can all just laugh until I cry" guts me. She shares her pain with the world and uses it as a muse to process and release it. She is a verified musical genius. LOVE this song!!
This is the best song on this album in my opinion
Edit:thank you all for the likes
Its my new favourite of all time
Mine’s “thanK you aIMee”
Same top 1
Agreed!
Ikr me and my sisters love this song!❤
This song should be a single forever and ever, what a masterpiece!
i love the aesthetic of this album
It feels Alternative style 😁
This song is a bop, I really hope this one gets a music video. 🤞🤞💕
Yessss
YES like its already so wonderfully vivid like i got a whole movie in my head!
Right all I can picture is the end of Carrie
I need a dark themed one with some The Craft movie influences. This song hands down is probably her best.
This is a MASTERPIECE.
Lana was right, this is her and my fav song of the album
She's not just a singer-songwriter, she's also a very effective storyteller
True
and an artist
She is a storyteller of her and not only that most of everyone can relate
also you don't need to relate to the story, you can still experience it by listening to her songs
@@user-xd7sd2us8t true that’s the great thing about music
5:23 Did anyone catch when she says "Who's afraid of little old me" for the last time that there is a "me?" which stays longer, as an answer to the question. Damn this gives a whole other dimension to the song !
Oh you ATE with this
This is why she keeps winning -- she writes her TRUTH!
Notice when she sings “So tell me everything is not about me
But what if it is?”
The words disappear with the beat and we’re left with
“ IT IS”
And in the next line “THEY DID”
The answers are given too.What a mastermind!😲
I was looking for this comment!! I also just realized that at the end the words disappear and only "me?" is left from who's afraid of little old me... litteral tears 😭
I know right! I just noticed the last “me?”.. That is heartbreaking.
This is my favorite song off the album. It captures the raw emotions of being sad and angry at the same time.
it’s so poetic how in the beginning she hits the ground running with the the chorus and near the end she sounds so tired of “leaping from the gallows”
damn now i gotta listen to it again
I loved that too. It was beautifully delivered.
I love how she's singing this from the perspective of a vengeful banshee.
This song is absolutely amazing. Taylor wrote this herself!!!!!!!!!! I guess you could say that she is a mastermind!!. The lyrics are spot on!
lol i love how theres so many taylor swift songs that you can literally make any comment on her songs and use the title of one of her songs
idk if that made sense lol
@@ellomello1 Yeah! Choosing the right song tittle to comment on things is a delicate process.
The music video for this is going to be unprecedented.
Singer
If there is one hopefully! 🤞🏼
hopefully this gets a music video 😭😭😭, honestly I’m hoping the whole album gets a music video🤞🤞🤞🤞
I need a music video of this. It would be amazing!
It should get a video
The story/message/lyrics in this song can explain how women really feel about societal expectations... You cage us, dismiss us, belittle us, accuse us, pull out our teeth, and then wonder why we're furious... Who's afraid of us??? You SHOULD BE!
this is one of her best songs
2:14 OMGG HER SCREAM IS SOO ADDICTIVE 😍😍😍
This song makes me feel sad and powerful at the same time. It's like remembering I have a voice that means something.
"I was tame I was gentle til the circus life made me mean" - is so strong! This may be the best song in the album💯💯
It just gets better the more i listen OMG
The producer of this song deserves a grammy
Another great song from Taylor Swift. I love that she's not afraid of speaking of her pain and those who inflicted this on her. Who among us hasn't been there, but too afraid to confront it? Brava!!!
My take on it is that she’s speaking directly to all of us. The fans caused this pain.
@@Lofilifer1Im pretty sure its about the media and their view of her, not her fans.
the way that "me" at the very end lingered long after the song is finished, as if it answers the question "who's afraid of little old me?" as if she's afraid of what she's become
It hits completely different if you listen with noise-cancelling earphones. That drop!!!
I’m a 42f, never been a Swiftie, here because of all the Travis attention- IM BAWLING. OMG. WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING?
Me too!
Omg a LOT 😂 its a whole 10 plus years of bullying and hating on Taylor just for the fun of it all
Everything. ❤you've been missing everything. ... ❤
Also her grandmother was an opera singer in Puerto Rico ❤
Welcome 🫶🏽
"I am WHAT I AM
cause YOU TRAINED ME."
i just know that song will get a music video. it is pretty imaginable and will be amazingly fullfilling if we do get this gift from Miss Swift 💘
Did anyone notice the font changing from the usual typewriter font to the reputation font? 😭 this made me scream!
Same here!!
yes! another thing i noticed…it could absolutely just be the font but the “z” in crazy looks like a 3 to me at 4:52
@@graceburgan4928 yes I noticed it too! I was like, “What word is that? Oh, a cursive z.” 😅😆
Where?!
The thought of watching her perform this song live, screaming “Who’s afraid of little old me” and hearing all her emotions come out give me goosebumps!!!
