@@RodimusPrime1982 also technically speaking, it's also the most mentally stable combiner (wich is something very hard to happen), since its components are mostly synchronized on how they act and think (since they mostly hunt as a unity and not individually).
but unfortunetly, that's sometimes doesn't matter much depending on the continuity (since the writer has the power to put the depiction of his mentality as a wild mindless rampaging beast).
also, in some continuities, Nexus Prime is depicted as the first, biggest and strongest combiner in the transformers universe (although his components were only later given life and free will).

The classic, and honestly, I actually like his RoTF version, the G1 is obviously better but his RoTF version is way more menacing, to me, it looks like they all fuse together, making them unable to decombine, and Devastator himself is just an animal, unable to speak and able to do one thing: DESTORY!
I like the ROTF version too, I know the Bayverse gets a lot of flack but the Devastator concept of being just a slobbering monster that just sucks everything in is kinda cool. I mean I love the G1 version, but I can appreciate when a character gets a fresh take

Well, devastator is defeated by menasaur (correct my spelling), and bruticus in G1

I remember as a kid watching transformers and being so confused by his inconsistent head design. “Why does he sometimes have eyes and sometimes have a visor?”
Ok I got it….there are TWO sets of constructions/devastator. The one with eyes is the one megatron said they built on earth, the one with the visor is the one we see build Megatron and later fight with omega supreme on cybertron in flashbacks.

best combiner of all time and no one can change my mind
All the combiners i can remember:
1. Devastator: the most stable combiner
2. Bruticus: another stable combiner but dumber than bricks despite it's great power who could rival all combiners in my opinion.
3. Menasor: this guy is just a mess, highly unstable
4. Predaking: a warrior like combiner whos intelligence is quite questionable
5. Abominus: this guy moves by his instincts and completely feral (i think)
These are the decepticon combiners i can remember.
Apparently the reason Bruticus being dumb and the combaticons being smart is because of they’re different fields, they have different ways of doing things that at the end the fastest choice for them is brute force

Actually, those are headache balls/overload balls, usually found on cranes, if you look closely, one of them has a hook, like a crane, the other is probably broken.
Devastator: Living grenade. You set him loose and run for the hills, hoping you don't get devastated in the process.
I remember this fool, i was playing a transformer game on a PS4 and he smashed me multiple times until i beat him

We didn't get Devastator or Predaking in the UK. I'm still annoyed about that. But it did make me *extra* happy when I completed Gravity Builder from Generation Toy, Feral Rex from Mastermind Creations and Chiyou from Cang Toys.
