That gear is the epitome of cool. We shall never see this like again.
Facts. Mad drip
Incorrect. I’m pretty sure every rifleman “back home “ look like gothic serpents.
well yeah it was a moment in time, and never say never
And now his watch has ended
The truth has been spoken . Behold this loadout
90s Delta is a true vibe. Nothing like it.
60’s and 70’s MACVSOG
That intro showcased the True Meaning of "No Man Left Behind" regardless of the Situation you are in you must hold the line and never leave each others side
🙏🙏🙏
Gosh I loved the references to the original movie with that intro sequence

*rips off helmet, shoots more skinnies*
90s US military aesthetic will always hold a special place in me Rest In Peace to all brave individuals of Gothic Serpent.
So within 48 hours this vid, SRS Eric Slattery interview released, and M110 SASS Actual's Gordy Carbine Vid released. Lotta Gothic Serpent on my feed. I love it.
Tis the day
You know what’s really crazy? They were only 23 years away from Son Tay Raid, and only 25 years from Tet ’68.
@@LRRPFco52 yup
Great video gents. Some things about the different carbines:
653s main difference is one you can’t see, but there are several external giveaways as well.
The main thing about the 14.5” barreled 653 was that it was 1/12” rifled, so it wouldn’t stabilize M855 and M856.
653s had the flash hider common to the 603, aka birdcage FH.
Next is the telescoping stock, which was aluminum with vinyl acetate coating, at least the 2nd variation with the glossy finish. (The first mid 1960s-era Vinyl acetate-coated stocks on the XM177 were dull and wore off easily. XM177E2 got the updated Vinyl Acetate coating which carried over to the 653s.)
653s had the 603/M16A1 receiver set, and were known as the "M16A1 Carbine". The Unit, Ranger Regiment, SEALs, and some SF used them from the 1970s-mid 1980s when the M16A2/M855/M856 came into the system. JSOC and SOCOM Units didn’t want to be left out of the logistics chain when forward-deployed operating with adjacent units, and the newer M16A2 RO723 carbines had some features they liked as well, namely the brass deflector and extended feed ramps.
Another overlooked feature with Unit 723s is the handguard cap, which has clearance cuts for the M203 receiver when mounted, but every photo I’ve seen of M203 equipped 723s shows them with 727 barrels with the heavier forend and M203 front bracket step cut, as well as the 727 handguard cap.
One of the gripes with the Colt 653 was that its handguard cap got in the way of the M203 receiver, so early Unit days involved full-length M16A1/M203 combos for guys who carried 203s. You can see Grenada Unit photos with Teams who had most guys with 653s, but guys also carrying M16A1/M203s.
The 723s and 727s alleviated this problem with the clearance cut handguard cap.
The early 723s from 1985 did have 653-looking uppers with no brass deflectors though, and that upper receiver was updated in late 1985 with the RECEIVER, CARTRIDGE (NSN 1005-01-248-5858; Colt Defense LLC part 64948) with cartridge case deflector. The Unit had 723s with that upper even before Panama in ‘89. The Abu Dhabi carbines had the deflector upper receiver, as that is how I came to know it before the Canadian C7 naming we see today. Abu Dhabi contract was for 20,000 carbines in 1987.
723s and 727s had the M16A2 compensator vs the old birdcage. 723s and 727s by 1987 had the new Fiberlite stock and improved/reinforced lower receivers with the additional material around the RET threaded tower, as well as the pivot pin bosses. They also had the new M16A2 pistol grip.
GRIP, RIFLE (NSN 1005-01-148-4805), Colt Defense LLC part 64576
Unit 723s initially showed up with pencil barrels, but on the shoot schedule, a barrel was shot out in 2 weeks and replaced regularly by the armorers. By 1993, they had the newer M16A2 carbine barrels, known as the BARREL AND FRONT SIGHT ASSEMBLY (NSN 1005-01-233-8529). That barrel was standardized on 04JUN1986 in the system with Colt.
I haven’t been able to find any photos of Unit guys with 723s and tear drop Forward Assists though, even in Panama. Colt’s original M16A2 Carbine brochure from 1984 shows the small round forward assist button as well.
Lotta great information!!!
Hard to believe it's been 30 years....damn.
For weapons in Ranger Regiment in 1993, most duty positions had M16A2s. Squad Leaders, RTOs, PLs, PSGs, 1SGs, COs, XOs, FOs, AGs, ABs, Mortar sections, Carl Gustav gunners, and some others would have drawn 727s. Sniper Squad Leaders often had 727s suppressed, but the hooahs in the line had M16A2s and SAWs, as well as M16A2s with 203s for Grenadiers. The next year, the older blasters were turned in and new M4A1s with the same barrel profile as the 727 were drawn.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Most intense video I've seen this week and its perfect.
I wish you would make a long form video like this for all your loadout shorts. I can't get enough of this type of content.
thank you for your service
I appreciate the discipline and professionalism of these guys when I can see them place their weapons on safe before they move.
☝"well this is my safety sir!"

