My mate had his Ibiza holiday cancelled at the last second, forcing him to find an alternative way of catching an STD. Fortunately he lives less than twenty miles from Southend.
What do u mean by STD💀

Incredible comment

There's a very old saying, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket
Yep that's why cash is king.
don't keep all your farts in one cloud
Yes! I literally just made that comment on another site. Our over-reliance on technology is alarming and this will be far from the first time this happens.
Yes let’s travel back in time to 40s when word is less complicated
fact is, there is very few is able to build the basket and people even dont realize they share the same basket
And this is why having few mega corporations handling everything on some far away server is a dumb idea.
Not for much longer. Freedom is coming from all of them soon.
never merge on a Friday, going to be a late night 😂
This is 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
LOL
yeah and never deploy to Production on Friday.
chill ran down my spine
yours late night is others morning lol. But deploying on Fri is rly a bad practice
Turn it off and on again? 😉
😂
Glad I turned my computer and network devices off and unplugged so my PC is safe from the attack. :)
Citing the IT crowd - nice 😂
My Nan has lost almost two hours of Gala Online Bingo. These people are pure evil. 😢😢
I havent seen that on the news. How is it your Nan is being silenced? being hacked by Foxy
Thats Gala jenny-snide, free, free your grannies bingo account, where are the Freedumb shyters.... We need shart resistance..

Go to local bingo instead.
Someone at Crowdstrike..."what's this button for?" 🤣

I was thinking more 'Mr Robot'. Everything goes down, no record of finance, debt, home ownership, medical records etc. Maybe one day......
Working in IT, can’t log in, realizing it’s because of Crowdstrike 😭😂
The irony. Dodgy crowdstrike falcon .sys driver - major QA fail

Drove past a bank this morning and saw a line of people trying to get their money out! Keep calm and carry cash 😊
💯💯💯
Well those people are stupid lol, assuming they went to take out their money just because of the outage
Despite this a wallet full of £5, £10 and £20 pound notes is still there during this outage. Don't get rid of cash exactly for this reason.
Good thing is that i have zero money in my bank account...😂😂😂
Listen, if this effected my bank account I'd have a darn good excuse for my bills not getting paid.

Awe man I got 7 Dollars in my savings account.
Have they tried turning it off and on again?
Luckily, the biggest IT outage the world has ever seen, "affecting major services including broadcasters across the world" has not affected one of the biggest broadcasters across the world...as here we are...watching the "meltdown"...on the internet...
The world without constant tech would be beneficial, beautiful.

Cash can't crash. Forget digital currency and digital ID.
This is why New York, and California have banned tap and go, and self serve tills. I am English by the way!!
Cash crashes all the time. The Weimar Republic and Zimbabwe and the current USA all come to mind
@@tvviewer4500 wrong use of the word crash
Cryptocurrency is decentralized in computer nodes. This global crash must have occurred through CENTRALIZATION.
To use an analogy. Imagine if there were 20 separate banks in Cleveland that people in Cleveland could use. Now imagine if there were only 1 big bank in Cleveland with many different brick and mortar 🧱 locations throughout the City of Cleveland.
If that one big bank had major internal problems and had to close for the day of Friday, then all people in Cleveland would be screwed.
This issue of increased centralization in "Big Tech" was alluded to in the story.
We already have digital currency by the way, Visa, MasterCard, banking debit cards and credit cards 💳 are digital currency that use cryptography for security and transactions. However, it's a much older form of cryptography that is less secure than what we refer to as "cryptocurrency." Think of the older form as analogous to a musket in the 1700s and the newer crypto technology as analogous to a semi-automatic rifle. Actually, 🤔 that is not the best analogy Visa and MasterCard can handle far more transactions at a far higher rate of speed. Thus far anyways, their are minds working on trying to resolve that problem for decentralized cryptocurrency.
Yeah but if the till doesn't work, the shop still won't accept your cash ...
Leaving everything up to computers is a great human mistake ✌🏼😑👎🏻
Use dvds
Use cash
Use paper
This is why Cash is King.
Tell me, how would cash be valuable if all technology fails? As soon as all payment systems fail, your cash becomes literally worth its material value ...

This is why monopolies don’t work. Someone needs to compete against Microsoft in a big way. This is too much at stake when everyone depends on a singular company especially a global scale.
This issue wasn't caused by Microsoft

The mainstream media being affected and taken off air is very alarming, but oh dear, how sad, never mind, I'm sure we'll get over it!!
No loss.
Terrible...but this does demonstrates how the use of CASH REMAINS KING! NOT DIGITAL CURRENCY to survive.
Lawsuits incoming. Imagine if this turns out to be Crowdstrike cheaping out and hiring a junior dev who simply forgot to close his code by adding ; and causing a syntax error of massive proportions
Would not want to be part of the stand up meetings at Crowdstrike right now, yikes somebody is getting fired
Or getting quietly rewarded by the WEF…
Never underestimate the value of a competent software test team.
Maybe they need to turn it off and back on!
Happy Election year, Folks! 😂
Got to love the old cash register
The A.I cybersecurity software got connected to the internet and decided the entire connection is a risk

I'd like to thank Microsoft for this unexpected day of peaceful work and getting things done! My employer can reach me, my customers can't reach me. Best day ever!
Skynet taking over
I celebrated a long time ago when I got off a mainframe system. There is no way I am getting on "The Cloud".
This is incredibly stupid. The whole point of cloud infrastructure is that it's decentralised and distributed - redundancy can be built in by design without the cost of provisioning and configuring bare metal machines to the extent which would have been previously necessary.

