Some advice from an old man equipment fixer and flipper: the longer you keep anything the easier it is to convince yourself you need to keep it.....
Yes, been there lol I wanna get it gone quickly
Can agree. The more I mess around with something, the more reasons I come up with to keep it.
@@thomas7529 But but LOOK AT IT, surely you can find a job for it?? :p
@@Wayoutthere Let's be realistic, he'll proably need any specific licence to opertae professionaly with this monster. PLus a real truc kto haul this heavy piece of equipment. And the truck licence that goes with it. That's a lots of money to spend even before you have a job.
@@tomjoad1363 Pretty sure he already has a CDL.
I'm an old retired heavy equipment mechanic sitting here on a saturday morning with a huge smile watching you getting that thing moving and driving. Thanks! Suggestion for more subscribers, Don't change anything!
Hi, I'm Laurajane and I am from New Zealand.I started my apprenticeship around 1970 on this kind of equipment and generator sets. A friend told me about this channel. The more I saw the more that I liked. Great job on the Clark loader. I knew them quite well. My family owned a limestone quarrie. Worked there before I went overseas. Have a masters degree in marine engineering. Retired now. This is wonderful ❤️
Thanks for sharing!
A layman dont understand what can be done with a working piece of tired iron. I watch with my 3 yr old and we love what you do. Ty from ky!
I just described your channel to a friend as “roadkill with heavy equipment”. Honestly I think it’s accurate at this point.
Lol right that's a good one
I resemble that remark!!! Haha thanks!
@@DieselCreek your welcome! As a heavy equipment tech it’s nice to see people still value the iron that can be fixed with wrenches.
@@deeredrummer47 the stuff they build now wouldn't last as long as the old stuff an still run. The old stuff is the solid stuff. My skid steer breaks a decent amount it's mostly electric stuff or sensors ect.. the cat 180 at work will engage the parking break while driving at least I think that's what's going on.
@@DieselCreek got your self a good size loader handy for plowing deep heavy wet snow
Dont sell it. This is the new star on your channel. Autocar truck got over run. Great job!
You gotta 'pay to play' indeed, but seeing the smile on your face when you drove it up that road, I'm sure it was worth it!
Your comment was the one on the page, I was actually wondering if he got it ready and drove it and I scanned down and read your comment! Spoiler!! Lol.
Gee wiz its the post apocalyptic inventor.

It's just great!

So happy to see you here TPAI
I particularly liked that part were you said you could have got it for less than $1500 but you choose for it be a fair deal for both parties. That speaks volumes about who you are as a person 👏👏
$1500 is dirt cheap for that machine, even if it needs a couple thousand $ worth of hoses
@@thesteelrodent1796 $1500 is only a dirt cheap deal if you have the know how to get it running.
That 555 with no exhaust gives me goosebumps. Im impressed with it firing off so quick. She isn't ready to die yet.

Sorry to write a second time. My dad's contracting firm had a '60s vintage Michigan 75 non-articulating loader that I just loved (rear wheel steer). It was the coolest looking machine. It was operated by a wonderful 'good old boy' with the improbable name of Stomper Skeeter. He was a cracker jack on that loader. He would drive it across town backwards as though he were driving a caddy! I loved it so much, that I'd sneak up on that Michigan loader whenever I could and start moving some dirt around. I was just a kid, so it's lucky I didn't drive it into something. I loved the sound of that Detroit Diesel two-stroke engine too. Your loader brings back great memories, even if that Cummins motor is a four-stroke one. These 175's and 275's were used often on large diameter sewer and storm water pipeline projects.
If I could give you five likes I would Matt. No five min intros, no click bait, no overly produced ten min segments etc. Great work.
Dude that was a smokin deal for both parties. It's not just anyone who would come in and get an old abandoned machine up and running again. Well done Sir!
whatever happened to it did he sell it?????
@@rsprockets7846 I don't remember for sure, he may have because is was bigger than he needed. But he had it around the farm for while.