Great video. Love black hawk down. Very accurate to what the movie show cased
Cool. Like it
Its all in the grind sarge
i admit that even in today's standard and advancement of gears, this particular gear is i always associates the CAG.
very OG.
Glad to see you are doing well
That opening with the bounding movements was beyond excellent
Very cool performance
Having personally met Mike Durant during a visit to Huntsville Alabama a few years back. I can say with confidence, he is a very humble man. I got him to sign his book for me, and it now sits on with pride upon my book shelf. Now, as for the kit. I would personally LOVE to have one of the ARs shown. I love the retro look of the carry handle ARs, there's something classy about them. Simple, and effective. It would definitely be a classy piece that you pull out of the bag at the range. I have to ask however, what is the mount used to mount the light onto the barrel? Very interested in making a similar build.
Commando Black goes well with 3 Pattern Desert 🏜️ Combat Uniform , OD Green Nomex Flight Gloves, and, Sand Desert Boots.
Interesting bit of trivia; the operation this movie was based upon took place when the US was in the process of phasing out the Desert Storm-era 6-color "chocolate chip" camo pattern for the 3-color "coffee stain" pattern. As such, there was a mix of both camo patterns in use at the time, which was reflected in the movie with the Rangers wearing 3-color Desert Combat Uniforms and the older 6-color covers on their PASGT helmets.
Making me wish i had the money to keep working on my late 90's force recon kit, i got the CQBE AVS vest, helmet suspension, and Eagle industries belt
"Heyy, where's the rescue squad?"
"We're it."
Top Notch.
Thanks
Old school cool!🇺🇸🫡
Everyone standing up in the open shooting on line. 😂
This is amazing video! Thank you guys for good words about Squadron Sew Shop 😊
🙏🙏🙏
0:26 damn it this scene
Nice 🙂, might also be nice if Ranger Body Armor worn too. 👀
They don’t plan on getting shot in the back running away…
I've got that
@@ryanvargas4889 The special armor at the time didn’t have any back plates, just soft armor with a pocket for a front plate.
Deltas are something else.. Gordo Shugart Hoot.. definition of badasses
Ahh....the M16A2 carbine. Aka 723... great piece.
Well done.
best loadout ever
Dope
The Larp is strong with this one.
🤙🤙🤙
The track at the beginning, is it an extended version of the one found on the soundtrack? And where can I get it?
I love old delta force operators
This LARP went full Hansel…It’s so hot right now.
🔥🔥🔥
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"I hate Hansel, everywhere I look, Hansel Hansel Hansel"
Hopefully nobody will need a yoggogily
Do any of the AE/Gordy carbine type suppressors fit that PSA 723 w/16” barrel? I’d like to pick up the PSA 723 but suppressed is almost a must.
Thanks for covering the rifle gents.
“It’s about the Man next to you, that’s it!” 😺 #RLTW
👍
Usually I don't like making suggestions because I know you have to read all of them but I have one that I can't help but mention. Is it possible if the Delta Force kit from the Iraq War 2003-2007 ish would be possible to make sometime later? I don't mean to force or anything, just wondering since I've always loved that setup but unfortunately there are no movies on that period for CAG.
Hey, I kinda have a question.
How did you attach an ANVIS mount on a Pro-Tec helmet? Did you use bolts to attach it, or is there a different method you used?
Dude if guys ever need an extra, I would gladly buy all the gear necessary to LARP with you guys!
No cover? In wide open? WoW! Great plan 👏👏👏
Bruh it's a range not a movie set.
This is sick as fuck love this video!
What protec helmets are they. I've been looking for one for a while but never could figure out what model.
Does someone have a video or manual on how to cut the waist pockets and sew them onto the shoulders?
Hey!! Who's Hungry?
This is my safety, sir.
Great kit, please link the plate carrier and the rig that clips to it.
Man I wish I had a range where I could do this.
Could I ask, where did you get the setcom 5 headset, trying to track one down for my helmet?
There is something inherently cool with the Colt 727.
can u review your tactical headsets on the range pls
I have completed my ranger equipment in this operation. But I don’ know where to buy the seetcom 5 headset.
Where’s the best place to find a setcom 5 headset? Can’t find them anywhere
Cool video.
Thanks!
LUBE YOUR GOD DAM SPRINGS 😂
Which song was used in the intro? I know it's from the movie, but I can't for the life of me find it on the soundtrack.
You forgot about Nomex gloves, another not regular army stuff
OK🇺🇸
Delta force hawk ops leaked 0:01
Dude where do you get all you amor and guns at?
The shirt is a typical but tucked in? Or is it a different?
Hey@SPARTAN117GW you forgot about the guys from the army rangers and the 10th mountain division.
Another video for another time
🎉😢
0:25 Hey where’s the rescue squad?
Love the kit, just wondering what thr strobe is called
SDU-5E strobe
Can CloneorDie do a MACV SOG episode?
👀👀👀
Where do you get your uniforms from I'm trying to make a 75th rangers impression
i like how he puts down links to stuff ( im assuming its to buy the gear he has) and when i click on the links they just show the website. Not the actual product.
Link goes to the websites or accounts selling them

