Liberec, poslední konvoj v 1000 mm (last parade in 1000 mm) , 18.07.2021

The era of meter-gauge trams in the Czech Republic ended in July 2021. The city of Liberec was the last tram operation of what were previously eight cities with a meter-gauge tram. On this occasion there was a big closing event on July 17th and 18th, 2021. All operational museum vehicles drove one last time on meter-gauge tram tracks through the beautiful Neisse valley. The beautiful weather attracted many visitors. It was a successful farewell event organized by the Liberec transport company together with the Boveraclub.

yes, the route will be changed to the standard 1435mm track. It is the conclusion of a decade-long development in the Czech Republic. Originally there were many tram companies in the Czech Republic with meter-gauge tracks. Liberec had this gauge the longest.
The route will look different in the future. There will be new stops, some of the embankment will be shifted by several meters. The line will be reopened at the end of 2022.

@@worldtradesurfer ok thank you for your answer. It's sad that they will not keep a portion for the metric trams , especially that the track seems to be in good condition , comparing it to tracks in Romania. Some of the Tatra T2 and T3 will be converted for 1435 also?

@@tcm_tatra The old two-axle meter-gauge trams will continue to run in the city center of Liberec in the future. The meter-gauge tracks in the center of Liberec will be preserved for museum traffic. All Tatra trams (including the Tatras that belong to the museum) will be converted for the 1435mm gauge.
