Thank you. Aren't you playing: A major / D major / E MINOR chords ? And isn't the blues progression A major / D major / E MAJOR ? Is that a problem?

Can you pretty please explain if all those chords play on a key of c harmonica? Or what’s the difference with a key of a? I’m new to all of this and I’m currently looking into purchasing one specifically for blues music 😊
Hey Carol! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and cheers for the question. The 12 bar blues is playable on any key of diatonic harmonica. Depending on which key you choose, it would either sound higher or lower in pitch. A key of C harmonica sounds higher in pitch compared to a key of A harmonica.
Many blues songs are in the key of E. They are likely be played with a key of A harmonica in cross position to match that key. When you inhale on a key of A Harmonica, you are playing in the key of E (cross position).

@@Lilsunshinebaby most instructional material is in the Key of C, which is why it's recommended. You can still use other keys to learn the material though. Personally, I find the key of C a tad high in pitch.
My recommendation would be to choose a key which inspires you to play the most. For me I love the lower sound of the A harmonica and being able to improvise along to many blues records.