I saw a local ATM with blue screen of death. I couldn’t believe someone would use Microsoft for something so important.
This has been known for some time. Same for Medical computers and Banks, Energy, Railway etc
Digital systems are not infallible
This reason alone is why we shouldnt go to a cashless society.
It's nothing to do with Crowdstrike or Microsoft, a couple of scallies stole a major copper cable overnight. 😀
Yes blames Irish travellers! 😮

The computer had a virus so they gave it a jab.
Pretty sure I’ve seen this in a movie where suddenly the “Update “ was the virus and judgement day begins 🤖

I am an industrial software programmer. It's just a problem of priority: "it managers" proclaim that security is paramount and is the main object of their focus.
NO: being able to work, provide a service and earn money is paramount.
"we want to be a safe bank: we have decided to wall up the entrance door and all the windows to improve security, no customers can enter and we cannot work but at least we are safe"
Among other things: "The Security" does not exist, there is only a "level of security" depending on how much money, time and work can be spent on it.
Effecting people getting paid
Maybe ask the GRU how they did it?
i'm sure bad actors will take advantage of this. but if the updates that were pushed out have taken systems offline, it's a bit difficult to hack into a system that isn't on.
I wonder how long it will be before they blame Vladimir for this.
It goes to show how vulnerable AI is if our life will be entirely dependent on it
Only if people totally allow it never a problem with cash.
@@Free12609 AI or us?

When systems get auto updated, sh*t can happen.
The cashless society has big issues
Ironically, those companies that don't have security software (not a good idea generally) or use cheap ones, don't use Microsoft (perhaps use Linux or Apple) and don't keep systems up to date are not effected.
Honey the computer got covid
Not even the media are being told the truth about this one.
what about the flights lready in the air? not affected?
No
I took a regular flight from Nashville to Sacramento. 16 hour delay. No computer failure, just the airline. Idiots blow stuff out of proportion.
Don't use auto updates..
Weird waking up to this after watching Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning last night!! 😅

The earth will not have enought power to power everything thats being built.

Why are news, banks, drs etc all linked ?
Because certain companies get bailed out by the governments resulting in monopolies which makes people dependent on certain companies
@@2d4e Very handy for when digital tracking( Chinese style ) is enforced.
Because they all use computers and the Internet. It's not that hard to understand
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 They don't have to have access to different facilities. Unlike the scenario we've just had, where one glitch costs millions and causes mayhem. Definitely not the safest.
@@carolewynn9407 millions of computers belonging to hundreds of companies and institutions use Crowdstrike software for their Cybercecurity. That was the source of the problem. Crowdstrike pushed out a buggy update to their Falcon software which messed up computers that received the update. Like I said, its not that hard to understand.
Restart windows on safe mode, uninstall crowdstrike software , restart windows , or restart windows go into troubleshooting restore for past backup before update and stay with older version. Problem fixed till they get everything updated.. no reason to stay like deer in headlights and watch your business burn. This not that hard.

who let the intern upload a patch on a friday??!! 😤
Those using the uk railways experienced no difference to the usual chaos.
Surgeries are having to hand write prescriptions -electronic prescriptions are also down in some places
Why are the OS suppliers leaving security to third parties? We use crowdstrike for Linux at work, I argued that SELinux would be sufficient (I admit as an SRE I 'm not a security expert). Also it looks like this was not caught by QA testers (or QA automation) which is a big miss imo. As a Linux guy I find it scary that a large part of this important infrastructure is windows based.
I agree, I work in tech also and this just screams poor qa. How did this get past testing. It's shocking.
And what happens when the AI is the threat. This was a hack and this is there way of covering it up.
"Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted"
Different driver than windows
But they are impacted since they are connected to internet services which are down. Link in chain is down for everyone.
I work in IT and it works on my machine. I have no issues.
Hahahahah!!! :) I get it
I'm a developer and it works on my machine
I drive a manual car. My friends ask my why boy automatic or a tesla and my response is alwahs the same " I like to keep control of my car as much as possible"
Then they ask, why don't I never use Siri or Alexa and i give them a save response
"There's no way I'm giving a robot control of my possessions, i don't even likr automatic cars, i like to keep as much control as possible"😊

Microsoft caught IT Covid.
Serious companies do not use Microsoft for their critical systems
Easy fix. Switch to a linux server

Unfortunately CrowdStrike cannot detect internal threats for incompetence.

I knew technology will fail us. We’ll go back to basics. 😢

Imagine if Skynet was in operation...
It's funny how 1000s of shops and businesses who could only take card payments suddenly find the ability to take cash!
Question: is the blue screen sole outcome of this alleged problem or ...?
Always turn off auto-updates
Could this be the fault of one incompetent programmer?
This is the second time I think...because about a month or two ago I couldn't do my payroll because of something like this was happening.
Falcon would loose Crowdstrike 83 Billion what a useless company
