Nice!! Thanks Tomlin 🙂
Love this.
A hug from Brazil, for you... Watch your videos and I learn a lot from you
Awesome breakdown!
That's a great lesson Tomlin. Thanks for sharing
Great lesson Tomlin
Super lick and instructional video!
I just watched a video and use that tool. It was very helpful on CZcams. Your video on how to find and play the licks of a song is so incredibly helpful. Thank you Tomlin for taking the time. Your School is the best.
This is wonderful, just what I need…love the lick and your teaching approach therof, many thanks Tomlin.🎶👍🏻
Awesome Tomlin! So fun and helpful! Thank you!
Merci !!
Wow, this was cool seeing the process. Thanks !
thanks so much...😋
Enjoyed learning how you went about teaching yourself the lick, great information for the rest of us. Now to play it another 9,980 times :)
Thanks
Thanks Tomlin, this is a really nice riff and you show us one surprising way to use it. 😊
❤ Thanks! Great reports from your recent Edinburgh seminar. It constantly amazes me that the international "harp community" can be so familiar/cohesive/friendly! Thanks EVERYONE!😊
Really like that kind of video
I like the teaching us how to fish approach. Thank you Tomlin! ❤
Sounds cool! Now invite him to one of your videos, so he can comfirm!
And then we get a lesson with both of ya together. Muahaha perfect plan. 😈😂😂
This is one of your best. Please more like this!!!! 1:18 years
Awesome breakdown of that lick! And a great lesson! Thanks Tomlin, 09999 more times to go so it sinks in 🙏😳😅
Cool to see my painting on Adam’s wall
Thanks for your lessons!
That's awesome!!
Big Thank you for you👍
Very instructive analyze and lesson 👍- what clip of Adam is it - How can I find it ? / Kenne
NIce...
newbie question! what's the reason of using headsets when you practice with a soundtrack? isn't it more difficult to ear yourself playing the harp then? thanks and great work by the way.
Thanks Tomlin! I follow Adam's channel as well as yours, and it's amazing, the quality of your teachings. In this Gussow lick, I thought I heard an octave tongue-block lick in the 2nd half of the lick. Am I completely wrong? is he using an octave pedal? And, btw, if he's doing the octave trick, thanks for having simplified the lick for us!
Nice watch! What is it?
Thanks for the video Tomlin. I would do the timing as 1 ah 2 ah 3 e + 1 ah 2 ah 3. This might be too difficult for beginners and that is why i believe you said all eighth notes.
What mic are you using here, at the end harmonica solo?
What microphone do you use for these videos and would you recommend it for home recording?
I'm looking for something not too expensive but that gives good quality. Currently what I use is too cheap and tends to not give me a good range of frequencies. My acoustic recordings lack middle and base.
Well, as interesting as this video can be, it would only be fully completed after "teaching" or showing us the missing parts: what are the subtilities in Adam's playing that lick that make it sounds like this... He may use a lot of tongue slap, tongue block or double notes. I don't know because the mic and reverb/delay of the amp changes the result, but even acoustic it would show us some effects, advanced techniques. I watched the whole video waiting for a lesson on how to analyse and find those subtilities (that make all the difference in the end)
tomlin what program are you using that allows you to slow the music down so you can listen more carefully
It’s CZcams - you can slow down any videos
Hi Tomlin. Transcribing by ear looks fun, but do you ever simply use one of the readily available pitch monitor apps to speed up the process of finding the notes a player is using?
That’s a great idea BUT I think there is a lot to be said for doing it yourself - your ear will get much better
Gussow is awesome. I’ve seen about all his videos and I’ve only been learning hair for a month 😂
Great lick. Very useful thanks
A rhetorical question... I have been a student of yours for about six months now, how long do you think it will take me to do that?
Hiya - I'm afraid I can't give an answer to that. Check out this video which might help answer a little - czcams.com/video/LdtWRuJNUKA/video.html
Haha ten thousand times
Damn, ya spend the night in county??
(♯) (♭) how can I make (C) harmonica
Hello! Are you wondering how to make "C" harmonica sharp or flat???
You forgot what makes the lick good in the octave splits. Cmon my guy.
So you said 10000 times I think a little ’tongue in cheek’ there but honestly how many repetitions do most people do to make this ‘feel natural’??
Told you you would look great bald! Now just shave it all with razor and it will look even better. Congrats and welcome to the club ;)
P.S.: this video format is amazing
Put a Lid on it...
I was thinking the same thing
Gussow vamps all the notes going down. He vamps automatically like he used to do while busking.
You look younger bald. Way better honestly, great choice
4 n 5 notes wrong
Oh no - what are they?
@@TomlinHarmonica listen in slow tempo
I have famously terrible ears, you’re going to have put me out of my misery and tell me what they are
@@TomlinHarmonica The notes Gussow plays (additionally) sound an octave below the notes you are playing. I suspect he's using tongue blocking to play them in octaves. This is in line with another comment above, pointing out the advanced techniques that are ignored in this video. It's fine to not address advanced techniques in a video aimed at beginners; just say "he's doing some other stuff that's beyond the scope of this video" and move on. But there's no reason to get salty and act like they're not audible in the original. We're not deaf, nor stupid.
Hiya, I hope I’m not being misunderstood. I do have bad hearing - I taught what I heard. I think it would be great for everyone watching if anyone can chime in and explain the notes I’m missing - this is helpful for everyone. No sarcasm or saltiness.
I haven't seen your wedding ring in a while . What's up with that? Everything cool?🤔