Is this guy that SEAL, Doctor, and Astronaut guy?
no i dont think so
only thing i seen wrong with this is delta wore the black combat boots not tan and they didn't have night vision on the helmet
Are you in military?
What is the footwear do they wore?
Panama sole desert boots
@@spartan117gw Altama brand?
@@shawnofdanaukota3843whatever what was issued at the time, so most likely Altamas.
Search for Adidas gsg9 assault boots. Delta guys wore something like that in this era. The Rangers wore Altama desert boots.

We're it!
It wasn't u common to see a non brass deflector a1 upper in those days there is a picture of c squadron guys hog hunting and one of the operators has a non shell deflector a1 upper with a m4 profile barrel those guys did it all
Yup!
I think the photo you’re referencing is of Dan Schilling, who was USAF CCT. CTT and PJs from STS had different weapons than The Unit, which had 723s. The Unit had been using 723s since the mid-late 1980s when they replaced the 653s from before, the key factor being the standardization of M855 Green Tip and M856 Tracer in the system that came with the M16A2 and M249 SAW. Colt 653s had 1/12” rifling, whereas the 723s were part of the M16A2 family of weapons with 1/7” twist. You can see photos of The Unit in Panama about 4 years prior to Mogadishu, where they were all mostly using 723s there as well, several of which had Ops Inc collar-mounted cans.
Surprised or not surprised on their knowledge on knee pads??

this is extreme levels of B A S E D that i havent seen in a loooong time
Also clone got it wrong with the PVS 7, its been in use since 1988 in the Army itself, Delta didnt just use the PVS 7