Matt, I'm just like you. I hate seeing anything scrapped if there is any chance of giving it new life. I'm just amazed though that you are able to sell stuff as quickly as you do. I guess when you are in the business, you always have something up your sleeve. I sold tools for 40 years so I knew where the deals were and who wanted what. Thanks for all you do to keep things interesting. I have watched all your videos from the oldest up to this one. I am anxious to see what happens next.
You will not sell her! You are already in love and will keep the girl :D

I've known people like you and all of their combined energy and enthusiasm and laser focus at crucial moments combined wouldn't equal what you demonstrate with these things you share with us. On top of that you are producing excellent, thoughtful videos. Thanks.
Peace be upon you, may God bless you, my dear brother. I had the honor of subscribing to your channel. You are a creative man. I wish you continued success. Your brother from Saudi Arabia
When you were twisting apart the old crappy hose I said to myself " he's gonna need that for the length ".
Same and I'm a 16 Year old from Jamaica! I love these stuff!
$1500 dollars?? That is INSANE! I'd love to see a series where you patch it up and paint it, If I were you I'd never sell it!
Yep 👍
It was a great deal.
Literally less than scrap iron price.
Ik I was thinking he was gonna say 20k or someware around there
Keeping this thing running will be a nightmare. Do you have enough gravel to load to make it worth it? It's only good for a couple jobs.
That loader looked so happy driving down the road again. It's nice of you to make a loader happy.
I'm an old loader operator (78) from bob cats to cat 988. Looks like you got a good deal I too like to see old iron back up and working I picked up an old international track loader that was on the site of a clearing job, I was working for a song. GOOD JOB
At least when you got bent over with the tire expensive you had plenty of lubricants around to make it less painful:-)
She's a beauty, definitely worth everything. She does not want to give up yet, she has many miles to go & a good strong long life to give. Give her good & she will pay you back well.

Growing up in the 1950’s in West Texas when big farms were replacing small farms our family used big loaders like these to handle cotton burrs from gins for fertilizer. It does my heart good to see this loader come to life.

I think you're right
Calcium chloride has been used in a lot of farm tractors. I think it has been replaced by something else because a flat would leave a dead spot in the field.
Good video. I'm fighting cancer and just subscribed to your channel few days ago lots to catch up. Keep them coming
Awesome job man. Your channel and what you do is the most worthy channel to watch on CZcams in my option. You saved that old girl and restored a new life into it rather then letting it rust into the ground 👍🏻

You are living what many consider to be the American Dream. Not getting rich in the stock market gambling casino but by adding economic value with the sweat of your brow and the cleverness of your mind. Having a big piece of land where nobody comes and tells you your lawn is too long or your mailbox needs to be painted is a big part of that dream. Anyone can do this. People should stop complaining about the corrupt system and go live their lives doing what they love because life is so short. G_d bless you for sharing your experiences with everyone and I hope you prosper on social media as some kind of recompense for the extra effort that it takes to share with others.
The loader was a "Can't leave it there for that price" deal. Even if you never got it running and driving, it's worth that much in parts and scrap. You have the "luck of the Irish" finding these old girls at a reasonable price. Best of luck, and can't wait for more videos.
I don't know why this appeared on my recommendations. But I am happy it did. Your enthusiasm, way of explaining and camera work made me need to watch you get this thing aworkin!
My uncle ran those for years and taught me how to operate that exact loader from the time I was five, and my cousin can do majic with one too. Thanks for the video it brought back fond memories!
Howdyyawl from the land down under. You did well. Dont dout yourself. In Australia, it's worth $ 30-50k . Like your show. Keep it up. 😊
If your artist friend spells her name Boucher, that's french and pronounced "Boo Shay". You never mentioned it but that articulating loader articulates without a hiccup. No hydraulic problems there. Sweet!
but if she lives in US its probably anglicised to Bou - cher :)

Hi Matt, looking at the other hoses you may want to build your own. Either use reusable fittings or get a good crimping tool and buy the cheaper one time use fittings. You have enough equipment that has hydraulics that it would be cheaper in the long run to make your own hoses. A good selling point to point out to buyers when you put it up for sale.
